A very nice location: easy to access by car, an hour west of Christchurch International airport, short distance to Methven for necessities, two lovely golf courses nearby. Glacial Valley with a generous covering of snow all around; opening curtains on a winter-wonderland!Welcomin

Jo greeted us with alot of enthusiasm and smiles. We were ushered to our room which was pretty spacious and well equipped. Tea making facility and a toaster as well as basic cutlery and crockery came in handy. The views were great and you could see tons of stars on a clear night.

The owner, Butch, greeted us like an old friend and gave us pointers on the surrounding area, which was a great welcome to NZ after a long flight. The room we had was quite spacious and cozy, it's obviously showing its age but it was clean and warm which matters more. The view ov

The Lodge is aging & in some ways basic, sure, but self-contained accomodation is hard to find, & in this region MHL is a great choice. Nice views of Mt Hutt, easy access to the spectacular gorge walk, & close for river activities makes this a good holiday option. The owners ar

We are arriving Mt Hutt 27 October 2017 for one week time share and we are looking for things to do and see over 7 days. We will have a car , no children active retires, not golfers, love sightseeing happy to be away one night to Queenstown, can anyone suggest things to do and see each day. What is the best winery with midday food? Happy to do a jet boat but no bungee jumping as we are in our mid 60's. Historic towns and local markets on Saturday 28 October would be good if there is one that Saturday. Hope someone has some suggestions, I'm sure " Butch? " at the lodge will also give us his suggestions for each day, so if he reads this feel free to reply some. Thanks Malcolm
Hi. Just wondering how long it takes to get to the ski fields and how does one get there from your lodge? Also what months is the ski season? Many thanks Helen
Good morning, my partner and I are flying in from Sydney Australia on the 22nd July and the plane arrives in Christchurch at 23:55hrs. I am wondering if it is possible to hire a room arriving this late to get some sleep before we embark on our journey on the 23rd? We would also need transport from the airport to the lodge and then transport to Go rentals to hire a car on the 23rd July when we check out. Please feel free to share any suggestions you might have that suit our situation. Do you have any discounts or special deals at that time that we could use to get the room a bit cheaper due to the short time we will be using the room? Thank you Emma.
