Rhino's Rest Luxury Guest house truly does live up to its name. It is without a doubt the quintessence of luxury. Rhino's has so much to offer and is a bucket list destination in my book. The owners and staff at Rhino's are always friendly and professional to the highest standard. They make for a wonderfully pleasant and homey stay by catering to your every need. Audra and Ian should write a book on how to run a successful guesthouse as they are at the top of this field in my opinion.

The guesthouse itself is situated in the bush just off the main road leading into welkom. The atmosphere is tranquil with a wide variety of bird life that can always be found chattering in the foliage which surrounds the rooms. On some occasions I have even been lucky enough to spot a barn owl and a pair of spotted eagle owls perching in the large trees in front of room 8.

The decor is splended with a bushy vibe that lets you know you are in South Africa. The white linens are of a high quality and are always spotless to the point of practically shimmering. Rhino's has a fully furbished industrial laundry room which will take in your dirty clothing and return them to you in a next to brand new condition.

Now, lets not leave out one of the most important topics when it comes to a luxury stay, FOOD! Rhino's provides the best food I have ever had in my life. Chef Josh is uniquely gifted in the kitchen and constucts culinary master peicies every time he switches on his gas stove. My mouth begins to water every time I think about his cuisine. Rhino's has you covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner and should you be in town for business, the lunch packs they provide are legendary. The kitchen is always fully stocked with juices, bottled water and a variety of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages to enjoy with your meal. They also have a fine wine collection shoud your pallet be in the mood for something more sophisticated. There is another fully stocked bar in the living room where one can enjoy a drink with friends whilst playing a game of billiards!

With a satisfied tummy, clean linens and clothing as well as the sound of lions roaring in the distant background, you are bound to have a wonderful nights sleep at Rhino's and this has always been the case for me in the past 6 months during which I have stayed at Rhino's from Monday to Friday every week for business and for all the before mentioned reasons I will continue to come back every week to live in absolute luxury.

We really enjoyed our stay on this farm. It is only about 7 km from Welkom and access from the main road is easy. The bed was ultra comfortable, the duvet very warm, and the room spacious. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were available - it was good food too.

Thank you to Rhinos and Audra for creating such a welcoming atmosphere when we arrived. I have done many weekends away far and wide. And I can honestly say that many Guest houses could Learn a thing or 2 from Rhinos. Friendly staff. Consistent great service. We would have what we need without even asking, now that already sets Rhinos above a 5star rating to me. Comfortable clean Rooms, spacious private ( #8) with Dstv aircon, or heater for winter. All round one of the top most relaxing break aways my husband and myself have taken I am local and was blown away at the service reception and room we stayed in. And the ambiance is perfect. Thank you Audra and Rhino family for a super perfect weekend.
Regards the Van Niekekerks
Blessings ( sorry my hubby hugged the photos, will try to submit later)

Staying at Rhino’s Rest was like coming home. After a seriously busy year, we needed a break. Everything was great, from the rooms to the food, honestly brilliant. The wonderful Audra and Ian made sure that we were well cared for and the amazing chef Josh made sure we were well fed with delicious food.

If you're traveling and need an over night stay or a small break away from everyday life, Rhinos Rest is definitely the place to go. Such a wonderful experience. From the beautiful rooms with the most comfortable of beds to the amazing food which is served to the lovely hosts who run the place. It was most certainly a 10/10 experience.

We just want to thank Ian, Audra and Josh for the excellent service and wonderful facilities at their Rhino's Rest questhouse. Your questhouse is truly home away from home. Your kindness and warm hearts ment so much to us. Thank you for also taking such good care of our son, Waldo when he stays with you every week when working in Welcome. Our hearts are much more at ease knowing that he is in such excellent hands. Josh your food is excellent and we enjoyed each bite that we took. Truly five star meals all the way. Ian thank you for taking us on a ride to see the Lions. It was amazing to have seen them in all their splendor and hear all the interesting information and experiences that you have had with them. We also whant to thank you for the love and care you have shown us and our son while he was there in hospital due to a motocar accident. You realy went above and beyond and it realy means the world to us. We will without a doubt be back soon and and can recommend Rhino's Rest to any one. You will not regret staying at this excellent questhouse with this wonderful, warmhearted people. Love the Gerber Family

I stayed over only for one night and really enjoyed it.
Wonderful warm welcome, clean and comfortable room, secure area and hearty breakfast.
It was also close to where I had to be.
Will most certainly return.

Homely & lovely stay with Ian & Audra at Rhino's Rest. Hospitality beyond measure. Nothing comes close to it. Sad part is what authorities are doing to their lions, Ian as qualified lion keeper I personally I am horrified by this stance authorities took & greatest losers are our future generations. Lastly thanks for my birthday cake.

Lovely atmosphere, very visible from main road, modern rooms, quiet environment and excellent room service.
We were on a hunting trip and our timing was very early and very late, no one complained and we had access to automatic main gate entrance.

I have been visiting Rhino's for many years now, during my 3 weeks of business in the Welkom area each year. I feel like one of the family, with a warm welcome always at hand from Audra and Ian, Anne and Danie. Every visit is special. I always look forward to starting my year with my stay at Rhino's. The meals are always great, and the hosts are always willing to do breakfast for us at an ungodly hour if we need to leave really early for the day. Please keep Rhino's as special as it always is, for many years to come!
