I highly recommend staying at this property. The rooms and grounds are nice, new, and provide all of the modern comforts of home. The hospitality of the staff was over the top (from the warm towels upon arrival and after an excursion, cleaning our muddy boots after hiking, and making sure every little thing was attended to) - special thanks to Latifa and Jose for all of their hard work and assistance. The food was great, and the amenities everything you would want. The property is located right down the road from the new Ellen DeGeneres Campus, and it is a perfect location to all of the activities at Volcanoes National Park (driving to and from excursions is kept to a minimum from this location).
We stayed during their soft opening, and they are scheduled to fully open the week after we left. As it is a new property, there were not many reviews online, but do not hesitate to book. We're pretty discerning, and I would definitely recommend.

This place was absolutely amazing. This is close to the gorilla trekking so you don’t have to drive far to the gorilla national park meeting point.

Service - Jeanne in the restaurant was excellent, she was always friendly, professional, and made my husband and I feel welcomed. The gentleman at the reception (who’s name was French and started with a P) was excellent too, very professional and welcoming. The service from the trainee at the reception desk, James, to the gentleman who cleaned our boots and gators were awesome!

Food & Rooms - The food was the best food we had in Rwanda. They did a great job welcoming you back with a hot towel, clean slippers so that they can take our dirty shoes from trekking and clean them. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable.

Stay thoughtfully designed around guest needs considering trekking is probably why you're there - early breakfast and takeaway lunch available, the loan of equipment (gaiters in my case) was much appreciated and the boot cleaning top quality! Generously sized rooms and 3 course meals with a nice variety of options available. Friendly staff and great location just a little out of town which was very conveniently close to where my treks began/ended.

This is a relatively new hotel, very well located, walking distance from the new Ellen DeGeneres Center and close to the park entrance. The gardens are beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. Most importantly, for me anyway, it had good pillows, linens and bedding. It seems to me that most hotels in the area are either $3000ish/night or $100ish/night. There are a handful in the $500/night range including Virunga Inn. The more expensive properties were not an option for me but along with a fantastic gorilla trek, I don't feel like I missed out on anything. The staff was very warm and the food was great. The owner was at the property and made certain to introduce himself to everyone. That always impresses me. It was a good choice.

My husband and myself stayed at Virunga after our Gorilla trekking. It is an excellent hotel with garden views and we were welcomed by the friendly staff who also cleaned our dirty shoes after our trekking immediately! The chef went an extra mile to cook us an Indian cuisine.

I had the pleasure of staying at Virunga Inn Resort & Spa. This is a very nice cozy location with a spectacular view of volcanos from the outdoor dining area. The staff is wonderful, very welcoming and are attentive to all your needs. I highly recommend this place if you plan to visit the Musanze district in Rwanda for hiking or Gorilla's tour.

WOW! This is a really nice property, located quite close to trekking, so it was not only nice, but convenient. The rooms were quite spacious, and patios very private. Unfortunately, the spa was not operational during our visit, so I cannot speak to that, but the staff was incredible!

We were greeted and treated like royalty from the beginning of our stay to our departure. Upon our return from our gorilla trek, staff actually collected our shoes, socks and gators and returned them to us later that day sparkling clean. This was the only accommodation that didn’t charge extra for a special coffee, such as a mocha or cappuccino.

We loved it!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are superb and can’t do enough for you to make your stay more comfortable. The food is excellent. The rooms are surrounded by beautiful plants and trees and the birds are colourful and stunning it’s a really tranquil place to stay and relax after a mornings trekking to visit the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. I can also recommend a visit to the spa for a massage.
