Location is perfect, for the beach and the only eating place in NV. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a private sit out area, and right next to the pool. Excellent breakfast: lots of fresh fruit and local products and hot breakfast cooked to order. Staff were friendly and keen to please. We were only at the property about 19 hours, and power was off for 12. The remote location is understood and power outage is not the fault of the property, but they do really need an alternative power source. Couldn't even reach them by phone when it was urgent. A big thank you to manager Vernon who went above and beyond to get our passports (left in safe) to us in Cape Town within 24 hours.

The location is excellent, the rooms are in top shape and very nicely furnished. It is great to have a little deck for each room, the staff is very friendly and going out of their way.
The breakfast on the deck is wonderful as you see amazing birds and butterflies come by.
We loved it.
The downstairs rooms can be noisy.

Well appointed rooms with lots of space and nicely decorated. Access to small pool and sun loungers. Close access to beach and walking areas. Right next door to Blue Rocks Cafe which serves excellent food and noise was not an issue at all.
Note: No air conditioning but quiet ceiling fan.

What a place! Large, comfortable rooms with a wood fire in each! Clean and tidy. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic experience. Nature's Valley is a wonderful destination needing a few days to make the most of what it has to offer.

Arriving at "Tranquility Lodge" in high season afternoon we could not find anyone being in charge of it. Everything within the area seemed run- down, not to say a bit spooky. After spending time at the beach we went back and the manager showed up and handed us the keys, half-heartedly apologizing for all the stuff laying round on the floor, the stairs and the whole walkway towards our room.
The room itself was ok, in the bathroom lots of broken, sunk in floor tiles wiggling while stepping on it and rusty taps. Swimming pool was dirty with lot´s of insects and leaves, also the walkways were always dirty, not being cleaned for quite a while. Breakfast was average, staff preparing it was nice. Against all this background the Lodge is so overpriced. It´s bedraggled, what´s a pity, given that it would have quite a potential for sure- or at least maybe had some time ago. We constantly felt as if the guesthouse was already closed down or would be within the foreseeable future.
To summarize bad vibes, worst stay in 3 weeks of ZA traveling.

Thank you for the review of your stay at our lodge. As an owner, I appreciate the negative reviews as it provides an opportunity for our team to improve our offering. We changed our management team and structure substantially in 2015. We have also addressed all the small and understandably annoying maintenance issues that were neglected. The lodge now falls under the Face Adrenalin Group, which also runs the worlds highest bungy jump bridge up the road at Bloukrans. This means that our focus is on providing top quality facillities and services and experiences.

My wife and I stayed a night at Tranquility Lodge on the 1st of February. Mary who handled our booking and check in was professional and friendly, we were made to feel very welcome. My wife and I had a wonderful candlelit dinner and Mark is a great cook and the food was delicious, the cheesecake was the best I have ever tasted. I can see why Tranquility is a honeymooners paradise. Natures Valley is a must if you are visiting The Garden Route and Tranquility is the place to stay

Very sad to say that this B&B simply does not deliver its promises.
Tranquillity can only be had id you have a room upstairs bbecause the building was apparently built on a tight budget and is also cramped.
We had tenants above us and when they walked around it woke us up every time.
If you have a room toward the main garden you will not hear the ocean but only the water fountain.
Beware of the budget room ( if you can call it that way ) on the back side because you will hear the ocean but also the dryer noises because you are next to the laundry room.
The jacuzzi has no jets, the pool is unheated and none of the 2 have chlorine in it; I would not want to take a sample of that water, thus to me they where unusable.
The rooms have been furnished nicely and with luxury in mind but all in all is is just too much money for what it is.
The staff is nice but has an attitude as if they run a 5 star establishment while in fact they only have 3 from the south African tourist Commission.
We stayed for 3 weeks in South Africa at many B&B, the ones that measure up to the Tranquillity Lodge cost about 60 % of what you pay here.
We wanted to stay 6 nights and wound up leaving the nest day drove towards Plettenburg Bay and on the next beach, archrock we found a place with a room 3 times the size with FULL ocean view ( all of Natures Valley is behind a big dune ) patio with class railing our own BBQ and payed you guessed it 60% of the Budget room at the tranquillity lodge. Its your money and your decision but it is simply not worth the money.

This was the best place I have ever stayed. The owners, Mark and Mary are so sweet and go out of their way to ensure you have a great trip. Such as arranging local activities and transportation. The food was amazing and they are flexible with dietary needs, such as vegan and gluten allergies. The rooms were very clean and only a short walk away from the beach. I only wish I could have stayed there longer. I would absolutely stay there again!

During the preparations for a road trip down the Garden Route we came across Tranquility Lodge. The advertised awards, Best Honeymoon Destination, was the deciding point on the establishment. Our stay however was not close to what I would call an award winning venue. Although the lodge was adequately decorated and looked after, the greatest disappointment came in the rooms. The beds were very uncomfortable and in general no where near worthy of the four star rating and definitely not that of the five star pricing. The beach is Beyond beautiful though and a must see for any beach lover. I would strongly advise anyone to reconsider booking at Tranquility Lodge... what you get compared to what you are expecting at a grossly inflated rate is just disappointing .

While the accommodations themselves are ok, the staff needs a facelift in a big way. They barely spoke alto us upon arrival and throughout our visit, seemed annoyed at guests for just being there, and whenever we asked for advice about trails or whatever else was suggested we "ask the staff!" they shrugged us off as if to say they couldn't be bothered.

Overall we had a nice time because we were with each other but in terms of feeling "welcomed" by the lodge, there wasn't much to feel great about.
