Looking back at two wonderful weeks in the Western Cape, our two night stay at Backpackers stands out as a true gem. Considering the distance from Stockholm to McGregor it is not likely that we will be back very soon. But until we return we will always miss the totally relaxing end-of-the-world feeling in McGregor topped by the hospitality of Dorothy and Geoff. It was a true pleasure reading all the other postings about Backpackers McGregor here. Many thanks, Pia and Gustaf
So it may be my seventh or eight trip to the backpackers. Always a pleasure, whether it's filled with cyclists or wine drinkers or both. Hugely hospitable and Geoff and Dorothy always keen to suggest new places to go and things to do. I will be back soon
A backpackers with difference. Great place to stay. We visit at least 3 times a year, sometimes more. Dorothy and Geoff are fantastic hosts. Well equipped and facilities are fantastic for A backpackers. Even the birds enjoy the garden.....
Just had a third stay in McGregor Backpackers, for the annual McGregor Poetry Festival. After staying there in August 2015, we have been back every year. We saw you working so hard all weekend long, and yet you made the time to make us all…
We arrived to this piece of heaven after a day trip from Greaton. Geoff picked us up from the end of the trail and took us to the Backpackers. The house is in the middle of a lovely village. The dorms are located in the center of a beautiful highly maintained garden with birds and pool with frogs and fish. You can feel there is a lot of thought put into the details. The dorms were neat and clean, the showers was fantastic, the kichen made you want to be a chef, and all the rest of the facilities was absolutely perfect. Dorothy and Geoff are the best backpackers owners we met during our journey in the past 5 months. They are so pleasant and after one minute it felt like we are family. We enjoyed Dorothy's great cookies, Geoff fun sence of humer, and their cute 2 adopted 3…
