One of the most amazing guesthouses we've ever stayed at. It felt like an oasis in the desert. We really enjoyed the pool and what must definitely be the best breakfast in the Northern Cape! The service was excellent, and we really appreciated the small personal touches in the room, especially the battery powered lights during load-shedding!

Receive a warm welcome and outstanding hospitality from the pleasant host. Take a step back into history with an overnight stay at this bnb gem! Cheerful rooms filled with South African old world character and charm.
The bed was comfortable and warm on a chilly winter night. The breakfast boasted exceptional croissants and an omelette never to be forgotten. The price is market related yet the quality of this stay can't be beaten. Thank you Annie's!

Lovely 4 night stay in our bright and sunny room. Lovely helpful staff and a lekker breakfast!

Our room was clean and had everything we could need with a fridge, tea making facilities.

We were close to town too and good secure parking which was important for our 4x4.

We have used this guesthouse in the past because of its good reputation, but it seems to have changed hands since then and has definitely gone downhill. It was a very disappointing stay as everything is neglected. Our bedroom light could not be switched on from the entrance door, the light fitting/fan was missing a fan blade as well as a bulb. The bathroom had two large plastic containers sitting on the floor which we did not know what they were for and on top of that we had no hot water for our shower. The magazines in the room were as old as from 2004. We had very noisy guests in the room next door and could hear every single word through the obviously very thin walls.
When we went for breakfast there was no clean laid table and no fresh fruit left. The tariff was excessive for the quality of the rooms and the breakfast. We will definitely not use this guesthouse again nor recommend it to anyone.

Annie's cottage is great as a one night stopover destination. The room was good, location convenient and breakfast fine. If a comfortable, convenient stopover is what you are after, this is a good choice.

Lovely guest house, great breakfast buffet, reasonably priced.
Convenient stopover if you're travelling between CT and Namibia. Good base to explore the Goegap Nature Reserve and see the flowers in bloom.

My wife and myself stooped in Annie's Cottage on our way from Windhoek to Cape Town. The service was friendly and it was a beautiful experience for us. The owner, Pet, has a friendly hand on her business and the staff is well trained and diligent. Gardens are gorgeous and the decoration beautiful to the detail. Have a look to the salt and pepper. Worth it.

After a long drive through the dry dessert it was a wonderful welcome to Annie's Cottage with an oasis garden of lush green foliage and gentle water features. Both the house and the room we stayed in were delightful - a rambling artist's collection of trinkets and magical finds and plenty of books to relax on the pretty patio with their excellent quality coffee. The breakfast was a feast and overall a wonderful experience. I will certainly be back!!

Gauteng

My wife and I recently spent two weeks travelling from Port Elizabeth to the Western Cape and back to Gauteng via various destinations along the famous South African flower route. In each destination we stayed in 4 star guest houses which were all magnificent apart from our night in Sprinbok.
On arrival at the gate we were let into the car park and my wife had to locate the reception by finding her way through the house to get there. On entering the establishment she found it very dark and dingy and was immediately hessitant about the accommodation. Having signed a registration document she was shown to the allocated room which disappointed her even more. The room was sandwiched between the eating room and the kitchen, was very small, and decorated in Turkish Harlem colours. Needless to say when she came back to the car she told me about this and said she was not happy to stay in this so called 4 star accomodation as it was far below the standard of any of the other 4 star accommodation we had stayed in. We then left the premises and went to look for eating establishments of which there are very few in Springbok. During this time and after further discussion we decided to phone Annie's Cottage to tell them of our disappointment and explaining that it was still early in the day and we would there for like to push on to Kakamas. The owner was very unaccommodating and frankly quite non negotiable on the issue. Needless to say we were therefore forced to stay the night which gave me the opportuniy to see the place for myself. The room was small and cluttered, with a huge old wooden cupboard taking up more space than necessary. There was a metal suitcase rack which was occupied by a bar fridge and the lighting so poor one could not see in the mirror to do one's hair. The bathing facilities consisted of a room no more than one and a half meters square containing the wash basin, loo and shower cubicle. The disappointing issue here apart from the smallness was that half way the my morning shower the hot water stopped flowing and I ended up having a cold shower. Breakfast served in the dinning area was cold and the eggs and bacon had gotten plasticy as the food is conveyed from the kitchen to the eating area via an outside walkway. All of this for R 600 each per night was a rip off.

This was return visit to a delightful, if quirky, guesthouse in Springbok. We were welcomed back and thoughtfully given the room we had stayed in previously. It was easy to book online. The room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom with an antique bath. Mini bar and tea/coffee facilities were included. The breakfast was excellent and included a beautifully prepared omelette! Attractive gardens with lots of places to sit and relax. The staff provided information regarding local amenities and restaurants - limited on a Sunday evening. Parking is secure. Resident cat very friendly.
