Detailed Reviews

We were pleasantly surprised at what we received when we arrived. We made a block booking (one camp area with each paying for themselves). Our booking was extremely well managed, and no issues cropped up with large group of people.
Also understand that counsel owned campsites are not a good investment for the town councils and therefore they are not as willing to spend capital on these. They a keen on getting the fees, but improvements are for the managing concession holders account and with no guarantee of sticking around for the next season.
Graham and Ann do what they can and I have been treated with the outmost of respect. I salute you guys for keeping one of the last council owned campsites alive for so long (over 20 years). I will return again and again - I got what I paid for and am pleased with the facilities. Ablution clean and well-kept during December. Campgrounds kept clean despite all the wind, just all-round a good experience.
I will return any day.

Pros: Stands are nice but some are small so you will have to know the park to know if the stand allocated to you will be sufficient. The stands are separated by trees so you do have privacy and are not camping on top of your neighbor. Close to the beach.
Cons: The owners lack serious people skills and can be quite arrogant and brash
A fellow camper's tent was broken into and their laptops and Christmas presents were stolen. Apparently this has happened before as confirmed by other residents.
Even though there was a robbery reported to the owners they did not implement further security measures. There was no sign of security patrolling the park or additional security stationed at the gate.
There are no washing machines in the laundry room only hand wash basins.
The games room is in a serious state of disrepair and very dirty. The pool table is torn and dirty and the couches in the tv room are falling apart and have not been cleaned in a long time. There are old strips of carpet on the floor that are absolutely filthy.
This campsite is cheaper than most of the others in the Cape Town area but we will not be back

Dear Mrs Robins Pros: Thanks for your compliment on our very nice sites that we offer and accessibility to the nearby beach Cons: In the 25 years of managing this park, I must say we have never been labeled as "brash nor arrogant". Sorry to hear you feel this way. With regards to your neighbour Mr Wilson's isolated theft, which occurred during the day, please see our response to his review. We do not offer washing machine facilities as there is a full laundromat in the village, a mere 2km away, where they do everything for you right down to ironing. The games room, whilst not dirty, takes huge strain during a season and is currently been addressed. We are very sad to know that you feel this way about our park which we take huge pride in. Yours faithfully Graham & Ann Anderson

We had a lovely time camping at Imhoff Caravan Park! We were warmly welcomed by Ann on arrival. Security guard at gate 24/7.
Campsites: grassed, level, private and if you pick the right one, shaded.
Ablutions: not modern, but looks newly renovated and was spotless, showers were always hot.
Laundry: washing basins and washing lines. Laundromat in town.
Fellow campers: quiet, respectful and abided by "no noise after 10:30pm" rule.
Activities: short walk to beach. Mere 30min drive to Simon's Town.
Would HIGHLY recommend a stay here!

Turned up to stay in a seaview cottage it was mildly clean and the fan in the room was full of dirt
The cottage adjoining looked as if someone was permanently living in it
Driving through the campsite most of the stands and chalets were permanently occupied
The campsite looked scruffy and unkept and very unsafe
Unfortunately the description in the camping and caravan magazine as a three star site was totally misleading and we lost our 2250 deposit
Luckily we got a last minute good deal in fish hoek
My advise turn around and drive away!

Very sad that you feel this way.Admittedly when you arrived to stay on the 9th January, the caravan sites were very dry as we have severe water restrictions due to drought as well as the campsites had been fully occupied for 3 solid weeks. Also high winds were blowing the leaves all over the park. The park is very safe. We did however have a theft on the 7th January from a camp site, other than that no occurrences took place the entire season. Most of our business is "word of mouth" and repeats.

This place have a lot of potential but someone has let go of it, No working electricity , Broken glass on campsite etc. Bathrooms are dirty and very out dated, Hope someone comes around and save a gem like this for future campers.

We visited the caravan park for a stay of two weeks during April 2018. The first impressions of this park were not very promising as it appeared to be rather neglected, badly trashed in some areas and a strange smell caused by human excrement in the bushes on the dune between the park and the road. We covered that to get rid of the smell and moved to another site on the left side of the first road.
The ablution facilities were very basic but quite adequate and mostly very clean except over one weekend when no staff appeared to be available to do the required cleaning. This was very quickly and efficiently corrected by the management after we lodged our complaints about the situation.
It is clear from the general appearance that some decision had been made to limit investment in this park, which is quite unfortunate taking its location and the absence of good caravan parks in this area into consideration.

We stayed 1 night at the camp site. Reception of the receptionist was extremely friendly. There are a few permanent caravans at the camp. The ablution blocks were reasonably clean. Camp site is close to the ocean (3 mins walk), which is good. Ocean is very nice here with opportunity for surfing due to the "Kommetjie".
The camp sites themselves are not great, but fit for purpose.

We stayed 1 night at the camp site. The camp site is a mix between permanent caravans and a few short term camp sites. The ablution block was reasonably clean. The security staff was friendly and let us in after official closure. Camp site is close to the ocean, which is good.
The camp sites themselves are not very appealing and a bit run down. Good enough for a night, but would probably not return or stay there a longer time.

We stayed for two nights during a very pleasant weekend. We really had great weather. The stands are nice and very large with a braai facility and bin on every plot. The ablution facility was a few plots away and are very clean. The male side had water temperature problems but the ladies commented on the nice hot showers. The park has lots of potential but the current strict water restrictions and the obvious lack of maintenance funding for the roads and plots does not do the location any justice. Pleasant spot, low noise levels and it feels like a safe environment.
