As we were attending a family wedding in Parys, we booked all 6 rooms. Guesthouse is located on outskirts of town. It was quiet and we did not notice any noise from the main road Dolf Street. Safe parking provided. Booking the venue as a whole worked out perfectly for us- we had the main braai and lounge area with 10 seater dining table all to ourselves and could enjoy this central space all by ourselves. Comfortable modern patio seating in this area that was enclosed with windows and doors. Honesty bar had some welcome cold beer and good wine. Bring your own braaiwood or firewood. Comfortable beds with nice bedding for winter chill of 2degrees celcius at night. Each room had a large bathroom with modern finishes and were spotlessly clean. Hairdryer in all rooms. All the rooms had a fridge (with milk provided) and coffee making facilities with microwave. One aircon proved to be a bit tricky to switch on but others worked well and kept winter frosty weather at bay. Most rooms had stairs upon entering the room- one room did have a ramp at the side of the guesthouse and will be accessible for disabled people as there are no other steps from the parking to this room room. Also no steps in the room. Had breakfast at one of the lovely placed in town- so many good ones to choose from. Good value for money and can recommend.

Our family wanted to escape the city so we phoned some places in Parys to check availability. We got a room at the Suidooster. The owners are very friendly. The room was neat and value for money. There was an issue with the water supply to the shower and as Murphy would have it, mid shampoo. Solid 3

Stayed here for two nights last weekend. Location is not so great as we stayed in room number 5 and it was very noisy as it borders on a main thoroughfare. Cars and trucks to and fro the whole time. The other rooms are a bit more secluded and may be quieter. Room size and en-suite bathroom were great and the shower was extra large. Well kept property, clean and reasonable value for money. Breakfast a bit expensive for what we ate, but I suppose they have to cater for the big eaters too. Bar fridge, microwave, kettle etc in room, so it worked out well for us. A pleasant stay.

Driving through the little town of Parys to our destination, we were a little worried as to its location but what a surprise on arrival. We booked two rooms and both rooms overlooked our own little private courtyard. The rooms are beautiful and well equipped. Boasting with a decent sized TV, DSTV, coffee, tea, sugar, bar fridge and microwave. The bathroom is very spacious and has a nice dressing table with hairdryer etc. Will definitely stay here again!

I had to book De Suidwester at the last minute, because of a cancellation where I was supposed to be staying. Petro and her husband Johan were incredibly accommodating. As I did not have a vehicle, Petro was extremely kind, driving me to a few places that were a bit too far to walk to. The room was comfortable and cosy, and their covered terrace is a great place to sit and read! Highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed at this charming guest house for a weekend away from the city. The rooms are very clean and has a modern feel to it, our room was beautifully decorated and our stay enjoyable. The owner, Magda, made sure that we had a really enjoyable stay and was willing to assist with all requests. The guesthouse is situated in town close to a small shopping center and a short drive to nice restaurants and the vaal river. We absolutely loved our stay and we will definitely return with our next visit to Parys.

My girlfriend and I stayed in this charming guesthouse for a weekend away from the city, On our arrival the host 'Magda' greeted us and showed us to our room. We stayed in the Family Room which offered an extremely comfortable queen size bed and two single beds. The room was very spacious, neat, clean and decorated beautifully. The room was fitted with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. In the mornings we enjoyed coffee and breakfast baskets (on request) in the outside lounge/braai area before heading out for the day. There is secure undercover parking provided. I could highly recommend the guesthouse for anyone looking for accommodation in this area!

Small but clean. There are different rooms to choose from. You need to find the one that suits you. Not really any braai fascilities. Really just a place to sleep only. Breakfast not always available. Needs a little minor maintenance. Friendly service.
