The Palmery Resort is heralded as a peaceful and luxurious retreat, where guests are met with well-appointed rooms and tranquil pool areas. Its value is often praised, offering spacious accommodations and quality amenities at reasonable rates. The staff's friendliness and professionalism shine through in their attentive service, including shuttle provisions.
While most travelers enjoy the roomy, well-kept spaces with pool access, a few suggest some rooms could benefit from a refresh. Its location near Kata Beach strikes a balance between seclusion and convenience, only a short walk from the beach and local amenities. The hotel's cleanliness and maintenance, especially of its pools and rooms, are also highly regarded, although a handful of guests mention that certain areas might need more attention.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here February 2020.
Our room was much bigger than we expected. It had a large kingsize bed that was very comfy including the pillows. Lots of desk/table space as well as hangers for clothes etc. There was a big bathroom and mirror with a large shower space that had a shower head or waterfall option and a large bathtub (we didn't use). Fresh towels and linen service available everyday if you request it that also includes a refresh the free bottled water (2 small bottles). Lots of electrical outlets and a great wifi connection and a big TV with a good selection of channels. There is a patio outside which is nice to enjoy your morning coffee listening to the birds.
We used the gym everyday but it is very basic, treadmill, bike, incline bench and dumbells up to 22kg if I remember correctly. It has A/C and is a stand alone building. Anymore than 2 people in the gym is too much. The pool is nice, 3 sections - deep, shallow and sitting levels with adjustable chairs and umbrellas on the patio.
***Tip*** Make sure you get a room with pool access (not pool view), when I booked I didn't see this option and it would have been so much better if we had this room. Pool access gets you a room with a pool attached to your suite although it is shared with about 5 other rooms but is totally worth it. We tried to change to this room but I think the front desk forgot we asked both times.
They have an in-house restaurant but we didn't eat there during our stay, we saw a lot of other people dining there mostly during breakfast and lunch.
The location is good but it is a bit far to walk about 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk. They do have a shuttle but it only runs on the hour, it would be nice if it was more frequent.
Also very important was the staff were very friendly, special shout out to May for getting us settled in and Fawn for keeping our room nice everyday!

We have stayed here several times since it first opened in 2013. No refurbishment has been carried out as far as we can see since then but everything in our room worked and was clean. Things maybe just look a little old.
The pool access rooms are a real treat. Rooms 1101 to 1105 get sun from about 12 to 5pm in January/February. Not all pool access rooms do get sun all day so if sun is important then bear this in mind.
The bathrooms have a separate bath and shower. The bath is large and comfortable.
There is a fridge in the room. A large wardrobe. An electronic safe. Tea and coffee making facilities.
The wifi worked brilliantly while we were there. We have had problems in the past but on this visit it didn't go off once.
The staff here are either super friendly or really miserable. The Bell Boy is constantly sat with his head in his phone and ignores you as you go past.
Be careful with towels. I believe you are supposed to receive two pool towels, two bath towels and two hand towels per day. If the cleaning staff don't leave them you'll be accused of loosing them! I don't need to spend 10 minutes at reception when I check out assuring the staff that I have not lost a hand towel!
Despite the staff, we would stay here again. The sizes of the rooms for the money is excellent value.
Location is lovely and quiet yet walking distance from essential amenities such as local restaurants and convenience stores and bars and laundry. Plenty of secure parking if you hire a motorbike. A shuttle bus runs hourly to and from the beach however we did not use this service so couldn't comment on it.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The staff were all lovely and most helpful; the room was very clean even if the bed wasn't made every day. The location is convenient, a short tuk-tuk ride or walk from the (packed) beach. But.....
The breakfast was pretty average with the same uninspired choices every single day, and often running out of fruit and baked goods. The restaurant and bar were otherwise deserted at any time other than breakfast, so there's no chance of chatting to any other guests over a Leo. I feel like there's a missed opportunity there (happy hour, anyone?). That's OK though, you can walk just a few minutes and have a lot of great restaurant choices. Also, room service was delicious and exceptionally cheap (about AU$7 for a main meal).
The major failing? (which I accept is not really the fault of the hotel) - the other guests. If you’re Russian and you love to shout at your friends rather than talking to them and if you refuse to even make eye contact with anyone else, much less nod to them, you’ll likely find your tribe here.
If you’re not, and you like to speak at a normal volume, and you also like to at least acknowledge other guests and staff with a smile, maybe you won’t. I don’t know why they bother, they’re all so effing miserable. They’re not as prevalent in Khao Lak, Patong or Phuket so I'm not sure what the Kata attraction is. For this reason I won't be back.

Dear Natalie H, Thank you for chosen us as a destination to stay and kind spend time for reviewing us with valuable feedback. Somehow, I do apologize for a failed of Breakfast on once dining experience. I did address the feedback to our Executive Chef to acknowledge and he is certainly noted to bring this topic to talk with his team. It would definitely improve for the quality. I wish you are arriving home safely and just these kind of issue is not marked up your trust in The Palmery Resort. We are looking forward to welcome you back again in the nearest future. Best regards, Thitirat T.

The room cleanliness can’t be faulted at all. The reception staff were friendly but were mostly on their mobile phones.
The hotel itself is soulless no chit chat going on.
The loudness of the Russians was nobodies business. Can’t even give you eye contact let alone say hello. Which I know isn’t the hotels fault.
Breakfast was the same most mornings the only good thing was if you ordered eggs they arrived pretty quick, also the egg chef was really friendly.
This hotel could really do with some money being spent on it. The tables around pool were dropping to bits as well as the loungers which were nearly all broken. Nobody cleaned plates and empty bottles from around the pool. Although people could of tidied up after themselves.
We had a swim up pool which other adults letting their children play in screaming and shouting unsupervised until well after midnight with no courtesy for other paying guests.
Reception soon put pay to noise level once it is complained about.
Great location. 10 mins from beach.
Probably won’t be back due to no atmosphere.
The Ming restaurant across the road was where we spent most nights eating. Very cheap and great company.
The swim up room was very dirty and the children were playing with glasses and ash trays and thought that was appropriate.

