There is something about quiet mountain- the moment you arrive you unplug and relax. The rooms are very comfy and farm-style. The owner who serves and chats is the funniest guy and the food- OH THE FOOD! It's all so good. We have been about 4 times and whenever we need a true break we go to quiet mountain.

It's always nice going to a place with no expectation only to be really enjoy the stay. Living in Sandton we wanted a getaway place close to home but out of the big smoke. Quiet mountain country house was being discussed over a popular radio station and sounded wonderful. So spent the weekend there and had a wonderfully relaxing and peaceful time. We stayed in one of the thatch rooms that was lovely and a wonderful cool reprieve from the heat. John, one of the owners made us feel so welcome and spoilt us rotten by serving up delicious home made meals. The food is all organic with as much as possible coming from the farm. When last did you have fresh milk and butter from a jersey cow??? The walks were great and easy or hard depending on your fitness. We'll be back for

We last visited 18 years ago, and were immediately sorry that we had waited so long to go back. If it is tranquillity you want, this is the place to go. A beautiful setting at the foot of the unspoilt Magaliesberg mountains offers peace and a chance to unwind. Great service and immaculate meals served with elegance and hospitality.

My First review was posted on Dec 2015. After 2 years we decided we decided to visit QM again. We yet need to visit any other place were we can call our second home. Again the accommodation is of the highest standard. Food that I can only describe as manna from Heaven. No expenses has been saved to create a beautiful Breakaway. What I mostly like is the way John interacts with his guests. As if you are been friends for years. QM will see much more of us on a more regular basis. Well done guys. Jacques and Greg

I have just returned from my 3rd or 4th visit to Quiet Mountain, and it was faultless. Beautifully located on a huge farm in a lovely garden setting near Hekpoort, with nothing but veld and trees between it and the granite topped Magaliesberg ridge to the northwest, the entire lodge and main thatched building accommodate only about 18 guests in total, although I have never been there with more than 5 or 6 others (usually interesting people) at the same time. The service is very personalised (but mostly unobtrusive between meals) and there is plenty of space to hang out and relax without having to make small talk. I stayed in suite # 6 this time which consisted of a cosy lounge with antique fireplace (which worked brilliantly in the single digit evening and morning
