As a family we always enjou our annual stay at SVGF. The MTB trail is well maintained and spoils you with wonderfull views and fynbos. The food experience is top quality and fresh. The accommodation allows for self catering. Our teenage boys enjoys the authentic Overberg farm experience.

We loved our say at this scenic location. Walking trails provide opportunities for taking in the spectacular views and also for working off the calories in the delicious dishes served up by a truly amazing chef. All staff went the extra mile to provide a friendly and efficient service. Special kudos to the facilities manager who generously helped with getting our car unstuck from a muddy patch in the parking area on departure. This place is a hidden gem which we highly recommend.

We arrived at Stanford Valley Guest Farm early afternoon and it was busy, which was wonderful to see at this difficult time for the hospitality industry.

Sarah the GM gave us a warm welcome and spoilt us from arrival to departure with her infectious laughter and warm personality.

Alex, reminded us of a sherpa, loading our luggege and escorting us to our room and then explaining all the amenities and the farm. Alex also served us at dinner and breakfast and has a super gracious personality.

What instantly comes across from the staff at Stamford is that they all love what they do, work well together, seamlessly working without showing any effort to do so.

Our room was spacious and decorated in a retro 70's style, which matched the reception and dining rooms.

Everthing is spotlessly clean, even in winter the grass was perfectly cut and the gardens well manicured.

The artwork in the main lounge and dining area is exquisite and is a representation of some of South Africa’s great artists and sculpturs, which makes an inviting setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Both diner and breakfast, which is prepared in an open kitchen off the dinning area was delicious, my favourite was the Crusted Stonehouse Camerbert starter and the Pork belly main. The Lamb main came in at a very close 2nd. You will want to leave a little room for the Dark Chocolate Fondant... Yummy.

All in all we could not fault our stay and loved walking around the farm and spending some time with the donkeys.

Tip:- if your heading from Cape Town go via Caledon so you miss all the major roadworks between Hermanus and Stanford.

Enjoy you stay.

I booked Stanford Valley Guest Farm for my 50th birthday weekend away with friends and family. it was probably the best weekend I've ever had - Elsabe and her team are unbelievably good at making you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant has sweeping views of the mountains, the rooms are very tastefully decorated. Its not just the setting but the ambience is incredible.

Chef Janine braaied for us on the Friday night in Ouhuis, a gorgeous shed with beautiful old tables and huge braai. She also cooked a superb three course meal on the Saturday . Sundowners at the farm dam, with Alex and Daniel driving up the drinks, right on cue.
Rooms: lovely linen and towels, special extras like rusks & tea and coffee, all rooms and bathrooms are beautifully laid out, not one unit looks the same.
Stunning fynbos meander with wonderful bike and running trails.
There is not one bad thing i can think of. Just go there.

We decided we needed a relaxing weekend to gather our thoughts and to indulge ourselves. From the the first greeting the service was friendly and professional. We stayed in Erica cottage , very comfortable and clean with a cute fireplace, wood was provided, and all the kitchen equipment you will need. The cottage is cozy with a bath and an outside shower. We did some self catering and the balance of our meals we ate at the Manor House restaurant. The food is very tasty and the portions are good and hearty. No stay would be complete without having a meal at the restaurant. We took a stroll around the farm which included the swimming dam , vegetable garden and the horse paddocks. It is a great place for children to run around with lots of open lawns to play on. We took a walk on one of the mountain bike trails which follows the river and climbs up a hill with great views of the valley. We treated ourselves to a massage at the spa which is something i would recommend. The staff are well trained and very knowledgeable and offer advice on what option to choose. The spa away from the other buildings so offers a very relaxing atmosphere
Stanford is a couple of minutes drive away with places to eat and enjoy a coffee while walking through the town.
If you are wanting a place to relax and recharge and be pampered then i would say this a very good option.

We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days at the farm and it is set on the most lush and beautiful rolling green lawns. The welcome from the hosts are warm and friendly. The rooms are very well appointed. The furniture and decor adds luxury and beauty to your stay. The rooms are all serviced so that makes for extra luxury and time off. The fact that the rooms cater to self catering made our stay as a Muslim family even better as we could see to our own dietary needs. The farm has beautiful horses and welsh ponies that one can feed. The swimmable dam area is great for an afternoon picnic and great photo moments. The entire farm is very well maintained and everything is on its place. Access to the local town and surrounding towns range from 10 minutes to 30 minute drives in either direction so it is very well situated.

I felt that the 4* prices were not justified by the standard of the rooms which were extremely basic. The weather was extremely cold last weekend and we were expected to reused our towels even though they were very damp. I had to go to reception and ask for dry towels. The Manor House Restaurant was however 5*. However, it did have 5* prices

Standford Valley Guest Farm is a gorgeous retreat. Nestled between the valley, secluded and quiet. With views that are absolutely breathtaking and creatively invigorating. The rooms are delightful and relaxing with a view of the valley from your bed, the smell of fresh lavender always in the air and a lovely little fireplace to keep the room warm and cosy. At Standford Valley Guest Farm every need is met by the kindest, friendliest and most hospitable staff. We were so well looked after and just want to give a big thanks to Alex and Daniel who made the stay carefree. Not to mention the wonderful ladies at the spa, who relieved any tension we had and pampered us to no end. The food is beyond delicious and the wine selection absolutely gorgeous, with a beautiful local selection. There is so much to be said for this little piece of heaven, but the most spectacular part is probably the lake and hikes. You are emersed in cloud reflecting from the lake from the wooden jetty, and up in the valley, you are surrounded by proteas and wild springs. The great lawn makes for a beautiful picnic spot and the horses wonderful picnic companions. We will definitely be going back for an even longer stay next time! Every part of your stay is considered and taken care of, you just need to show up and relax.

Our stay at Stanford Valley Guest Farm was everything we imagined and so much more! This is the perfect getaway. The farm is peaceful, the cottages are spacious, well-designed and have a great view on the mountains/farm. The staff is just amazing. We booked a spa appointment which added to the already relaxing weekend.
The Manor house, Stanford Valley's own restaurant, served the most AMAZING views for breakfast, lunch and dinner - we could not stay away! We enjoyed our meals while looking over the farm and the mountains.
Hermanus and the Stanford town are just a short drive away, as well as some great private beaches.
We will DEFINITELY be back soon :)

This was really the best family trip ever. With little kids it’s really important to have food available at all times. Stanford valley guest farms offers self catering cottages, but with an amazing restaurant on the premises, which is open from 08:00-20:00. So instead of doing dishes and cooking all day parents get a real break! The Farm is stunningly beautiful with lots of space for kids to run around and feel free. The service was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The Restaurant is just beautiful with beautiful Artwork on the walls. The food was delicious and the wine list makes any wine lover happy. We will definitely back. Thank you to Elsabe for this fantastic stay!
