Once again Dorothy and Geoff excelled in making my wife and I and 6 mates feel warmly welcome. We included the McGregor-Greyton hike this time made all the easier by Geoff dropping us off at the beginning and collecting us in Greyton. Highly recommended.

On the strength of my husband's great account of a previous visit, we returned to McGregor's Backpackers with a friend last weekend - and we'll be returning again in a few months with a group of six other adults! The location is convenient and all the rooms/outdoor areas are clean and well cared for. The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment and utensils and we found everything we needed. The owners offer a great balance between being welcoming and hospitable, and letting guests enjoy privacy. They know the area well and were able to offer advice about places to visit and highlights to enjoy.

If you are going to McGregor - stay at McGregor Backpackers. It's a no-brainer. Nothing is too much trouble for Dorothy and Geoff. The rooms are clean, comfortable and good value. Dorothy's rusks are delicious and Geoff is a master at braaing.

At the end of December, My husband, two adult sons, and I stayed one night at McGregors Backpackers after a full day of hiking on the gorgeous Boesmankloof Trail. The trail leads to a waterfall where we met with other McGregor backpacker guests who told us we were going to love our stay! They were right. This one day/night was a highlight of our 2100 km drive through South Africa. Dorothy and Geoff were so helpful answering all of my emails weeks before, as I planned our trip across the ocean from Vermont. When we arrived at Backpackers, Geoff greeted us and directed our car to its secure spot for the night. He personally drove me to a store where I could buy refreshments after our exhausting and adventurous day. The rooms were clean and welcoming. Just outside our room was a

Thank you Barbara for your support of our establishment, McGregor Backpackers. When visitors come from a distance and have limited time and many places to visit, to be remembered by you and your family really warms our hearts. We are so glad you all enjoyed the walk to the Oak Falls. We hope that sometime in the future you will find your way back to magical McGregor.
