Detailed Reviews
this was a bad joke ,arriving early we were told to come back after 3pm as guests were on a drive ,and had not checked out yet.rooms cramped no bedside working lights,a bedhead which collapsed as it was not secured ,a jacuzzi bath which filled half with hot water, paper thin walls ,a neurotic chef serving breakfast.sorry this is an overrated b/b ,cannot find a redeeming point, book somewhere else.

The owner Rudie was welcoming and the honesty bar was a nice touch. The Highgate Room was roomy but the toilet is in front of the bed and offers no privacy at all. The Harvestime Room does not have an ensuite bathroom and you must go across the corridor to use the bathroom. I do not know if other guests at the b&b use this bathroom as well. The views from the outside balcony were lovely. The hot breakfast was good and plentiful. However, I forgot my pink fleece inside the room when we checked out and when I tried to pick it up the next morning, Rudie was not interested in helping me find it. I would be careful of leaving things at the b&b as you may not get it back.

We arrived and were met by the owner, were signed in and shown our room. it looked nice on the inside, we went out for dinner , we came back and wanted to bath but the place ran out of hot water as it was full and the baths are so big and take a lot of water,so we had to go without. It shouldnt have happened.
The room was very cold , it had a draught and we had to put the heater on which is on the air conditioner. The floors move around and we could feel the people in the room opposite moving around .We had breakfast on the 1st morning and we wernt asked what we would like, we were given a very small bowl of cereal then wernt offered tea or coffee, we were given a very greasy plate of 2 eggs, bacon and a small sausage and toast, it made me feel ill later on. The owner should ask us how we want our eggs and how many etc. I think if they carry on like this they wont last long. So Beware before you go there, Springbok dosnt have much to do only to see the flowers at this time of the year. Good luck You have been warned.

Having booked 2 months ahead on Booking.com and paid a deposit, we were pretty sure of our booking. We also called ahead from Springbok two hours ahead to advise our arrival time. But when we got to the property gate (off the highway outside Springbok) we were rudely told by Rudi through the intercom that we had no booking, and that it was Booking.com's fault, and that they always made mistakes. We pointed out we had a confirmation email, and a credit card receipt for the night's stay. Rudi would not even let us in the gate to discuss it, but turned us away with zero help to find other accommodation, and had complete amnesia about the earlier call advising our arrival time, when he acknowledged my name and gave me driving directions. This was at the height of the flower season, in a remote town. We're still waiting for a refund, but this guy obviously sold the room out from under us and didn't want to face up to it.
Fortunately, Anne's guest house in town, although full, called around and found us a spot at a much nicer place.

We had to pack our stuff and find another guest house after the owner stole our wine and disspaeared. No service at all. Was a pity as the place is beautiful, but all the other rooms were empty and there was tampered with our stuff.

Was difficult to find location. The rooms were laid out strangely. Advertised as en suite but you have to walk out of your room into a public passage to get to your so called en suite bathroom. No chest of drawers of hanging space for clothing, the rooms are spacious but inadequate. The location of this B&B is stunning such a pity that the accommodation is so mediocre. Breakfast was not generous!

Very small rooms and bathroom outside of bedroom. Shower needs a fix. Breakfast was really poor. From Highway, it is hard to see the sign, do not turn to Springbok. Beware of mosquitos, they are plenty. Overall a very simple place.

We were charged twice and we had to stay over 1 extra night to recover our money. To phone Rudi is useless and if we did not meet by accident at the gate we may still have been outside. The house is really beautifull and so everything inside. The place is perfectly clean including the kitchen. Having timber floors it is a bit noisy and the communal bathrooms could be both en suites. The views are fantastic. I think if management can pull things together it will be a very nice place to stay

Our welcome by the owner's assistant and the help that he gave us with our baggage was great. But then, last night's braai on the stoep had not be cleaned and it smelt, a fridge in the room, but no ice, we battled to open the window and door, and had we known in advance about the arrangement with the accommodation, we would definitley not have booked there. The floor that we were on had two bedrooms and two bathrooms with zero privacy. Thank goodness there was no one else staying there. Breakfast, cooked by the same assistant was good, but will not stay there again

En route from Cape Town to Windhoek, we found this to be a fabulous place to stop over. Next to the N7 but far enough off the road to be quite peaceful with lovely open views. Springbok trot past on the front lawn of the stilted timber 'house'. The building and fittings are immaculately maintained and the attention to detail is wonderful to see. Once they start serving dinners as they say they will, this place will be totally perfect.
