Would highly recommend this resort as a cheaper alternative to some of the ludicrously priced hotels on the island.

Basic, clean rooms with an excellent pool area. Hiring a car would be advantageous but the bus stop is directly outside the hotel for access to the rest of the island.

The bar and restaurant across the road is also worth visiting for the view and sunset alone. You also get 20% off your bill if staying at the hotel.

There’s also some great little spots for food down in Akrotiri and on the local beaches towards Red Beach. Perissa is also not too far away.

Would definitely return again.

Dear Valuable Guests Thank you very much for your time and for your review. We are very happy you enjjoyed your stay here with us and that you liked our Hotel and Restaurant. Hiring a Car indeed is the best option to visit all the island because even though Santorini is a small island there are many places to visit. We really hope to see you again. Best Regards Panos Sigalas

We were privileged to be the first guests after the reopening after COVID (plenty of safety measures in place) and can’t speak highly enough of the service. We upgraded to the suites which was a good call because it gave my teenage children a separate space and with an enclosed patio and view out to sea. We went to the restaurant across the road (all same family) a few times - a great place to watch the glorious sunsets. Whilst there is nothing particularly by the hotel and restaurants, it is easy enough to get places and nowhere is far in a car. We used the bus to Fira (very conveniently outside hotel) and got a taxi home from the rank (last bus 9pm). We also hired a car (brought to us at hotel) at reduced rate and well worth doing. The real highlight, however, was the fabulous pool - huge, great views, service - a wonderful place to swim every day. We thank you for making us so welcome and we recommend this hotel to couples, friends and families with older teens. A great base to explore the beautiful island.

As a solo traveller, visiting multiple islands, I elected to stay on the South of the island, avoiding Fira and Oia.

Caldera view did not not disappoint. Panos Sigales and his team provided the best in friendly hospitality in a relaxed and friendly manner. A big shout to Anna for advising on my next island hop (Crete) and professionalism and friendliness. All the staff are friendly with constant smiles and chat!....

Caldera View has a restaurant bar opposite overlooking the Caldera, with in my view, the best sunset on the island. Great food and stunning Caldera views........

There is a bus stop right outside which enabled easy access to Akrotiri, Red Beach, the lighthouse, Akrotiri archaeological site and Fira,

For experienced walkers, I would recommend the clifftop walk between Fira and Oia, with great bus connectivity back to the rest of the island.

Pool area, large and luxuriant!

Great value!

Me and two of my friends stayed here for 4 nights/5 days. The hotel has the most amazing pool although one thing to mention is that it is deep for the majority so if you’re not a strong swimmer you may not like it. There are shallow areas too though! We did a mixture of relaxing by the pool and exploring Santorini. We decided to use the bus service which is cheap but pick up outside the hotel was never on time, however leaving Oia and Thira, the bus always left on time. The breakfast at the hotel was good, a mixture of hot and cold but the same every day. The staff were mostly friendly but on a couple of occasions they seemed like they didn’t want to be helpful - for example, my personal towel was taken and they weren’t fussed about finding it. Thankfully it was expensive so I didn’t mind. They also gave us 1 large bottle of water for the duration of our stay - where drinking water isn’t accessible by the taps, I think we should have had a new bottle daily and when we asked for one, we were told to go pay for one at the bar. Food at the pool bar was delicious! The pork gyros was amazing. The restaurant across the road has the most amazing sunset views and the food was great - we ate there twice.

Overall, if you want a quiet relaxing holiday, this hotel is great for that. No children, plenty of sun beds and it was so peaceful. If you want to explore, hire a car or ATV or just be patient with the buses.

We contacted the hotel prior to our arrival and they arranged for a taxi to collect us at the airport. Checked in and shown to our room, a junior suite on the first floor. The room was spacious and clean with a shower over the jacuzzi bath. The room also had a fridge and air conditioning. We had an issue with the aircon and mentioned it to reception and someone was out immediately to resolve it. The pool is large and there was always loungers available at any time of the day.
There is a bakery (excellent) a pharmacy and a supermarket within a 15 minute walk from the hotel. In addition, there's a restaurant across the road from the hotel owned and managed but the family who run the hotel that does lovely food and the views, especially at sunset are spectacular. There's also a couple of other restaurants, again within a 15 minute walk form the hotel - Grillicious and Panorama (both excellent). There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel to take to to Fira or Akrotiri.
All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, although the only issue we had was on our first morning, having had very little sleep the night before travelling, we went down to breakfast just before 09:45 (it was due to close at 10am), but were quite abruptly told as we entered "to quickly grab some food as they were clearing up in two minutes" !?!
Otherwise thoroughly recommended budget stay outwith Oia and Fira.

The hotel rooms are clean with good air conditioning. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, but after a week of exactly the same did become a little monotonous, we ended up getting pastries from the bakery up the road for a change. We did hire a car as found the road outside difficult to walk along with no pavement and fast moving cars. We did eat at the restaurant over the road, but were not offered the discount mentioned in other reviews, despite telling the waitress that we were staying at the hotel. Maybe this needs a clearer system. The discount was also not mentioned at checking in, we only heard about it from reading these reviews, at the end of the holiday. Also found it pricier than other places we ate in Akatori and Perissa. The lovely grill house at the top of the road does delivery. with a few tweaks it could be a 5 star review. The road outside stays busy during the night, but nothing a pair of earplugs didn't sort out. The pool was lovely with plenty of loungers, always managed to find one when we wanted. I would recommend this hotel.

My mum and I had a fantastic stay at Calder View Resort! On arrival there was a mix up with our room but the lovely Fay at reception sorted this for us straight away. Thank you Fay! Great views and fantastic pool. The bus into Fira from outside the hotel was very easy and well worth visiting, as it has fab restaurants/bars and the most beautiful views! Hara who worked at the pool bar was absolutely delightful and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a short break

Sometimes it’s not just about the place you stay but also who you stay with. You need a car for this resort but there are three restaurants within 10 mins walk. The rooms are basic but comfortable, set around a lovely central pool setting. The staff are amazing, each and every one of them. They always have time for a chat, always smiling and always helpful.

We stayed here for 1 week and it was lovely, the rooms are clean and tidy. The staff are great too very friendly and helpful. We booked a boat trip through the hotel which made it very easy. It’s a great place to relax, there isn’t much around but Akrotiri is only a €15 taxi ride where there is a few restaurants. Thira is a must to visit which you can get the bus from outside the hotel.
