Rus & Vrede Luxury Guesthouse is situated on the banks of the tranquil section of the Vaal River near Parys, just over an hours drive from Johannesburg, on the border of the North West and Free State, adjacent to Vaal de Grace golf course. Indulge in one of our suites, especially designed to create a warm, homely atmosphere with breathtaking views of the river and the 18th hole of the golf course.
Words cannot describe the beauty of this place and the kindness of the owner Yvette. Every single thing has been taken care of here. It doesn't feel like a guesthouse, this feels like a luxury hotel but with privacy, and where even the finest detail for your comfort as well as the overall decor has been well thought off. The pool is in pristine condition, the massive manicured lawns are always green and cut and look like a carpet. The rockery, landscaping , and all the trees add such a natural feel. The rooms are so spacious. Comes with a fancy bug screen and curved smart TV so Netflix or YouTube are available along with a FULL DSTV bouquet. There is a very modern bathtub and a HUGE rain shower enough for two people. They throw in so many toiletries from shoe shiners to sowing kits which my wife made good use of. The fridge is stocked with yoghurts and plenty of water. They also throw in cereals, rusks and nuts. Besides all of this, what really touched us was the attention and care from Yvette. Without being intrusive, she always insured we were okay by just checking if we needed anything. My wife has food allergies so she personally went to another town to buy almond milk. She also called every restaurant in Parys to ensure there was gluten free or veg food for her - this was kindness beyond measure and something we won't forget. Lastly, we had left on the last day when it was hailing and pouring and ended up forgetting our belongings in the safe. Yvette immediately said she will drive to us to deliver the stuff. Thank you Yvette for being such a gracious and caring host and above all else such a kind human being. I would recommend this place for couples , families or anyone just wanting the best holiday for such a reasonable price.

We are truly grateful and thankful for everything from Rus and Vrede to make the birthday memorable. Rus and Vrede on the vaal was the best choice ever, the room was awesome,super clean,spacious,just gorgeous and beyond amazing, the hospitality was outstanding.
The reservations made for us for dinner and lunch, the daily breakfast with mouthwatering rusks, the daily warm and refreshing bath to top it all the wine and the favorite cake.
Rus and Vrede on vaal made the birthday special and we will definitely come back just to look at the view and relax in the most gorgeous rooms ever and quiet and peaceful environment.

Thank you so much to Yvette for hosting us at Rus en Vrede. The location is stunning and the room was spacious and very comfortable with a little fridge and tea/coffee station (& delicious rusks).The little town of Parys is very quaint - lots of lovely shopping and restaurants and we were able to go for a run along the open roads from the lodge which was beautiful.

What an amazing surprise tucked away in Parys at the Vaal river! Yvette and team are on the ball and will attend to your every need. She also has lots of tips for things to do and places/restaurants to visit nearby. The views (and sunsets in particular) are stunning, and unparalleled and one can very easily get lost in the natural beauty around you. We stayed in the Willow room upstairs. The room was comfortable, had everything you could need, as well as a few extra goodies to make your stay even more pleasant. Expect to have all the comforts - aircon, blockout curtains, robes, towels for swimming, hairdryer, curve tv, a safe, complimentary bottled water as well as a few things if you get the munchies, a fridge, mircrowave, free bathroom toiletries and more. We will definitely be back as we were blown away by the hospitality as well as surprised by the town and how much there is to do. However, Rus en Vrede is tucked away on the river, so it’s equally perfect if you just need a break and a good rest. What a gem!

What a wonderful venue with the most beautiful view over the Vaal river from the deck of your room. The room was 5 star and private and the personal attendance by the host was impeccable. Ideal and safe for outdoor cycling or running off road. We will definitely be back!

It was truly the “home away from home” feeling. The units were the pique of luxury and we couldn’t have asked for more. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you! The spot is located on the Vaal River and is incredibly peaceful. It’s 5 minutes from Parys, which has a variety of restaurants, pubs, art and fashion shops.

This place was amazing. Views over the pool and across the river at the 18th hole of the golf course. Beautiful sunsets and peacefull sunrises with the fish jumping and birds sunning themselves. The room had every amenity and was impeccably clean. They went out of their way to help me with local recomendations for restaurants and activities as well as going the extra mile when I needed some additional help. By far the best place to stay close to town.

My husband and I stayed at Rus & Vrede recently. The view is amazing and we sat on the patio watching the sun set. The Vaal river in front of us seemed clean with plenty of fish. The amenities in the room were very good with muesli and yoghurt provided for breakfast. Yvette was very helpful in advising us about restaurants in the area etc.

Rus en Vrede on Vaal is amazing! Warm hospitality, beautiful accommodation with the most spacious rooms and 5 Star treatment. A family/ romantic guesthouse safely tucked away inside a security complex, affordable yet luxurious, there is absolutely nothing not to like about Rus en Vrede on Vaal. What a beautiful place. We were made to feel at home by the owner Yvette from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. It's one of the places that you wish you could extend your booking while you are there. The view is stunning, and everything in our room was impeccably laid out.
