We stayed here as we were going to visit the spring flowers in Namaqualand. The Hotel is centrally located in Springbok. It has a very old-fashioned feeling about it - all the furniture would not be out of place in a 50s or 60s film! Rooms were comfortable and vary in size - among our small group we had rooms which would have been the size of a suite in Europe, but also 'normal' sized rooms. While the Management team were very friendly and helpful, the Receptionist was the most surly and unfriendly we have ever met - never even said 'hello' to guests coming in to get their keys! We didn't eat in the Hotel - while there is a large dining room, it never seemed to have anyone eating there - prices are so much higher than restaurants in the town that it made no sense.

Good Day! Thank you for your reply. We became aware of the situation as mentioned regarding Reception and we have corrected that as such. We do apologize for that! As for the reply describing the Hotel as "Old Fashioned" - We are trying to bring back some of the old nostalgia of a Country Side Hotel in years gone by in our Region/Town. We do appreciate your feedback whether positive or negative, it is our strive to better ourselves in the process. We trust you were not disappointed with the flowers in our region as it is every year very special. Kind Regards Pieta v/d Walt Manager

We stayed over on our way to Namibia en two weeks later on our way back to Cape Town. This old colonial hotel was a pleasure to visit. The supper and breakfast buffets were laden with special food. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms are all en-suite and have air-conditioners and televisions.

We stayed here for one night during the week and overall had a good experience.

We paid 620.00R for a double room which was huge (excluding breakfast)! The staff at reception where very friendly and welcoming.

The room was a bit vintage-like and was comfortable.

Cleanliness overall was okay but could do with cleaning the window ledge in the shower (room 28).

Also, this is the first hotel I have ever been too that doesn't have WiFi, a website, or even internet for the reception staff.

A typical small town, 2 star rated hotel. Stayed there overnight 2 weeks apart, food was excellent both times. Rooms are clean with sufficient towels in the bathroom. The manager greets you upon arrival and staff are available to help carry the luggage. Value for money stay.

Beautiful old style Hotel. The warm reception of staff and management were outstanding. The rooms are very comfortable and warm. What a nice bar! with admosphere and warmth. The meals - dinner and breakfast were outstanding. The management went out of their way to make our group comfortable, we were spoiled. The accommodation is very good. Highly recommended.

On arrival, the receptionist was too lazy to get off her chair to assist us. We had booked two rooms with showers. My cousin called a few days prior to arrival and was assured our booking was in order. However, they gave us two rooms with twin beds and refused to accommodate us. The hotel was far from full, but they were not interested in assisting. The manager, who was not dressed like a hotel manager, was most unhelpful and insisted that our booking specified twin bed rooms. We cancelled our booking and they refused to refund us.

Maintenance can greatly improve the standard of this place - it is a pity that this is lacking. This hotel's old world charm has so much potential, and despite it's age, staff are thorough about keeping it clean and neat and tidy. The little gifts in the cabinet in the reception foyer should feature more prominently - if it were presented in a more appealing manner, the items would definitely sell far better. A comfortable pit stop to rest.

Our twin-bed room was passingly clean and my bed comfortable. The wife complained a bit about hers. The bathroom is a joke; it belongs in an ancient boarding school. Old toilet (worked fine), old deep bath (NOT of the charming Victorian variety!) with flaking paint on the inside and no shower head. Ugly old white tiles and vinyl floor. No cabinet or table in bathroom. Please upgrade the bathrooms to 21st Century standards! Lockup parking at the back rather tight and tricky. Breakfast was excellent. Will stay there again, but not with great enthusiasm...

The old hotel is not a place I would plan to visit but car trouble led to us needing a place to stay. It was spotlessly clean. Food was not available and the receptionist was incredibly rude and everything was an inconvenience. The manager was helpful but not around too much.
