An oasis in the area with wonderful accommodation. Spacious rooms with everything one needs in self-catering. Pet-friendly, WiFi and access to a new SuperSpar shop for groceries. Should have stayed more that one night when passing through to and from Namibia.
We stayed 2 nights at this lovely guest house. The rooms were very comfortable and well-equiped. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Marlyn made a special effort as it was my birthday, making 'birthday' quices that looked like little fruit cakes. What a lovely gesture. When our hire-vehicle gave trouble the next day, Pieter assisted by taking us down to the Toyota garage for 'excellerated' assistance. Thanks Pieter- without your help we would have been stuck. We will come again.
An ideal stop-over when traveling or a base for 'doing the West Coast Flower' thing. Helpful and friendly owners made us welcome and accommodated our specific requirements. Safe parking was right outside of our room which made life easy. Plenty of eateries nearby. Well equipped room made self-catering simple.
I visited this guesthouse in September 2016. The one think really making this place special are the owners. People that easily could've been your parents really go out of their way to make you feel at home.In a unfriendly town like Springbok, I would definitely recommend this stunning place to stay at.
Desert Rose proved to be well-located for exploring Namaqualand and the hostess was very helpful with pointers to see the best flowers. The breakfasts were delicious and different every morning. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was even local filter coffee in the room to enjoy in the evening after a long day! Could I ask for more for this price?
We enjoyed everything about our stay. Our room was clean, fresh and spacious. The view of the town and mountain fascinated us after the hundreds of kilometers we had recently traveled. We appreciated having off road undercover parking. The room was well equipped with a tv and hospitality gifts and we were able to use the facilities in the dining room to prepare our evening meal as we did not book self catering. The breakfast was generous and delicious.
My husband and I were booked in Desert Rose 19/20 September. The tourism board seriously needs to send an inspector there, as their 4 star rating is farcical. The room had a very bad oder, linen dirty and the bed was lumpy - sub standard. Owners were not interested.
stayed at the desert rose with partner and mum. was a great stay, friendly staff etc. easy location. good breakfasts. informative host, good views from some of the rooms. would recommend this place to anyone travelling to springbok
Room are very comfortable , each room is very spacious with dstv and comfortable beds, crisp clean sheets good towels and a splendid breakfast. But nothing compares to the hospitality of Piet and Maralynn. Time spent that won't be forgotten.
Desert Rose Guest house is a home away from home. The owners are welcoming and very warm and as I result I always insist to be booked on this BnB when traveling to Springbok. Their breakfast is superb and it is in keeping with what one expects when traveling to the Karoo (Great South African farmstyle cooking) . Just behind the BnB there is what seems like a nature reserve as the guesthouse is situated in the last row of houses and the flowers during Spring always come alive and would give one a sense of calmness and beauty. Further, this BnB overlooks Springbok and therefore one almost has a 360 degree of what immediately lies ahead of this part of town. The rooms are large enough and lately I have seen that the owners have added new couches and curtains that are in line with African décor style. And this has now taken this BnB to another level.…
