Looking for somewhere different to stay and not too far from home. Well I found this little gem that I could not get enough of. From when you are met at reception by Jackie until you leave, you are treated like family. Neat, well kept tents spread out throughout the camp. Beach walk close by. Perfect braai area with large communal kitchen. Showers a highlight - open window over looking the vegetation. We will be back. Thank you for an awesome weekend.
Our family of 3 had a superb time on a last minute getaway to Slangkop. Loved that it was a quick drive from home yet you were surrounded by mountains behind you and the sea in front of you. The ablution facilities were always clean and tidy. Loved the sunset from the balcony at the communal kitchen. Braai area is sheltered which is great for those windy nights. We did miss having a bonfire though... Great for groups, families and couples. Fridge space in the kitchen can be an issue if you're not the first group to book in... But there's a convenience store a short walk from the camp. Hope to be back soon...
Comes with full bedding and towels. The sunset view phenomenal. The close drive to Cape Point is worth it. Make sure you take a great bottle of wine to enjoy the sunset from your tent. The kitchen is well equipped.
Situated about one hour from Cape town this accommodation was perfect for a quiet camp type stay. There are about six tents spaced amongst trees and bushes with your own privacy. Each tent contains two single beds either side of the tent length with a small veranda at the end seaward looking. The tent is enclosed in a corrugated outer shell to give protection against the rain and Sun depending on which season it is. The access is by a boardwalk and this takes you to a toilet/shower area at one end and a large communal hut nearer the main entrance. In this is a cooking/washing up section with adequate bases to prepare food. One side of the communal open area is covered to allow for eating outside in times of rain, wind etc and you can use the" braai" to cook your steaks BBQ style. Although not as bad as some areas in South Africa, this location still requires you to lock yourself in or out which, makes sense on account of the sparsely populated location. At night the lighthouse is automatically activated and it is easy to be mesmerised by the long beam as it shines out to sea and inland. There are a number of shops in the locality and Boulders,a seaside town, is not far away where a penguin colony is worth a visit.…
