Beautiful well placed property with best river front views and design.

German is a gem he is a keeper represents your business well.

Cleaning lady should also focus bathrooms a bit more. Once we got going she is a pleasant person

The damper was the fact that we couldn’t use upstairs area as the pictures and wording on your website gave impression that it’s the entire house available for use.
so when deciding against one other property the upstairs facilities made a difference.
See details on website:

“Upstairs, the main bedroom is set in a vast double-volume space, with solid wood floors and a private balcony boasting an unprecedented view of the Vaal River – a breath-taking sight at sunset. The private bathroom is en suite.

The 12-seater upstairs bar with kitchenette is a favourite spot to spend evenings. Guests can catch the sunset whilst listening to the sounds of a crackling fire and the highveld bush coming to life all around you.”

Wow! Thank you to Malcolm & June, the acting host & hostess of River Bush Lodge, for your warm welcome on such short notice.

You are a wonderful couple and, along with the owner Elise, went the proverbial mile after my Husband & I were let down badly by another well known establishment in Parys.

We contacted Elise in the hope we would be able to find accommodation at such short notice. Elise was very accommodating and kind and said we were welcome to go see her lodge. This is where we were welcomed and made to feel comfortable from the start to the end of our two night stay.

We stayed in the Zebra room which was a lovely room that sleeps 3. We found the room to be comfortable, clean, fresh and well equipped for our two night stay.

The room included a lovely shower, toilet & changing area, bar fridge,TV, Air-con and adequate coffee facilities. Nicely maintained gardens with a lovely blue pool made this made our stay feel like we were home away from home.

When it came to breakfast, Anna in the kitchen served us a fantastic English breakfast with a smile & did not mind going that extra mile by even offering to take photos for us😃 Thank you June, Malcolm & Anna for your wonderful hospitality.

We will be back for sure👍

Kind regards,

Lorraine & Andy (JHB) 24 - 26 Jan 2020

The garden and pool are lovely. There is no natural light in the room we had, but the bed was quite comfortable and the linen of high quality. Towels were not exchanged and no spare towels for the pool. Complimentary drink and new waters daily a nice touch. Hammocks and ample parking.

Room and service was great . Not sure how an other reviewer saw the yard as shocking. Garden was an oasis and the premises was very neat and clean. Nice wendy house kitchen with Braais for the guests. My only negative as that wireless is not available in the room i was allocated. Cell phone reception (vodacom) also not good.

Breakfast was good . Good value for money stay

River Bush Lodge is a a very nice place to stay. The rooms are neat and clean with all amenities. The bathroom is nice with a huge bath and fitted with an in Bath shower. Bit high to climb out of but lovely nonetheless.
Towels are of good quality and so is the bedding. All in all a very nice place to stay whilst in Parys.

We spent the weekend there and it was really lovely. Elize was very helpful and welcoming from making the booking to when we checked out. The rooms were well decorated and very comfortable. They had everything in that you could need, including a guest directory with helpful information in it. It's situated right on the river and it is amazing waking up in the morning to the sounds of the birds singing. The perfect peaceful getaway place. The only problem we had was using the hot water...while showering the gas geyser just turned off but after some struggling we seemed to have gotten it right.

Luckily we only had the misfortune of staying here for one night. The room was dirty and there were critters scurrying all over the place, I woke up with a big cockroach walking across my chest. The whole place is very old and needs an overhaul. We were so put off by the state of our room that we left at the crack of dawn and skipped the breakfast.

Right on the banks of the Vaal River is a homely B&B with lots of nooks for sitting in in the green garden. Deceptively peaceful as it is close to the centre of Parys. Good value for money! Would recommend.

This accommodation is situated right next to the Vaal river but the rooms do not overlook the river unfortunately. The room has everything you'll need for a breakaway including: Comfy big bed, aircon, electric blanket, spacious shower, bar fridge, kettle, TV with DSTV package as well as a nice cosy veranda. We made use of the braai area which is well lit so you can enjoy the braai day or night. The pool area is also very nicely set out with enough chairs and space to properly "camp out" next to the pool during summer days. The owners as well as the managers are very kind people who hosted us with all the friendliness in the world. As we made our way to the pool the lovely manager even brought us some swimming towels which was a very nice gesture. The complimentary water and coffee supply were refilled on a daily basis which was also very nice. Definitely worth the visit if you are planning to explore in and around Parys.

Camping sites were neat and tidy, ablutions clean and inviting. Just one thing, they need a decent shop on the premises to purchase meat etc. If you needed anything from a shop, you'd have to drive into town. A bit of a waste of time. Sand road to lodge needs to be maintained. Not good for city cars. 4X4's maybe
