Detailed Reviews
In a city lifestyle where it is teeming with fast paced decisions and movements, we often forget the power of slowing down. Upon arrival we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly eyes that brought about the comfort we so desperately needed. The staff welcomed us as nature had welcomed the lodge, with acceptance and ease.
- Christia Visser & Thomas Webb
The staff was attentive yet not invasive, friendly, and sincere. Their joy could be felt rather than just seen. The entirety of everyone could be summed up with this sentence “I love being here”
We had chosen to embark on every activity they provided. Traversing through rough terrains and sand dunes to reach a secluded beach. Sunset and sundowners accompanied with a picnic brought about an aura of serenity. Waves crashing close to the shore with the laughter of each other as we sipped local fynbos Gin (Non-alcoholic). We found ourselves led to a lagoon for kayaking, with laughter, splashing and capsizing into the shallow waters. With our oars up, birds circling, we were silenced by the beauty of the mountain that stood proud over the lagoon. After drying off, hot chocolate and lunch we were led by our guide, up and down hills with quadbikes. Pauses to smell the fynbos and walks up hills that displayed vast valleys. Being a part of mother earths splendour felt as though the earth itself touched our hearts.
Arriving at the lodge after each activity we were greeted with a beverage that suited the weather. The rooms felt warm and welcoming. With large bathtubs for romantic evenings. With outside showers and warm water, you can take your time gazing at the stars. The meals were set menus that kept us full and vibrant. All their greens are grown in their garden and freshly picked for each meal. Mosaic lodge is health conscious and always preserving mother earth, providing an array of alternative options for vegetarians, vegans etc. The chef was well suited in his craft and I soon realized food should be enjoyed by all senses, not only by taste.
Mosaic lodge was not built in nature but rather inspired by it. All is blessed who visit at Mosaic lodge. Our gratitude is deep, and our hearts are warm with Joy. Thank you.

My daughter and I spent a lovely evening and morning at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our log cabin which has a lovely view over the lagoon and all available space has been utilised to allow the maximum light to infiltrate the cabin. The beds and linen were luxurious, great heating should you need it, lovely indoor and outdoor shower and the bathroom was heavenly with a stone bath with essential oil flower pot pourri to scatter in the water, .....
We were assigned a butler who looked after our needs and pointed out a path for a lovely walk. There is canoeing, biking, quad bikes, etc but we chose the spa and thoroughly enjoyed the pampering.
The food was great and they catered for vegetarians.
The road was a little corrugated but apparently soon to be rectified.
We had a lovely stay and would recommend for couples or family getaway.

Trust me its worth your time to be there. You shouldn't miss the opportunity. Mosaic offers a secluded spot with every need provided. The cost is somewhat expensive but you can stay there and need to spend dollars for nothing else, including food, wine and beer.

Mosaic is situated in the middle of nowhere, just about 8 km outside of Standford on a dust road. It is so beautiful and tranquil there and you do not feel lie you are anywhere near a town or city.
The staff are all friendly and personable. The accommodation is spacious with great quality linen and towels and lovely amenities. Every chalet is privately situated from one another. Lovely little pool area. There are only 5 rooms so you almost feel you're the only people there. :) I also had a very nice massage.
The chef is highly accommodating and food delicious.

Mosiac Lodge ticked all the boxes. Well trained friendly staff, excellent food, and attention to detail in so many ways. Luxurious bedding and towels and a wood burner in the bedroom which was lit by the staff before bedtime all added to the most comfortable stay. The Spa offers a selection of treatments and my massage was one of the best that I have had. A definite 5 star experience and highly recommended.

We decided to spend a night here as they have a special rate for SA citizens. Access to the lodge is via 10km of gravel road which needs attention but worth the bumps. The staff are really friendly and professional. Meals where included in the rate and where exceptional. Compliments to the chef! The quad bike ride was great. We really enjoyed that.
The rooms are typical lodge decor and layout. The rooms could do with a tiny update here and there. Not major, but to meet 5 star expectations. The bed was comfy and the fireplace in the room kept it nice a toasty. I would have loved to had a treatment at the spa but our time was limited.

The Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is a wonderful and spoiling retreat from the noise and rush of the 21st century. Its situation, in a milkwood forest on the edge of the Hermanus lagoon, is super-secluded, with wonderful views of the Overberg Mountains opposite and the abundant birdlife on the lagoon itself. The staff are incredibly welcoming; the rooms spotless; the food excellent; and the opportunities to explore the 1,000 hectare reservation (and Walker's Bay beach beyond it) on foot, MTB, quad bike and jeep are outstanding. (The MTBs could do with some serious tlc, but that is a problem common to all resorts, in our experience.) Really wonderful stay for 3 nights.

We (2 couples and my octogenarian mother) needed a family break after my husband and daughter, both health professionals, had worked through our peak Covid wave over the festive season. Although we were subjected to the national alcohol ban and curfew (staff had to get home by 10pm thus close the dining area by 9pm), they were accommodating and sensitive to our needs. Covid protocols were observed and everyone felt very comfortable.
Our guide looked after us very well, taking us to the Stanford river cruise, guided our adventurers on quad bikes, and was knowledgable on our nature walkabout on the lagoon edge. We enjoyed a bit of the spa too - just a word of warning, book in advance as they take outside spa guests as well.
It was just what we all needed - a beautiful and restful respite from the pandemic chaos.

Dear Alison and Andre Thank you for taking the time to review us, it is much appreciated. So happy to hear that you enjoyed everything even though it was a little bit of a "different" time with the Covid rules. The River cruise is really a awesome activity to do, just love all the bird life down the lagoon. Glad that your mom Barbara could also be here to spend time with you all Kind Regards The Team at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge

Having been lucky enough to have travelled extensively, I think I might have found my new favourite place! The location is stunning, the staff have been nothing short of amazing and very kind to accommodate me, when my travel plans were changed and I was diverted from Zimbabwe. Genuinely lovely people, all of them, 5* service and activities to match, quad biking, walking, beach trip or you can enjoy doing absolutely nothing. Never felt so spoilt and was reassured and completely looked after, during a difficult travel period, I will be saving hard to come back!

They have a wood pellet heater in the corner. We were a little chilled in the bathroom so they brought in a space heater for the bathroom.
Hi there, we do offer Kayak excursions. Pre-bookings are essential though. Please contact our reservations team on info @ mosaicsouthafrica . com or call 028 313 2814 regarding availability and pricing.
No it would be too far & is not somewhere for a day trip. You need time to relax & enjoy the tranquility whilst taking in the beautiful scenery
Hi Peter,
I just want to make sure you received our answer to this from our website (your question was there also).
Thank you.
