We just got back from two nights at Quiet Mountain and it will definitely be a spot we return to for weekends away. The hospitality is excellent- very personal service and the staff are always on hand with whatever you need. And the food is delicious; doesn't try too hard, just really good, wholesome meals. I loved all the quirky decor and art around the house and the suite- so much more special than a generic looking hotel room or modern bnb. My favourites were the small touches- the fireplace in our suite was always prepared at night with newspaper, kindling wood and dry pinecones for an easy to start fireplaces, and the water bottles, hats and walking sticks available for walks and hikes around the property. We stayed in Room 7 which has a separate lounge, massive bed and

We spent two nights at Quiet Mountain. The setting is lovely, the rooms are comfortable and the food was -- with a couple of minor exceptions -- imaginative and superb. Among the culinary highlights: flavourful duck; butter, cream and yogurt from Quiet Mountain's own cows; a sumptuous English breakfast. The lounge and library are comfortable and welcoming, and a great place to meet other guests. It was altogether a restful getaway from the bustle of Johannesburg. However, there are signs that the owners may be resting on their laurels (or, perhaps, thinking of moving on?). WiFi reception was, at best, spotty and, at times, non-existent. Our room had just one electrical plug in an inaccessible corner -- and even that was not properly attached to the wall. Some of the decor could

Wow, what a wonderful find. My husband and I booked to stay at Quiet Mountain to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. The farm is gorgeous with lovely gardens. My husband is a trail runner and he enjoyed running to the top of the magaliesburg - which is beautiful walking path through the property to the top of the mountain. We stayed in room 9 which is a 5 min walk from the main house where the food is served. Our room was big and comfortable. The best part was the privacy - we even had our own pool and the quietness was priceless! What a wonderful place to unwind. The service by the owner was wonderful. The food was faultless, wholesome and prepared with care. Herbs from the garden, dairy from the cows and eggs from the chickens. We can't wait to get back to this lovely place!

Visited Quiet Mountain in 2001. Returned last month to find the attention to detail in every aspect from personalized service, background music, scrumptious cuisine, friendly staff and comfortable accommodation has stood the test of time. We stayed in the farmhouse which was a short walk to the main house, lush herb gardens and warm swimming pool. A must for anyone wanting to leave the rat race and television behind.

We heard a lot about Quiet Mountain Country Lodge, so finally decided to celebrate and breakaway for our 6th Anniversary and book in for two days. What an experience!!! John & Terrence with the help of there well trained and friendly staff know how to make you feel welcome and the establishment is of the highest Standard. All you do is Dial 208 Service and a staff member arrive with what every you have ordered where ever you are on the property. From the breakfast to dinner no expense has been spared to give you value for your hard-earned money. What I enjoyed mostly was "No TV or Radio available except in the games room. You can really relax and forget about the problems at home. When you check out of Quite mountain your system is basically re-set to factory settings and you
