Such a lovely hotel. Right on the beach and felt v well looked after. Food was amazing and enjoyed breakfasts and dinner on the terrace watching the waves and sunsets. Quite unique in small hotel right on beach, feels like luxury without being a resort hotel.
My wife and I recently checked into the Boathouse at Kata for a mini break. The hotel is located adjacent to the beach and in consequence the fabulous vista is immediately apparent. Having dealt with the check-in formality which was conducted by friendly and efficient reception staff we were shown to our room which overlooked the pool and beach. Our room which was an ocean view suit was very comfortable and provided many amenities which was perfect for our needs. The hotel has been long renowned for its kitchen and in this regard executive chef Jonathan Bruell continues the tradition of outstanding cuisine. On One of our nights Jonathan prepared an eight course tasting menu for us that was absolutely delicious through out. Amongst the dishes were Homok accompanied with rock lobster cooked in a seafood bisque flavoured with Tom Yam spices, one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. Through out our stay the staff could not do any more to make our stay a wonderful experience and the General Manager Eric Weber was always on hand to ensure you felt like one of the family. I can’t praise The Boathouse too highly and would recommend it to anyone for a stay. My wife and I will certainly ensure we visit again …
The Boathouse is a special place to stay. It is one of only hotels that front directly on Kata Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. When the surf is up, you can surf directly on the hotel beach and when the water is calm, you can snorkel along the rocks at the edge of the water. You'll find large colorful fish right offshore. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with the 'Boathouse' theme carried out tastefully and the rooms and common areas. It's a week that I will remember for a long time, and I certainly plan to return. I slept very well as the bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning just right, the room perfectly quiet, and the blackout curtain very effective.
I recently stayed for 2 weeks at The Boathouse, which sits right on Kata Beach. It’s a beautiful hotel, with a friendly staff that will make you feel like family. The hotel restaurant serves wonderful food, with a combination of Thai & western cuisine. They also have a limited but very good selection of wines & spirits. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a nautical theme. You would think that this would be tacky, but it isn't. It is elegant and (as a sailor myself) I feel like I'm on a billionaire's yacht. A tasteful billionaire. 😉
A very enjoyable lunch at The Boathouse overseen by Chef Jonathan. We both chose to start with the Foie Gras with summer truffle ravioli with a Morel sauce which was absolutely outstanding. For Main course, we ordered the slow twice cooked duck breast with red curry sauce and the very healthy option of Thai style steamed sea bass with a super fresh papaya salad and wild rice. Our dessert of citrus cured meringue parfait and blackcurrant coulis was very refreshing on the palate. Despite the weather, a wonderful lunch venue watching a rugged sea today. Great service and very well looked after from start to finish. Well done The Boathouse Team!
