I was pleasantly surprised by this newly renovated property.

The Fish Eagle cottage I stayed in had a fairly spacious lounge and kitchenette area with a lovely fireplace.
The bedroom was comfortable with extraordinary views.
The outdoor Jacuzzi was a nice bonus with a nice relaxing outdoor area.

Great new restaurants, sunken bar and wine cellar.

The cuisine and service was great.

All the surrounding areas are well maintained offering spectacular views of the Midlands.

Overall I had a very tranquil and pleasant stay.

I would highly recommend this property for leisure and corporate travellers and for special occasions and events.

Our family of 4 had a chance to stay for 3 nights at the self-catering Duiker cottage. The property is very vast and beautiful- lovely countryside, many zebra, impala and cows roaming close by. As part of our midweek package, we had breakfast at the hotel included, as well as R840 meal voucher and 2 spa vouchers. The cottage was very nicely located and private and had a jacuzzi. The furniture in the cottage is very rustic (probably intentionally so) but definitely needs upgrading. The garden at the hotel is spectacular. Wifi available throughout. Its a great base location for exploring the Midlands Meander.

We booked at the very last minute for Valentines and the spa was fully booked, the Skyfall restaurant was fully booked. Onwaba the assistant general manager was amazing. She accommodated us with a booking for the spa (which was relaxing and very clean) and even squeezed in a dinner reservation at Skyfall (the food was excellent) . I would highly recommend the romantic picnic, the food is delicious and the entire set up is relaxed and peaceful (this was the highlight for me). The hotel rooms are average in comparison to other hotels and need a make over but it was clean. we had an issue with the water on the first day and Onwaba gladly changed our room and even discounted the night for the inconvenience. The gardens are beautiful, peaceful and if you looking to get away and relax then i highly recommend this destination.

The cost of the cottage is overpriced, even though well-sized it does not justify the cost.
A reduction in the cost should apply to the Impala cottage due to the fact that you can hear the vehicles on the highway which takes away from the experience. Toilet area had a damp smell and the fitting/ renovation of the toilet poorly done. There is no aircons, a fan was placed in the room. The breakfast was good. The highlight was the Skyfall restaurant, the food was amazing and memorable. The restaurant should however enforce at least a smart casual dress code- patrons were in their flip flops. The SPA is beautiful, and the grounds well kept.
I also did not see any DO NOT Disturb signs, on 1 morning a staff member came into the cottage even though our vehicle was outside. Surely if wr heard the person knock we would have responded, I think the staff need to be more cautious or get reception to call the room instead of coming in.
If you enjoy a little TV in the day, the TV’s are really small and it was very weirdly placed.
Would I stay again: NO but I surely will come through on a day visit to the restaurant and SPA

Stayed at Brahman because my friend was getting married at fordoun and it was fully booked. The rooms at Brahman were clean and comfortable. I love the touch of the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. There is no full length mirror and the room is really tiny. Just enough room to walk around the king sized bed. The TV is also really small. The things I loved was the heater on the wall and the heated blankets on the bed. The outside patio is also quite cute. Thee food leaves much to be desired. It was a basic breakfast for 245 per person and I swear I can make better bacon and eggs at home. O.5 out of 5 eating for the food. Really disappointed. Grounds are really beautiful though.

A dreadful stay for Christmas Day
On arrival at 3.30pm the cottage was still filthy from the previous guests . The wooden furniture is swollen chipboard or cheap painted wood that is chipped. Bathroom windows are rusted peeling paint . A rusted barrel standing on a cut off piece off corrugated iron roof on the veranda serves as the braai. There are no cushions for the stained wooden outside chairs .
At R5850 per night it’s a rip off .
We booked & paid for 2 nights but left the next day .
The only redeeming features were the view and the spa treatments.

Dear Pamela, Thank you for choosing Brahman Hills as the home to spend your Christmas. I hope that it was a blessed day filled with love and joy with family and your loved ones. Thank you for your most valued feedback, and the time taken to share your experience. l I recall chatting to you and the family at dinner; and you mentioned your previous support to our brand before, and the appreciation you carried for the Spa, and some of the cottages. I am deeply sorry that we have not lived up to your expectation, and the previous standard that we have created in your previous stays with us. I have spent some time with my Maintenance Manager, and carried out an assessment on Zebra cottage; and I would like to formally acknowledge that there are areas in the cottage that required attention. I am happy to share that the team was in the unit on 21st and 22nd January to commence the work in addressing these areas. This has started a significantly important schedule to pay great attention to the upkeep and maintenance of our accommodation, which we have missed and ultimately leading to letting you down; and impacting your overall experience with us. I would like to thank you for your honesty, thank you for caring enough, to tell us the truth. I sincerely apologize for the disappointment, and the unpleasant experience that you had with us. Best Regards,

A fantastic stay at Brahman Hills. I do need to mention that the rooms we stayed in were re-furbised and stunning, however on our previous visit we weren't as lucky and paid the same prices. I do feel the older rooms should be discounted somewhat as they are not as comfortable, until such time as they are re-furbed.

My husband and I stayed at Brahman hills in September 2022. The property itself is lovely.

The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms are also quite small, with no shower door, water gets everywhere! The cleanliness of the room itself wasn’t what I expected, with the shower floors feeling sticky with a faint damp smell.

On a few occasions I called room services for either and iron, or extra towels (for the flooded bathroom floor), and I had to call again half an hour later to remind them because it seemed like I was forgotten.

We went away for our wedding anniversary on a two night stay in one of the self catering cabins.
Do not go in the summer! They are geared for the winter and there was no airconditioning or fans. Jacuzzi on the deck was great and the staff did make it cool for us for some relief.
The restaurants are not airconditioned either.
The food in the casual dining was attractive but disappointing. My ribeye was under done after asking for medium. My wife had crumbed chicken and I think one of the franchises could have done a better job for a third of the price.
The fine dining on the other hand was a great experience. Fantastic food and service. Limited wine selection and bringing your own attracts a hefty R150 corkage. They did reduce as we bought some of their wine.
Management was good overall trying to help with the heat.
Will give it another go in the winter
