If you are looking for a break away from the city craziness...look no further! This small farmhouse nestled in the valley a few meters from the Magalies River is the perfect hideaway. First bit of advise: Rent the whole house as the idea of sharing this little spot with anyone else...well, thats just not on! We spent days walking through the beautiful unspoilt forest down by the river where monkeys swing freely in the trees above you and the sound of flowing water soothes your soul. There is a stunning little splashpool, just perfect for cooling off after a long hot hike with a perfect wooden deck to catch up on your tan. Magical evenings were spent braaing as the the sun set over the magalies mountains and watching the fireflies darting between the trees in the forest. Perfect breakaway to restore the soul. There are quite a few places to visit during the day, Black Horse Brewery, Askari Game Lodge, Quad Biking across the road, Horse-riding close to Magalies and the little town of Magalies has its own gem of unique spots with a Spar and Bottle Store for all your basics. Take your own pool towels though - as the ones supplied are plush and WHITE! A few things we found "missing"but essential in any holiday home - Frying Pans, and egg beater and a tin opener. :-) Book your weekended getaway today!!!…

A beautiful, quaint getaway, hidden in nature, that just opens your heart and revives your soul. A short drive in to Hekpoort, yet a feeling that you are far away from the craziness of the city! With Lush greenery and a beautiful river stream passing by, it is the perfect place to recharge for a few days, or even a quick stop over on a long road trip to refresh your mind and body. All of this combined with the great hospitality of our amazing Hekpoort Heksie herself.
