Staying at the Garden Route Game Lodge was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa. From the moment of our arrival we were impressed by the personalised, friendly behaviour of the staff, the accommodation with careful attention to every detail to ensure a comfortable, incredibly peaceful stay, the informative, humorous game drive and the delicious dinner and breakfast. Our only regret was having stayed only one night. If you’re looking to recharge your batteries, pamper yourself to this peaceful retreat surrounded by spectacular natural surroundings.

We visited in December 2021. The whole team is great and big thank you to the customer service team who ensured that i had a voucher to use as my original booking was just at the beginning of covid and could not make it to South Africa from the UK at the time. The vibe is exactly what you expect from a lodge - welcoming, home away from home, peaceful and luxurious. The food and drinks were great too. we stayed the family villa with the plunge pool which i can really recommend, although i suspect that all the rooms are great - this one however had real privacy and ample space to hang out on the porch. The game drive was my highlight and very knowledgeable guide. Cold but fun. Do dress warm, i guess even in summer - they do have ponchos if you get cold. The end of the drive is great when you get dropped off at big fire lapa with bar. We also visited the spa which i can really recommend

So Saturday was my little girl's birthday and we decided to spend it at GRGL. It was a surprise for her and the team did an excellent job making it special . So thank you very much for the great party you put on for us. The game drive was just awesome, getting the opportunity to see the cheetah family was out of this world. The braai afterwards was superb, not only the quality, but the spread was just perfect. The rooms were very comfortable and perfectly clean. The service we experienced was top notch, right from the coffee we had upon arrival to the excellent breakfast on Sunday morning. Thank you to the whole team who looked after us, it was an experience we will remember for a very long time.
