Beautiful countryside getaway. Charming host, large sites and pretty gardens. Swimming in the dam, playing pool or table tennis, all enjoyable. Hot water for showering or washing up always available. Country pubs in and around Nottingham Road good food at reasonable prices.
Lovely place to relax and just chill for a get away. So peaceful. Camping sites are perfect. Ablutions are very clean and big. Nice walks. Hubby spent most on the time on the dam fishing. Owners are lovely people. Will be going back.
We spent a week camping here. The guys played all the lovely golf courses in the vicinity, while the wives did the shopping and coffeeshop rounds. This was a first, but definitely not a last, camping trip to Glensheiling. The grounds are lovely: green lawns, trees, and a dam with boat house and jetties. Instead of conventional ablution blocks, here you will find unique unisex bathhouses: quaint and rustic. In spite of rain and muddy surfaces, all efforts were made to keep the bathrooms neat and clean. Not for those pampered souls who thrive on chrome and marble ... but if you want authentic, friendly midlands magic, this is the place to be !
If you want to relax then this is the place for you. The price is so right. If you don't have a tent then you can do some glamping in their caravan chalet which is so rustic but comfortable. Thank goodness there are no vervet monkeys in this area and you don't have to keep locking up food whilst you go fishing or visit Nottingham Road shops and restaurants. Plus the Kamburg Rock Art is only 40 minutes drive away. Go for it.
We were looking for an affordable one night stay in this area to break our trip from the coast to Gauteng up a bit. All other establishments were over priced - for one night and only sleeping this is the place to go. We were greeted by dogs and Julie - all of them super friendly. We stayed in a self catering caravan cabin - it has all you need - fridge, kettle, cuttlery etcetera. Ablutions are perfect. I will recommend this to anyone that needs a sleeping place while visiting Nottingham and surrounds.
