Tanagra is an idyllic wine and guest farm with character in the McGregor Valley providing a stylish and yet authentic countryside experience in upmarket and tastefully furnished Self catering accommodation for the wine and nature lover. Relax under the magnificent old wild fig tree in the garden or at the pool, watch the birds, which are there in abundance, stroll along, swim or go fishing in the big dam, go for anything between a leisurely walk in the vineyards or the veld to a more serious hike in the adjoining Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve.
We stayed at Faraway Cottage with our 2 daughters (4 &6). We also had very mixed weather 36 down to 14. We had an amazing experience, the cottage and views from the cottage are amazing, the pool was a godsend on the very hot days. We enjoyed the walks and had a lovely tasting with Robert. Both Robert and Annette were very hospitable and easy to communicate with and our two girls were also very fond of Finn the dog. One of the most scenic places we have stayed at! Thank you!

We had a lovely stay at Tanagra, in the garden cottage. The cottage was comfortable with a great veranda and braai/bbq. The grounds and pool were good, and we felt very secure. McGregor was a few minutes away and was a delight, quiet with a few nice cafes and restaurants and vineyards close by - a nice alternate to busy towns in the winelands. Anette and Robert were welcoming as was their very well behaved dog Finn who gave us a brief visit each day. We look forward to returning.

We rented the loft. On the website it showed beautiful views from the terrace but not the real view you are facing in front of you and for which we attach the picture. Also it is not such a tranquil and peaceful location as there is a road very close with some traffic. We also missed the "South African hospitality". We were given the key to the loft on the parking and no offer to assist us with the luggage of to come upstairs to show us around the loft. Otherwise we agree that the location is nice, the apartment is well equipped and there are very nice walks on the property.

We were fortunate to spend a fantastic weekend at Tanagra before the SA lockdown, staying in the Loft apartment. Little did we know how soon everything was about to change in our country and how lucky we were to spend time in this piece of heaven shortly before! It is our second visit to Tanagra and it will certainly not be our last. The farm and the accommodation are beautiful with breath-taking views (especially from the deck of the Loft apartment), which, paired with Tanagra’s phenomenal wines and Anette and Robert’s unrivalled hospitality, make for an unforgettable stay. Do not make the mistake we made and buy too little wine – you can never have enough Tanagra wines in your cellar! Highly recommend!

Beautiful, well decorated house on a mountain. Very complete. Nice little pool to cool down. A place to relax and to have a wine tasting at the anagram Winery. The location is faraway....the gravel road is very bad but not a real problem.

We stayed in Hill Cottage that we found to be really comfortable with lovely views of the valley from the shaded terrace with sun loungers and plunge pool. We would stay again if we are ever in the area.

If your looking for total peace & quiet, look no further. Stunning location nestled sensitively at the top of the farm, with a house design to match its beautiful surroundings. Annette & Robert are fabulous hosts, their Tanagra wines are most certainly worth tasting as we left with a good supply to share with friends. Only downside was having to leave, I could have stayed for weeks. I will be back!!
