If, like us, outside space is a very important aspect of a villa for your holiday, then you will not be dissapointed. The pool is great and the covered area perfect for some shade. The view down the valley to Vassiliki Bay is absolutely incredible. We spent every morning eating our breakfast poolside gazing in awe down to the coast. Incredible! The villa itself is also great; very comfortable and with everything you would expect and makes the most of the view. Vassiliki itself is fantastic, with a beautiful little harbour with lots of lovely cafes and restaurants and the villa is in a fantastic location to explore further afield, to the west and east coasts of this beautiful island.

This villa was the perfect base for our first family holiday in Greece, with our children 14, 12 and 9. The view is amazing, the villa and pool were everything we would want; spacious, clean, well equipped, beautiful rooms all en-suite, completely private, perfect for when we had days by the pool at home and bbq evenings. Noel provided great advice for places to visit (especially brilliant beaches and restaurants), and completely sorted our car hire so that it was organised within the villa booking. We can't wait to come back...

Our second visit to the villa, the first being in 2006. The villa is still in superb decoration, very clean with a well stocked kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. The villa has fantastic views over the bay and surrounding hills with lovely space to eat outside in the shade. All windows in the house have insect screens which make for comfortable nights without any insect worries. The BBQ area is a great feature...we made good use of it. We met the villa manafer a couple of times during our stay - he was very useful in recommending beaches to visit in the area. Overall a great villa which we would happily return to again.

This was our 2nd visit to Villa Calnovic and we had a fabulous time. It is ideal for large groups with lots of living space both inside the villa and out on the deck. The kitchen is well equipped and the villa extremely well maintained. The villa manager was very responsive to our requests. The pool is quite large and has spectacular views over Vassiliki Bay. Located on the hillside a car is recommended but not essential. We chose to walk to dinner most evenings but the car is useful for grocery shopping or for anyone who cannot manage the walk back up the hill. Our favorite restaurant was The Wave in Ponti at the bottom of the hill. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and fun. We ate a The Miramar several times in Vassiliki Harbour and also had take out pizza from Alex's pizza. We recommend a drive to Sivota for lunch or dinner - a pretty harbor and great for people watching! We enjoyed the boat trip to Agiofili but the beach gets very crowded. We also drove to Mikros Gialos in Rouda Bay and Ammouso, both lovely beaches. We love Lefkas and Villa Calnovic and hope to go back again someday!

There are several (3, I think) secluded villas, each with its own pool and views that form Vassiliki Bay Villas. We stayed in Villas Petros and had a lovely time. The villa is a distinctive deep blue and can be seen as you drive into Vassiliki along the Lefkada road. The road takes you down the eastern flank of the valley that opens out onto Vassiliki bay and provides your first stunning view of the coastline and countryside. The villas are perched up on the western flank looking down over the flat valley floor and across onto the beautiful bay with Vassiliki port on the eastern edge and Ponti village on the western edge. We shared a driveway up to the villa with Villas Christos (also painted deep blue) but we each had our own place to park. The unmade driveway is typical of rural, Mediterranean, coastal locations. Once you have navigated the driveway you can turn left to got up into the hills and visit either the lighthouse in the South West or up to Kariya which is north and sort of in the middle. Turn right and the road leads back down into Ponti village. It is a narrow, slightly twisty country lane. The walk, provided you are fit and able and don't mind the heat, is a brisk 15-20 minutes to Ponti and maybe a 30 minute stroll across to Vassiliki port where there are cashpoints, all sorts of shops and lots of places to eat and drink. The Petros villa was reasonably well equipped, the air-con worked fine and the water (solar heated) was piping hot all the time. The bedrooms had plenty of storage space and the furniture was comfortable. We loved the pool and spent most of our time gazing and lazing under the gazebo. The sun came up over the hills opposite at about 7am. The pool guy was friendly and made sure we were happy with the pool. The galley kitchen is adequate although we would have liked to have found a cafetiere or coffee maker. We improvised with the tea pot and filter papers and a cheap plastic funnel. A supply of black bin bags would have been good too. The BBQ was pretty basic but that didn't stop us from having some fun meals. All in all, a good base for exploring the island and a fantastic place to hang-out and relax.
