Had a very nice 30th birthday weekend. the fake sea, the supertube, waterslides, and the indoor heated pool was amazing. The shop is full of all the necessary things you can think about, and the prices is very good. The fast foods was delicious.
Staff were very friendly.

Our little house were very spacious but not very neat. The carpets is very dirty, looks like it has been washed more than a year ago. The toilets did not flush properly. Bit disappointing.

Fake advertising . The paddle boats - They said it is very risky, so they stopped it. There are no bicycle rentals, they stopped that. Kids were disappointed when they heard there were no rentals as on the website advertised.

People were partying right next to us with loud music, management did not even bother to make them quiet, after a phone call after 10 then the music stopped, but the people were extremely loud. No music were allowed.

Fun weekend but not what I expected

Had several incidents. Staff not friendly. Ablutions not clean. Swimming pools not clean
Day visitors are using camping site bathrooms and walking around at campsites which is not suppose to happen. Security gates open at all times. We had campers that did not keep to the resort rules and the managers did nothing.

Traveling with a group of families with kids, we didn't expect to get the type of treatment in this day and age. We are more than 20 years into democracy however you still get people who think they superior to you because of your colour. The sad thing is the kids who were not really exposed to this kind of treatment previously, had to experience this. Will not really recommend this place if you a person of "colour"

Dont bother people! Here for the weekend, and they promised hot pool is working as last time we were here the pumps weren't working. And guess what??? The hot pool is ice cold! What is the point of driving here for almost 4 hours if you cant even get a warm swim in! Its our first vacation with our newborn, specifically so that she could experience the warm pool, thank you so much for ruining this experience. This has been so utterly dissapointing just like our last visit here 2 years ago.

If I could review, I would give minus stars as staff lie to the guests and tell us that the pumps are on and working and that water is 28 degrees , it is not.

One wpuld think that in this weather that Wawiel would ensure the pool is warm but guess they just dont give a damn about their guests. I have heard atleast 5 other familes this weekend that have complained about the cold "warm " pool.

The drive is  is not worth the bad services you get from the admin stuff really😏. And judging from the reviews, I'm guess it's safe to say the bad service was based on the fact that we are a people of color. There was so much resistance and reluctance to assist make our day stay pleasant and fun for the purpose intended. The comments received even from the staff are not worth posting.

I wouldn't recommend Wawielpark to anyone.

We went as day visitors to Wawielpark during the December holiday. The supertube was shut down for hours, briefly back on and then off again. The sea pool was also only on for about an hour. We had bought tokens for the kids to slide, but went home with most of them. My 4-year old and all the kids had to pay the full adult rate to get in. They told us there were problems with the motor of the supertube, so we decided to try again another day. We called ahead to make sure everything was on and working, but were told that they could not guarantee that they would switch on the supertube, they would only turn it on if they had enough visitors. The sea pool would be switched on if a few visitors requested it, but yes, you still have to pay the full rate to get in. Needless to say we did not return. Considering the rate they charge both to stay on the premises - R1800 for a family of 4 per night - and the rate they charge day visitors, R280 for 5 people, you would expect a lot more. The animals at the entrance to the resort also do not seem to be very well cared for, all the animals eyes were crusted with flies and the lions and tigers appear to be very skinny, the smell is also eye-wateringly atrocious. We will never visit again.

We went to Wawielpark this easter and stayed in a chalet nr 39. This is on the bank of the Vaalrivier about 240 km from Pretoria. There is a lot of activities for the whole family. 4 swimming pools of which 1 is warm water. 3 water slides. Seapool, Supertube, Putt-Putt, Kanoeing and Paddleboats on the Vaal. This resort is a bit expensive, but what you get is value for your money. They also have a mini zoo, Tigers, currently there are 3 babies, White Lions, Antelope. A trip to a nearby game reserve is also offered.

We went to sleep over on Saturday night n spend the day of Sunday.boy, were we dissapointed...no towels,a bare trickle in the shower,no facilities to wash the dishes,n if u didn't clean the chalet b4 u leave, they keep the deposit if 100 rands! The price we paid for the night with such facilities was appalling,it was R2999.00!!!!
The pools with small slides were all full,n if u want to use the big one u have to pay!
The management was totally rude n racist!
I don't think il be going back there!

All in all we had a nice outing! However they closed the warm pool off for campers and overnight geusts only and the fake sea could use some cleaning. If your looking for an affordable fun day in the sun this is the place to go. The activities isn't that expensive wich helps alot since you don't have to spend a lot of money to have fun:)

The are two honeymoon units on the banks of the river situated next to one another with their own private garden and braai area. Well equipped with everything you need, excellent bedding and nice jacuzzi upstairs to relax. Very clean as well. The shop sells everything you can think of. There is a lot of campers that fish. Few animals including lions. Will definitely return in summer to make use of all the facilities.
