Your first impression when you drive down to the house is one of absolute beauty. The mountains in front of the stone house are spectacular. When entering the house you immediately feel at home, the bedrooms are neat and tidy with a kitchen that caters for everything you need. Fire wood is available which is a bargain as you don't have to cart wood from town. The outside deck absolutely rounds off what Eagles Nest offers, views are absolutely mind blowing. After a walk about the rock pool is great to cool down in while admiring the views.
Well equipped self catering house with loads of accommodation in the most secluded magic spot near McGregor. Ideal for starting the Bosmanskloof hike through to Greyton. Make sure to walk along the old historic road. Great bird life. Very limited cell reception a bonus. Fire wood available for sale with an honesty jar.
We had a really awesome time at Eagles Nest. The house is well equipped and the en-suite bathroom attached to every room is a real benefit. We appreciated all the blankets placed all through the house. Bernardo checked in all the time to make sure we have everything we need and he really made us feel at home. And then obviously there are the views and the hiking trails - WOW!!!! You can't get a more stunning view and we spent hours on the patio. We did various hiking trails of which one was to the waterfall. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Eagles Nest is now one of our favourite places in the Western Cape and we plan to make this an annual tradition to visit Eagles Nest!
A great place to celebrate a birthday with special friends. The house is quirky and well equipped. The sunsets are incredible and the sunrises well worth the early rise. We scrambled down to the river and enjoyed a paddle/swim in the rock pool we'd being eyeing from above. I'd love to go back so will be booking well in advance for next year!
This self catering guest house is set in a most stunning area. Magnificent views around the surrounding valley. Take a shortwalk from the house and you will find lots of proteas and birds. If your more enegetic hike down the valley or the surrounding walks. Quirky house but doesnt lack anything even though its quite a way outside McGregor. Agree with Marcus not very child friendly, due to the large balcony perched over the valley.
