Not a 5 Star Guest house anymore, room we stayed in was not up to standard, aircon was out of order, and heater was not warming the room. Electric connections are in poor untidy condition, alarm eye was hanging loose. Nails on 2 walls was a ugly sight. The place definitely are in need of maintenance. The food was good and personnel were very attentive, but could not help with the aircon that was out of order. Think this was a problem even before we checked in, although we were assured the aircon was working??? They blamed it on loadshedding. The new owners need to up their standards to get this guest house back to 5 Stars. As it was before.

On arrival, even though it was busy as they were preparing for a wedding, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Room was ready and everything was clean and spotless, beds were very comfortable, linen and towels spotless. The owners Helena and John go out of there way to make everyone feel welcome. This is our second visit and on both occasions we had dinner and both times meals were prepared as we ordered. We will definitely be back as a wonderful place for a short getaway from Gauteng. Glynnis and Richard.

We visited as the new owners were busy making the last arrangements to the place. It is beautifully furnished and the decor is great. we had a wonderful lunch in a great atmoshere. Needless to say we returned for breakfast the next morning and it was great.

The choclate mousse had a milkshake consistency and it was sour. The burger bun was hard as well. The deep fried ice cream was nice. The service was also poor as it took nearly 3 hours for just one round of drinks, the food and the bill

Not a great experience… Upon ouf arrival, as our room’s TV wasn’t in order, we were given an alternative room as a replacement … problem id that it was a small room with no view, with the toilets positioned 2 metres from the bed, visible through a glass wall ! Total lack of privacy… We had to ask for Doom to get rid of the mosquitoes, the bedsite lamp plug wasn’t working and the AC seemed defective … The bed’s mattress was hard, and we experienced no hot water in the shower at night and in the morning. The guests toilets outside the room didn’t lock and there was no paper supply. Not a 5 stars stay..!

We stopped for breakfast. All 4 ordered the Art Lover's special @R95.00. We waited over 50 minutes. When it arrived there were no hashbrowns. The sausage had dried out and our plates were full of hair.
The waitress tried her best but was obviously overwhelmed. We had to go in search of a manager and when we told him all we got was an "oh sorry"
Not 5 star at all

The garden setting is stunning! It's a very relaxed and relaxing atmosphere. Estelle singing in the background has a voice straight from heaven. Her talent made it all worthwhile. We waited forever for our food. Our initial order could not be fulfilled. All very frustrating, and extremely disappointing. My calamari rings were rock-hard. I doubt I will return for a meal of any sort, but possibly for the setting and awesome live entertainment!

Most beautifull setting, excuisite decor, lovely atmosphere, feel good vibe. Live music on weekends. What a lovely refreshing surprise. New owners! Flexible to accomodate our 8 year old. Central in Parys, walking distance to shops and pubs. It was the perfect sleepover that we needed for our golf trip to Parys. Value for money! Love it!

Had an awful one night's stay here. We had low water pressure to absolutely no water. No hot water either. Owner was not on site and refused to rectify because if water was trickling out the taps there's nothing wrong. Rowdy guests in early hours of morning just made terrible stay worse. Avoid if you're looking for R&R and a hot shower!

I have to say - a very pleasant three night stay at this stylish guest house. The secret ingredient? Quality - good linen, plush towels, lovely art, great bed! Stunning gardens outside, secure parking. A lovely breakfast is included in the price - great coffee, a nice menu selection (not skimpy at all!). Willemien does steal the show with her attentive service. Well done, a good ambassador of the local town scene!
