Wow! What a beautiful experience from the moment we stepped through the doors of the spa. We had an amazing 3 hour spa experience and loved every minute of it. We will definitely be back! The views from the treatment rooms are stunning and a sense of tranquility surrounds you. The soft gentle sounds, aromatic and fragrant scent in the air and we left feeling calmer, gentler and rejuvenated.

Extraordinary Stay

Brahman Hills is the perfect place if you’re looking for a getaway from the City life. It’s serene greenery and wildlife makes you feel like you’re in a dreamland. The drive from Durban is under 2 hours. I’ve stayed at different locations within the 1,000 hectare Blue Crane Nature Reserve. Each room and self catering apartment was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean. From unique interior pieces like a wood fire place to a jacuzzi on the patio. Breakfast was literally eggcellent and incredibly varied. The hotel team is so professional yet incredibly friendly, patient and helpful. That impressed me the most.
No matter what the issue, they would step in and assist. They even made sure that the events held at each of their on-site venues went smoothly. From fine dining to grabbing a drink from their skyfall cellar and lounge.
It’s serves a whole county vibe that just mesmerises and gives you a feeling like none other.

They have an on-site spa that really added the cherry on top.

An easy 10/10 for me.

On my next stay, I will definitely check into either Wildebeest or Eland.

I would like to mention a few names of staff that went out their way to assist

The garden is beautiful and well looked after. It has a limited palette of plants which works wonderfully in both the formal and informal areas. The bee hives are unusual. It was very hot on the day we went and as it's still a young garden, there is little shade, so make sure you wear a hat.

Dear JenJoburg, Thank you for your lovely review and your kind words about our gardens! We are so happy to hear that you appreciated the carefully curated plant selection. Our bee hives are indeed a unique feature, and we love that you found them interesting! We appreciate your feedback regarding shade. As our garden continues to grow and mature, we look forward to providing more natural shaded areas in the future. In the meantime, your tip about wearing a hat is excellent advice for visitors on warmer days. We hope to welcome you back again soon to experience the beauty of the gardens in a different season. Best regards,

We went away for our wedding anniversary on a two night stay in one of the self catering cabins.
Do not go in the summer! They are geared for the winter and there was no airconditioning or fans. Jacuzzi on the deck was great and the staff did make it cool for us for some relief.
The restaurants are not airconditioned either.
The food in the casual dining was attractive but disappointing. My ribeye was under done after asking for medium. My wife had crumbed chicken and I think one of the franchises could have done a better job for a third of the price.
The fine dining on the other hand was a great experience. Fantastic food and service. Limited wine selection and bringing your own attracts a hefty R150 corkage. They did reduce as we bought some of their wine.
Management was good overall trying to help with the heat.
Will give it another go in the winter

My family and I had your carvery lunch at Skyfall Casual Dining on Sunday 21 May 2023. After having a difficulty getting the payment through with the right booking reference it finally went through and couldn’t get hold of anyone to confirm our lunch booking but eventually after sending an email we’ve received a response. As for the lunch the tomato and basil soup was delicious as well as your salads and your orange brown pudding. Your lamb meat was a bit tough and tasteless and your lamb curry was also tough. The curry sauce was good though. Whoever is supplying your hotel with meat is giving you guys cheap meat.

The cost of the cottage is overpriced, even though well-sized it does not justify the cost.
A reduction in the cost should apply to the Impala cottage due to the fact that you can hear the vehicles on the highway which takes away from the experience. Toilet area had a damp smell and the fitting/ renovation of the toilet poorly done. There is no aircons, a fan was placed in the room. The breakfast was good. The highlight was the Skyfall restaurant, the food was amazing and memorable. The restaurant should however enforce at least a smart casual dress code- patrons were in their flip flops. The SPA is beautiful, and the grounds well kept.
I also did not see any DO NOT Disturb signs, on 1 morning a staff member came into the cottage even though our vehicle was outside. Surely if wr heard the person knock we would have responded, I think the staff need to be more cautious or get reception to call the room instead of coming in.
If you enjoy a little TV in the day, the TV’s are really small and it was very weirdly placed.
Would I stay again: NO but I surely will come through on a day visit to the restaurant and SPA

My husband and I stayed at Brahman hills in September 2022. The property itself is lovely.

The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms are also quite small, with no shower door, water gets everywhere! The cleanliness of the room itself wasn’t what I expected, with the shower floors feeling sticky with a faint damp smell.

On a few occasions I called room services for either and iron, or extra towels (for the flooded bathroom floor), and I had to call again half an hour later to remind them because it seemed like I was forgotten.

Stayed at Brahman because my friend was getting married at fordoun and it was fully booked. The rooms at Brahman were clean and comfortable. I love the touch of the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. There is no full length mirror and the room is really tiny. Just enough room to walk around the king sized bed. The TV is also really small. The things I loved was the heater on the wall and the heated blankets on the bed. The outside patio is also quite cute. Thee food leaves much to be desired. It was a basic breakfast for 245 per person and I swear I can make better bacon and eggs at home. O.5 out of 5 eating for the food. Really disappointed. Grounds are really beautiful though.

Our family of 4 had a chance to stay for 3 nights at the self-catering Duiker cottage. The property is very vast and beautiful- lovely countryside, many zebra, impala and cows roaming close by. As part of our midweek package, we had breakfast at the hotel included, as well as R840 meal voucher and 2 spa vouchers. The cottage was very nicely located and private and had a jacuzzi. The furniture in the cottage is very rustic (probably intentionally so) but definitely needs upgrading. The garden at the hotel is spectacular. Wifi available throughout. Its a great base location for exploring the Midlands Meander.

I was pleasantly surprised by this newly renovated property.

The Fish Eagle cottage I stayed in had a fairly spacious lounge and kitchenette area with a lovely fireplace.
The bedroom was comfortable with extraordinary views.
The outdoor Jacuzzi was a nice bonus with a nice relaxing outdoor area.

Great new restaurants, sunken bar and wine cellar.

The cuisine and service was great.

All the surrounding areas are well maintained offering spectacular views of the Midlands.

Overall I had a very tranquil and pleasant stay.

I would highly recommend this property for leisure and corporate travellers and for special occasions and events.
