Detailed Reviews
We chose a four night stay at the start of a three week holiday in the Western Cape and what a good decision it turned out to be. After a long overnight flight and transfer from Cape Town we had a lovely welcome and immediately relaxed in the peace and tranquility we found there.
Our lodge had every comfort you could possibly wish for including indoor and outdoor showers. The view from the decking across to the lagoon and Overberg Mountains was stunning. I vowed to paint it before we left.
All meals breakfast, lunch and dinner were expertly cooked and faultlessly served. I asked Maria, the chef for two of her recipes to bring home.
Activities were carefully planned and we had an exilharating beach excursion and a more sedate river cruise with three birdlife experts to help identify.
A special mention must also go to the lady in the Milkwood spa for her knowledge and experience in my wife's spa treatment for which she made a return visit.
I also had a visit to Stanford farmer's market on my itinerary and Jo-Anne in the reception office organised everything for us.
We moved on to Hermanus and Cape Town fully refreshed and completely relaxed.
Thank you so much to all the Mosaic family.

Isolated & beautifully crafted & appointed lodges. Spectacular views. House wine not v gd; food absolutely wonderful. Bird guide good. Thatch dust a problem for me. Call ahead for alternative to feather duvets and pillows.
Staff v friendly and solicitious, and house manager concerned about my issue with the dust and got a mosquito proofed window opened.
I suggested a mosquito proof slider for one of the doors so the room can be aired when occupants are out.

We added this to the end of our trip after experiencing some Safari's. I am surprised at the glowing reviews as we felt this place was rather run down. It's very rustic and one of the rooms smelled very musty and damp - it was pretty bad. I caution you to be careful what time of year you go - it was a bit cold when we went and the wood stove fire kept going out at night. Also, be careful with this place if you are not a sound sleeper. It can get really loud with the wind at night. We did not sleep either night we were there because the wind was whipping so loudly it felt like we were in the middle of a hurricane. The meal portions were also very small and the menu very limited - you basically just eat whatever they decide to make for the night (they don't ask you)so if there is a type of food you don't like make sure to let them know upfront so they can cook you something alternative. Overall we just walked away with a feeling that this place wasn't doing that well. We always leave very nice tips but you could tell the staff was all over us to make sure we left a tip which sort of left us feeling a big weirded out. It's a beautiful area but I feel like this lodge might be going downhill and could either use a management change or some cash infusion for upgrades.

The location is a little remote from Stanford. It is ideal for romantic couples who are happy to stay at the resort which is luxurious in a beautiful setting overlookig a lagoon and mountain. Your rooms are set in a rustic charm and a good size. Everything is included in the cost. Staff are very helpful. The lodge provides activities at 10 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon for about 45 minutes. These are a walk, quad bikes riding, kayaks or a trip to the beach whale watching. Spa facilities on site and books and board games available. Otherwise not much happens. Perhaps a TV in a common area would be good. A tea towel in room would be helpful and we felt the lighting in room wasn't adequate.

Dear Janine It was such a pleasure to meet and host you at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge. Thank you for your review, we do offer a variety of activities at the lodge as you have mentioned as well as mountain bikes, boat cruise and wine tasting. We do not have TV's in the rooms but there is a TV in the main Lapa area which guests can at any time request to watch a certain sport game or news. Thank you for your suggestion on the tea towel and lighting in the rooms. We hope that you will visit us again. The Team and Mosaic Lagoon Lodge

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! We went to the beach, did a short nature walk and quad biking with Vitalis who was fantastic. And all our meals were delicious - thanks to both Moses and his wife Maria who were always very welcoming at mealtimes. The scenery here is stunning! Perfect place for a short stay:)

Simply loved our stay at the lodge! From the moment we checked in to sadly the moment we checked out! The lodge is rustic and very homely. Not what I expected, though certainly exceeded my expectations. The lodges are made of rocks and each bungalow is very private. Beautiful beds with mosquito nets look inviting as soon as you enter your room. A fire heater is in each room and is put on by staff when they do the turn down, which happens during dinner. Our meals were absolutely beautiful! A taste sensation, fresh, plentiful and again beyond our expectations. Richard, Oswald and Shane definitely were a highlight of our visit and there was nothing more they could have done to make us feel welcome and special.
We did the quad bike tour, which was a great morning out. We also did the boat ride which I’d highly recommend. Thanks to Melissa, the manager, who went out of her way to bring my thermos to the boat ride that I’d left behind after we’d checked out. As I said exceptional service.
The main lodge was a treat at night in front of the lovely warm fireplace. We loved to curl up here and have our cup of tea before dinner. A private balcony off each room was a great place you laze during the day or over by the pool.
Don’t think twice about booking a few nights here as you won’t regret a minute of your stay.

I cannot say enough good things about Mosaic. From the location, to the decor, to the views, to the staff to the activities to the food. Everything was absolutely perfect. I suggest anyone visiting S.A. for an extended time to take 2 days to relax here. We loved every minute of it. We got a couples massage, went ATVing, went on a bird watching cruise, and a nature walk. The food was simply exceptional. The chef catered to my wife's pescatarian diet and each and every meal was absolutely exceptional.
You will not regret spending a few days here.

Absolutely loved my stay! The setting and views on the Klein River lagoon and mountains was stunning - one of the prettiest spots in the Western Cape. Every member of the staff was friendly and attentive, making it feel like my home away from home. And the food was divine! The chef catered to the preferences of my 7 yr old daughter; we're still talking about the food. We loved all of the activities with our knowledgeable guide, Vitalis!

They have a wood pellet heater in the corner. We were a little chilled in the bathroom so they brought in a space heater for the bathroom.
Hi there, we do offer Kayak excursions. Pre-bookings are essential though. Please contact our reservations team on info @ mosaicsouthafrica . com or call 028 313 2814 regarding availability and pricing.
No it would be too far & is not somewhere for a day trip. You need time to relax & enjoy the tranquility whilst taking in the beautiful scenery
Hi Peter,
I just want to make sure you received our answer to this from our website (your question was there also).
Thank you.
