During this COVID-19 pandemic without a shadow of doubt this is the only place we would stay and feel safe. We have visited many times in the past and know how Veghlis and his team work hard to keep Residence Poseidon Complex exceptionally clean. It is set in a quiet rural beautiful location with well kept gardens. It is only 15 mins drive away from the airport and 20 mins to the capital Argostoli. There is plenty of different types of accommodation to suit everyone and WiFi is free. There is an option to have breakfast which has plenty to choose from. The pool is well maintained with a child’s area. Veghelis works hard to look after you whilst on holiday including organising car hire as you are likely to need it to explore the beautiful island. All we can say is that it’s a must to stay here. Give it a try 👍

First time staying here and in these crazy times could not have felt more welcome or safe. The hotel is kept spotless with cleanera in the appt and new towels every day. Breakfast is a joy with home cooking and amazing cakes. The owner is welcoming and has created a lovely relaxed feel to the hotel. We stayed in a 1 bed which is perfect if you have children and want the privacy of separate bedroom. The location is just 10 mins from the airport but not a plane passes over so really handy. Loved our stay!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights before meeting up with family to stay in a villa nearby. Our stay here was faultless. Although very basic, it is a very clean, friendly place to stay. We had the breakfast here twice which was included; the second time was a lot better than the first as we got up earlier so there was more choice and it was a lot fresher. It has buffet fruit and cakes, toast and tea, coffee, juice and then your usual bacon beans egg etc. The bar is not always manned throughout the day but there is an 'honesty book' as the other reviewers called it where you can log what you take and pay at the end of your stay, a bit like a tab to your room. The staff are brilliant and although not great at English were so helpful with all our needs. The pool area we had almost to ourselves the whole time as I think most people hire cars so are not around most of the day. We did hire a car ourselves one day which I would highly recommend! We just asked the main guy who I think was the owner and he called and arranged it for us. It was 40 euros for the day and it got dropped off at the apartment at 9am and then came and collected it at 9am the day after which was ideal as we could then use it to go out for tea at night time. Like I said, I'd deffo recommend hiring a car, especially if you are here for more than a few days as there is not much around in walking distance. There is a little village about 10 min walk away (uphill) which has a lovely restaurant called Taverna Cavo Liakas. There is also another little bar a bit further up which has only snacks and drinks, but we had a sandwich here at lunchtime and was a lot better than expected and you get a lot for your money. Other than these 2 places there aren't any other places to eat out unless you drive. The WaterWay is a 5/10 min drive away which has amazing views of the sea and a really big menu choice. We also tried the Olive Lounge which is up at the castle which was my favourite meal all holiday and had amazing views - 100% recommend. The closest beach we did try to walk to on our first day and what I would say is DONT follow the signs haha - we did this and followed the signs that we saw in the little village but they take you the main road way and ended up taking us about 30/40 mins which was tough in 31 degree heat. Luckily on the way home we went a different way and it only took us 10/15 mins although very uphill and tough in the sun! It is just one straight road if you turn left out of the carpark. Please also make sure you ask for lifts from the staff here, it may feel cheeky but we ended up booking a taxi through a lady at a restaurant for 20 euros and when we told the owner he said he would have taken us for free! I think they have some sort of agreement with local restaurants that they will take residents there for free and then people who work at the restaurant will drop you off back for free - this was at WaterWay however it could possibly be with other places too. Overall a great stay at Residence Poseidon and would highly recommend however unless you want a really low key relaxing holiday I would recommend hiring a car. Saying that we did have a car the rest of the time and can still deffo say Kefalonia is a lovely relaxing place for a holiday.

We arrived about 9pm and were met by the owner Vaghel. He took us to our room & showed us how to operate Air Conditioning., We went to the self serve Bar where you helped yourself to drinks and made a note in the trust book what we have drunk. The Breakfast was one of the best we have had at any other Hotel. The Staff were very friendly and any information you required they sorted it out. The pool was nice and clean.
