Why would you sleep in the city if you are on your way to escape from the hustle and bustle.
Spoil your family to stay on this working farm and owner operated and managed guest house.
Order your home cooked meal from freshly picked veggies.
Enjoy a farmhouse Special breakfast.-Come hungry.
Take a walk and enjoy the sunset after you visited the dairy and watch the cows been milked.
Francois and his team are looking forward to welcome you.
Grab and go breakfast to order if you want to continue your journey as early as possible.
If you want value for money, in a safe, peaceful surrounding with affordable crisp clean luxury rooms, this is the way to go.
Book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

We utilised Zoutspruit as an overnight between Cape Town and Kruger National Park. It was perfect for that - clean, comfortable, about 2 km off the N1, on a farm. The hosts were warm and friendly and cooked us a really fine home meal. Would certainly utilise them again on a similar trip.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. We enjoyed our stay (keeping in mind that it is after all a farm) until we were not very politely accused of taking a stainless steel mug. Seriously??? Since Maretha Els(owner) advised us rather rudely: "In future we suggest you book with Shalom 056-212 8688
You will find there establishment more convenient to suit your needs
In future no problem will exercise our policy of booking deposits for selected guests"...I would advise alternate accomodation on the off chance you would like to be treated with respect in exchange for your patronage and hard-earned money.

We're a young black couple so I wonder if this will affect the profiling of the above "selected guests"?...Needless to say, we definately won't be going back and will warn our friends and family not to do the same.

My partner and I booked and paid for two nights at Zoutspruit B&B as a relaxing country break between Cape Town and Dullstroom. An extremely disappointing experience. The touted luxury and comfortable accommodation, including our suite and en-suite bathroom, were far from as described. The bedroom and doorless bathroom turned out to be two rather cramped converted out rooms. The bedroom was crammed with an odd selection of second hand furniture such that it was difficult for two adults to move around simultaneously. However, it was reasonably clean - that is apart from a collection of dead flies on the ceiling immediately above the bed. The braai and entertainment area were elusive, whilst there certainly weren't any antelope only meters away. The only apparent antelope were a bunch of rather wary Blesbok in a 100 hectare area of fenced in veld. The only visible farming activities consisted of a pastureless dairy herd sustained on total mixed rations, the individual Jersey cows aimlessly plodding along with udders stained red from the excessive disinfectant used to counter conditions in the most basic and dilapidated milking parlour I've ever seen. The food was plentiful but atrociously cooked, although the owner was both attentive and friendly - certainly more than can be said for his skulking wife. In spite of having nowhere to spend the following night, we left immediately after breakfast on the first day and wrote off the payment made for the second night to experience.

Never told us they were 25kms out of town .Asked many times for the address , was told they would sms us, but they didn't until the last minute. Told them we were 25kms fom Kroonstad at 7:45pm Then received directions . Arrived at 8:40pm having just received an sms to say they will lock the gate at 9pm. Upon presenting us with the keys we were told we have half an hour and then they are turning off the power ! First last only time to stay here !

Very sweet couple, good food, but sadly the pictures on the website do not match the "luxury" offered. Very disappointing in terms of what is really provided. The venue is a converted farmhouse but the upkeep is not according to the 3 star allocation.

Perfect place to stop by or be some days. We stayed in the luxurytent, which we were very happy with. There was a cozy atmosphere in the tent, and although only a short distance from friendly and service minded personell felt really private, secluded and luxurious. Good service and cute animals at the farm :)

The serenity & calmness of a farm stay is a precious experience. Zoutspruit was just that for me. I especially enjoyed the lovely contrast after a structured workday on a tight schedule - to return to a peaceful space that has it's own centred rhythm.

Watching the early sunrise breaking the horizon over the veld is a magical way to begin any day. Being caught by surprise finding myself being watched by several stealthy buck during my afternoon stroll was a pleasant surprise & a lovely memory. Unacquainted `city eyes' can miss so much.

Zoutspruit B&B is a piece of heaven for any nature lover, with a level of service & friendly happy staff to match.
