'In the family' since the 1600s Chateau La Touanne is a well kept place with respect for history. I would call it a 'boutique chateau'. Nice service by the owners, very nice rooms, good breakfast, ideally located to visit Orléans.
this is a lovely castle situated in the Loire valley; we stayed in the chateau for a couple of days, and it was a real pleasure and great experience; the rooms are spacious and decorated with taste; the owners are friendly and do their upmost for you to feel special; the little gem is an address to keep
My husband and I stayed here for one night on our honeymoon. The chateau is incredibly beautiful and Nicholas and Christine were fantastic hosts! We took a brisk walk through the grounds before a lovely, traditional french breakfast. After touring castles and chateaus for days, it was incredible to actually spend the night in a history-filled chateau that has obviously been up-kept with great care. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Thank you Nicholas and Christine!
We stayed here as a family to explore the region. The hosts provided us with a very warm welcome and lots of useful advice re bike hire and local attractions. The chateau is in excellent condition and the facilities are spotless. Great breakfast too! I look forward to our next visit.
We are 4 retired international managers (US, GB, Sweden and Swiss) and meet regularly at outstanding places of this world together with our wives. La Touanne is a perfect place to explore the Loire châteaux and Orléans and to spend time with friends. Christine and Nicolas d’Aboville are excellent hosts, caring for their guests as well as for their perfectly preserved château.
This is a lovely chateau with close access to the Chateaux de la Loire, Chambord, Chaumont sur Loire, Cheverny. We were not in the main building but facing the stables which was a wonderful bedroom upstairs with spacious bathroom and walk in shower. This space would be great for a family as there is another bedroom available and sitting/tv room downstairs kitchen and extra bathroom! The grounds are well kept and it is very peaceful. Our breakfast was delicious croissants and brie were outstanding and portions very generous. The owners Nicolas and Christine are very welcoming and made great suggestions for dining and visiting Merci!
Chateau La Touanne is a lovely family owned chateau in the Loire valley. The hosts Christine and Nicholas are gracious, helpful, and there for whatever you need. The Chateau itself is enchanting, it has been kept up and decorated beautifully. Our room was fantastic, just what you would hope for, historic beauty and modern convenience. Taking a walk around the grounds is also well worth your time, the paths are clearly marked and the property is lovely. I will absolutely stay there again and highly recommend you do as well!
We stayed here for 3 nights on our recent French road trip. Our room was huge with a lovely modern bathroom. The breakfasts were delicious and we spent several hours relaxing by the pool as it was very hot during our stay. It is worth exploring the grounds as there is a lovely walk by the river. There does not appear to be food available at the moment as we were never offered any, it's about 6 km from the nearest town, Meung sur Loire and no taxis are available so for eating dinner in the evening the only option is to drive. Christine is very helpful in suggesting places to visit and we took her advice to go to the chateau in Meung which was fascinating and definitely worth seeing.
A ravishingly pretty chateau set in beautiful grounds, beautifully restored and very comfortable. Christine and Nicolas were charming hosts and had it not been for Christine's suggestion we wouldn't have visited the Chateau de Chambord, Francois I's extraordinary hunting lodge at the next day, which was the most wonderful treat. We'd love to go back.
A wonderful Château where we spent a glorious 4 days. Christine and Nichola are warm, gracious and kind and looked after us in every possible way, including dinner when we arrived late. The rooms are lovely and clean and beautifully decorated with spectacular views of the estate. Food was lovely and it was an unforgettable holiday. Fabulous!! Mark & Alexandra Australia