This hotel has rooms with pool access, where you can go to the pool straight from your room backdoor. I highly recommend pool access room. Room cleanup usually happens around 3pm so it's quite late. Wifi works fine but it logs you out two times per day automatically. You have to pay extra for wifi. This hotel have no motorbike rental. Breakfast at this covid time is a mess. You order the breakfast to your table, but you almost never get exactly what you ordered. Sometimes you are missing a toast, sometimes your scrambled eggs are missing. But at least you get something for the money you paid for. Rooms have safety box, good a/c, big TV, fridge and electric water kettle ( so you can make your own coffee, or instant noodles). Good value for the money is my opinion.

Beautiful hotel which looks just like the pictures used to advertise.
Rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the staff were genuinely friendly. They contributed to the relaxing environment.
Having a room with pool access was an incredible experience! The only drawback was hearing loud children splashing around. Would be good if some pool view rooms were allocated as adults only.
But in reality that was a small price to pay for an overall exceptional stay.
Room service was reasonably priced and served high quality food and drinks.
There is a regular shuttle service to the beach. It is walking distance, however there is no pavement and it is a busy road. But there are lots of restaurants and massages parlours surrounding the hotel.
Overall a wonderful stay, thank you to al the staff ✌

Great check-in process which included a complimentary beverage, and each block of rooms having their own pool, right outside was a great and unexpected bonus. The breakfast buffet was quick and delicious and included a custom omelette bar as well as a changing variety of Thai dishes and fresh fruit. The hotel is enough off the beaten path that your not subject to non-stop traffic noise, yet it's a short walk to the food stands, great restaurants, and the beach.
When we had difficulty securing a ride to the airport on January 1st, the hotel staff went above and beyond and personally drove us to the airport for the same price as the cab would have been. We would not have made our flight out, otherwise.

Service : 10/5 ..Most staff can communicate well in English. Everyone was extremely polite and courteous. They always put a smile on our faces with their greetings.
Location: 6/5 massages, laundry, beaches, great food options, good weed everything you'd want is close by
Room and Facilities: 4/5 the resort is a bit old so there is some wear and tear in the rooms and resort grounds but nothing that could dampen your mood... Initially I had some problems withe the air conditioning and the bathroom had a weird smell but a change of rooms and an air freshener solved them. Bed is average but pillows are fluffy. Pool is nice and clean and never too crowded. Rooms have big balconies with two beach chairs. Slippers, beach towels and umbrellas are provided by the resort along with free shuttle to kata and karon beaches.
Food: 10/5 .. We had booked breakfast with our rooms and in hindsight this was the best decision of our trip. The breakfast buffet was something we looked forward to during our stay in phuket. Plenty of variety and great taste. Shoutout to Chef Xin and his amazing, cheesy omlettes.

We have been staying at the Palmery over the years since the very first day it opened. This recent one week stay was one of our best.
We booked a pool access room and once again it didn’t disappoint. The rooms here are so spacious. You don’t get many hotel rooms this size, especially for the price. You have plenty of space for all of your things and don’t feel claustrophobic like you can in some hotel rooms when you unpack and have all of your luggage and things around. The bed is huge and so comfortable. A lovely chaise lounge for relaxing. Bedding is crisp. Aircon works well. Bathrooms have a separate bath and shower. From the sliding patio doors you walk onto your private sunbathing area with two loungers and two steps down into the pool. Bear in mind that the step in and out of the pool is big so anyone with slight mobility issues may need a hand to steady them as they get in and out. Someone was cleaning the pool each morning as it can gather leaves when windy but it was generally well kept. We had sun all day from about 10 to 5.
We had breakfast included and it was very pleasant. The usual toast, fruit and cereal and teas and coffees and fruit juices. And egg and waffle station where eggs and waffles were cooked to order. The breakfast restaurant is right by the lobby and had a lovely breeze blowing through each morning.
We hired scooters and there was ample parking outside for us. We also used Bolt taxis for the first time in Phuket this year and they all picked up from the hotel no problem. The hotel is set back from the busy beach road but the hotel run a shuttle service every couple of hours to the beach. We didn’t use it. There are plenty of bars and cafes and restaurants in walking distance too. The red chair which is a 2 minute walk does the best Thai Food.
The staff here were very polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Any small query we had was handled efficiently and effectively.
We didn’t want to leave The Palmery as we really did have such a great stay. We can’t wait to go back and stay again soon.

The staff are the Palmery are superb! All staff members were unfailingly and delightfully friendly to us throughout our stay. My wife, son and I would like to give a special mention to the two ladies who are in charge of the restaurant at breakfast time and through the day. They were so genuinely nice that it really added to our enjoyment of our stay. The front desk staff too were really pleasant, courteous, helpful and very professional. My impression was that this is due to the young lady who is the manager, and who leads a really excellent team. Thank you To all of them for a great stay!
Our room was clean, bright and comfortable, and the layout around the small canal-type pools gave quite a secluded atmosphere.
The location is a shortish walk to the busy Kata beach and there's a 2-hourly shuttle service to there and Karon through the daytime. Nearby restaurants give a good range of Thai and international options. We especially enjoyed the Istanbul Turkish restaurant. Really top-quality food at reasonable prices. If you decide that the bustle of Kata is for you then I highly recommend the Palmery. Thanks to all there again for a lovely stay!

Yes, we provide the beach towel for our guest and that will be 2 beach towels each room.
