Small hotel located at the exit of the village of Dingboche uphill. Rudimentary shower in a cabin outside, washbasin also outside. It becomes difficult to wash...
Toilet on the landing for two bedrooms, all on the ground floor. Unfortunately our room was located next to the living room; lots of toilet passages...Hard to sleep...The stove is fed by dried yak dung. We're over 4,000 meters, no more trees.

This lodge is definitely one of the better lodges on the trek. We had a very sunny room with an en-suite toilet - no basin unfortunately. The dining room was warm, the service very friendly and efficient and the food, fresh and tasty. We had breathtaking views of Ama Dablam from the dining room too! They didn't offer wi-fi, but there is another lodge close by that does have it. We celebrated a birthday there - the lodge arranged for a cake and candles after dinner as well as a bottle of good Australian wine. They really try very hard to make it fabulous - and in my opinion, they succeed!

We came from the very nice Rivendell Lodge in Deboche and unfortunately couldn’t find a lodge of a similar standard in Dingboche. As this lodge has ensuite bathrooms, and we couldn’t see anything else that looked better, we decided to stay here. The ensuite bathrooms are very basic with just a toilet that you flush with a bucket and there is no hand basin. There is a hand basin outside the restaurant that has running water from a small water container. However, these ensuite bathrooms are still better than a common bathroom. The ensuite rooms are about NPR 500 per night. We had the furthest room which juts out from the rest of the building. It should be the quietest room particularly since it only shares a wall with one other room. This lodge is at the far end of the village on the left hand side.

The restaurant serves good food and has good views although the seating doesn’t take advantage of it. The Manager is young but friendly and helpful. They lit the fire at about 4 p.m. and it was warm.

We stayed 2 nights and were told that an Indian group of about 14 people would be staying the 2nd night. Although this group was friendly they were unfortunately very noisy (apparently like a lot of Indian groups) and took over the whole restaurant. After one of them was sick over a restaurant table we decided to eat our evening meal at another lodge to get some respite. As they have quite a few bookings from Indian groups I would check if they have any groups staying there before deciding to stay.

Room Tip: Room at far end of lodge is in the best location for quietness.
