Bellavista is located in beautiful surroundings.
It is situated 2km from the main, so it is very peaceful and quiet.
Nice views.
The rooms were immaculate and in good condition. Each cottage is separate and private.
Overall, we were very impressed.

Lying upon a hill above Stanford, the villa's and rooms are set in a wonderful garden, full of flowers, birds and beautiful views. It is very quiet place to relax and enjoy the nature. Louise, Ken and personnel are very friendly and helpful. They can advise you on what to do, see in the neighbourhood. The villa's are very clean and spacious. It is not cheap, but for the luxury you get and the beautiful setting, it is worthy.

We enjoyed the beautiful house and surroundings. On a clear day we could look across Walker Bay to Cape Hangklip and beyond we could just make out Cape Point. This is a place to rest, read and enjoy the big pool.
We were just a bit disappointed as the information on booking.com was not clear on the fact that there would be no room service available at all. Our room did not have self-catering facilities which meant that we had to leave Bellavista Country Place if we wanted a warm meal with the nearest restaurant 8 km away.

We have been just recently at the Bellavista Country Place for 3 nights, it is certainly a nice place to stay, overall I do agree with most of the other reviews and the comments I have read, quite, peaceful, clean and relaxing, nevertheless other than that the managers running and operating the place are not what have experienced over many years in South Africa, the worm welcome, friendly reception, people making you feel like home. It was a very pure and very unprofessional manners, the personality of the managers where rather cool, retiring and cautious.
The only positive point, the local guy in service has been friendly and helpful.
The overall value for money is pure and was way overpriced, I don’t mind paying for service and friendly reception and warm welcome chat and a friendly handshake when you arrive, but we haven’t found none of that.

Guten Tag Herr SavanaDry, Thanks for your very positive review, at least the first part was very nice. As far as the "behaviour" of the responsible staff is concerned, I might slightly disagree with you. Louise who checked you in and out has helped you considerably along your stay to find interesting places in our beautiful Overberg such as your day trip to Cap Aghulas which you liked so much as well as other places you visited according to her propositions. I am sorry she did not shake your hand, it is not an automatic habit of all cultures to do so.... not even in Germany. Alles Gute!

Our family with 4 children enjoyed the most wonderful weekend at Bellavista Country place.
The food at the restaurant is outstanding and we all relished every meal.
The hotel locations' wildlife, fish bonds, diverse bird life, scenery, fynbos as far as the eye can see, fantastic swimming pool with a magnificent view and the freshest air we have ever experienced provided an experience of joy, energy, tranquility and rejuvenation.
The hotel staff are dedicated and kind, professional and gave exceptional service.
We cannot wait to return!

Bellavista Country Place does not disappoint. Every aspect of our stay certainly went beyond our expectations. The rooms were beautifully presented, the restaurant served us well and the calm, relaxed pool-side was sublime. Vast expanse of Fynbos and birdlife envelop Bellavista. The only sounds one heard was the chirping of the birds indigenous to the area. The staff were forever present, yet never "seen" This wonderful place is world class.

Stayed two nights over christmas with the family and it was a fantastic place to relax. It is a bit of a drive to everything but that is well made up for by the view, the restaurant and the service. It is well worth a visit if you want to relax but also works as a HQ for excursions to beaches, wine farms and much more.

Our group of 12 retired hiking friends stayed at Bellavista, which is the base for the Diversity Trail. The staff were friendly and helpful and the accommodation and the catering were outstanding. The late spring flowers were spectacular. The trail was truly diverse and our guide, Christoff, was a mine of fascinating information. He also kindly adapted the hikes to accommodate the more limited capacities of our group. All the days had their highlights but the Michelin Chef's dinner on the last night was memorable. A boat trip down the Kleinrivier at Stanford was a further bonus.

Spent 4 nights at Bellavista Country Place. It is an excellent setting and the rooms are fitted to a high standard. Unfortunately, it was let down by 2 things. The pictures of the suite on their website show a totally different bathroom to the 1 in the suite. Our bathroom had a shower but no bath, though the website indicates there is a bath. As my partner really enjoys taking a bath whilst on holiday, she was devastated when there wasn't 1 and wouldn't have selected this suite if she had realised before booking. Requests to move to a suite with a bath were met with - the rooms are all occupied or guests are coming who have specifically requested these rooms. Probably more about charging more for the mirror-image suite with a bath! The other big let down was the fact that the licensed restaurant was closed for Winter & the Chef had left. As Bellavista is at least 10Km from any other restaurant, this was not good news, particularly if you were planning on sharing a bottle of wine over dinner! Also meant that breakfast was deliverd to your room in a hamper every morning. Novel on the 1st morning, OK on the 2nd, repetitious by the 3rd & 4th mornings. There was nothing I could find on the website to indicate the restaurant was closed, despite being told it was stated here. It is even advertised as Bellavista Country Place & Panorama restaurant, with quite a lot of detail about it in the info folder in the suite. South Africa now has a Consumer Protection Law and I would suspect the presentation could contravene it.

Hello Mr. Norman C. Its is a bit late for my answer, with my apologies. It is so strange that you think our place is "let down". During every wintertime we go through a complete maintenance, repair and updating of all buildings inside and outside, including buying new equipement, towels, linen etc etc. You and your wife had an special package at 50% discount during the period of your stay. I am suprised that you rate the "Value" 3 out of 5. This Special was only for two specific accommodations. During the booking you did not mention that you'd like a room with a bathtub or anything else particularly. As you could see from the location of your accommodation, the other rooms were also booked by regular customers who all made their bookings before you. You mention that our website gives wrong pictures. I am surprised about this statement as every single photograph corresponds to reality. And there is a limit how many pics would make a website userfriendly. You say that you browsed the website, you surely should have seen our notice saying that the restaurant was closed over winter time [after April] and will open again at the end of September, sorry is you missed this too. We are very proud of our hamper breakfast being delivered to the rooms. Most guests love this as they can then linger at leasure. And we are also making very sure that guests who stay several nights will get every morning a new variation of food. It is a pitty that the fact of not having mentioned that you require a bathtub put you into such a bad mood. It is also a great pitty that this led you to damage some expensive decoration and two kitchen tools which inspite of having been hidden away were discovered by our housekeeping, after your departure.

We stayed the second time at Bellavista. The views are georgeous. It is a wonderful lodge a bit outside the busy place Hermanus. It is amindst the Fynbos nature with a magnificient view over Walker Bay. The rooms we stayed in were in perfect condition and quite luxurious. We enjoyed the stay there. The restaurant is also worth mentioning. Excellent quality of food. The chef is from France and has been also trained in UK. Quite unique in that area. The staff of the lodge and the restaurant are very children friendly which is important. There are a number of guesthouses in the De Kelders\Gaansbaai area who do not accept children as guest. Therefore it is worth mentioning that Bellavista is one of the few exceptions.

Hi, Thanks for your kind inquiry. Unfortunately we cannot help as our Panorama Restaurant is closed over the cold season, i.e. from beg. May to end September :-( See you during the warm season?... Best regards, Georges
