Rarely does one find unique accommodation quite like this. A wine farm offering four newly renovated cottages, majestically situated on top of a hill. These self-catering units (two 2-bedroom and two 1-bedroom cottages) have fully equipped kitchens, as well as outside braai facilities. There are inside fireplaces in all the rooms. Lie in bed read a book, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the embers while soaking up the ambiance, which says, relax, and enjoy! If sitting on the hill gazing at the lagoon gets all too much for you, take a slow wonder down the dirt road to the cellar and taste their award winning Sauvignon Blanc, Rose or Shiraz.

After spending much of the day exporting the area we stopped at Misty Mountain for some refreshments and a light snacks. Nachos and focaccia were both very enjoyable and service was attentive. The bar looked very nice and if we had more time would have liked to try the gin and beer tasting option. Don’t forget to pop into the quaint little dark stall for a coffee and some nice treats to take home.

The restaurant is very nicely laid out and the outdoor has nice views over the vineyards . Their wines and Gins are worth a visit and our burgers were perfectly done. Next time we'll try their pizzas. Dog friendly!

We spent a night at Misty Mountains. When we arrived the charming Robert took us through their flavoured gin and wine tasting and we ordered their renowned thin based pizzas, which were delicious! They produce an excellent range of flavoured gins - my favorite was the Turkish Delight flavour. We spent the night at their Aristea cottage, a roomy, comfortable two bedroomed unit with a fully equipped kitchen. The cottages are surrounded by a row of trees with wonderful birdlife. We had a super time here and will come again.

We spent four nights in one of the cottages and found that the standard was not what would be expected as depicted on the online photographs.
The rooms were small, kitchen furniture rudimentary , no mirror in the main bathroom, brooms and mop in corner of kitchen as no broom cupboard, kitchen trough has seen better days.
No headboard, no sanitizer in the room. The advertised farm stall and coffee shop were closed and we we were not advised in advance.
The bed was very comfortable and the electric blanket was a bonus.
As we are not wine drinkers, the farm had little appeal for us.
On the other hand the staff were very friendly and the pizzas good.
One night yes, more not. Expensive for what we got.

We went for a wine tasting and lunch, and were very pleasantly surprised at our experience.
Our (Zimbabwean) waiter was excellent, and very knowledgeable. We did the wine tasting, and had lunch as well. We were served a small platter of deep fried, crispy grated potato, and olives to nibble on. My grilled calamari was great, as was the steak, egg and chips.
We will go back for the gin tasting

My wife and I stayed at Misty Mountains just outside Stanford for a couple of nights. The cottage accommodation was great and fantastic value too.

The restaurant onsite was brill and Jose looked after us so well, as did the staff who looked after us for the wine tasting and dinner service.

A great experience.

We stopped at Misty Mountain to taste their highly rated sauvignon blanc but ended up with tasting the full range and having the best lunch of our holiday. The reception at the entrance was warm and welcoming, the atmosphere fantastic and the food outstanding. In addition they offer a beer and gin tasting. Both are brewed on the estate. We drove away with a few cases of wine and again stopped there at the end of the holiday to take more wine home. Well worth the visit. We will return.

What a beautiful place. Excellent staff and the owner is such a nice host. All tastings are really worth it and the food is yummy. Roadworks has had a huge impact on business, so please take the time to pop in. Don't miss out on a lovely place and support this stunning venue.

We did the wine tasting and had a focaccia as accompaniment. They have mostly white wines and their best is the bush wine. I’ve never heard of the cultivar that grows along the ground, so that was quite interesting! You are given a sheet of paper with each of the 6 wines described and then you work your way through at your pace. The owner stopped by to greet us too. It’s a very friendly and family environment. They’re also dog friendly!
