Safely situated along the Mozambique meandering Route 71, on the Big 5 doorstep of the Kruger National Park, Kilima Private Game Reserve and Spa welcome tourists and locals alike to relax and enjoy the beautiful Murchison Mountain Range, scarce game breeds and inspiring activities on offer. We have 20 luxury room options, wheelchair-friendly, family-suites, honeymoon and our ultra luxurious King suite, to name but a few. All our newly refurbished rooms are en-suite with a view of the lush bushveld and sparkling pool. We dearly value each guest and want to tailor your visit with us. Included in our rate is a game drive and a selection of treatments offered at our beautifully unique Kukura Wellness Spa. For the romantics we have a special private bush-picnic, and for the adventurous, we offer a walk to the Mapungubwe-linked ruins. We boast our very own huge Baobab which is thought to be over 600 years old. From the Baobab Deck you can view the sunset after your game drive before you return to the lodge where you’ll be spoiled with a gourmet 4-course dinner prepared by a professional chef. We invite you to experience our warm hospitality that echo’s through the style and flavour of each and every one of our guests. Since there is only a limited choice on the menu each day ,a daily change of menu would be a good idea .The rooms and the property are tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The staff is courteous and obliging and overall the experience is an excellent one.

We brought business clients to stay and conference at Kilima for a week. We were treated in style as our clients needs were met with smiles from the thoughtful staff. The food was a highlight for all. Gourmet meals were abounding. Thank you Kilima for a fantastic visit.

On arrival, the manageress lied to us (2 couples together) about the availability of game drives that we could attend, forcing us to go on a game drive when we were not happy to, in order to still use our game drive opportunities. On our first night, it took 2 and a half hours for our dinner to arrive after we had ordered. Once the food arrived, it was cold. Portions sizes were also not the same for each person who had ordered the same dish. There was also no provision made for the other couple, who were vegetarian and had emailed Kilima a week prior to our stay to inform them of this. The manageress, when confronted with our complaints, simply stated that the receptionist had not passed on that information to the chef. This is totally unacceptable! The food over the rest of the trip was really uninspiring, and dull. The service was also lackluster, apart from Andries who assisted us on our last night at Kilima. He was fantastic. Staying at Kilima over the same period as us was a family with two small children, who screamed and caused havoc non-stop. No interventions were taken by Kilima staff when the children screamed at their dinner table (next to ours) and played loud videos on their iPads, which their parents obviously ignored. All the above concerns were raised with the staff during our stay, who just stated that they were underprepared because they had accepted more bookings than they had expected for our stay. In terms of activities during your stay, you will have to plan to leave the lodge during the day to keep entertained, as there is not much to do - there is a spa, a pool and a gym. We used our mornings and afternoons to explore other places near Tzaneen and Hoedspruit as there really is nothing to keep you busy if you are someone who is a busy body.
