This country Hotel on the N1 had a welcoming surprise....even the 2 dogs came to say"welcome"....The interior of the hotel was neat and tidy and we could relax with a cup of coffee in the lounge area, not at all noisy....real country atmosphere.....
The room was also very neat with comfortable beds.....to we could get a well deserved rest, after a long distance drive.I liked the pasta that i have eaten, and my husband was very satisfied with his steak...grilled to perfection, done in real Portuguese style. The owner Vincent, (I think) and my husband chatted like old friends about good Portuguese food...even though he is not Portuguese....The breakfast was great the 1st morning, but due to the fact that we went late to eat on the Sunday morning, the breakfast already prepared was a bit disappointing, as it was cold. However, the staff did warm it up for us, which was to me good service recovery. The sunset was extra ordinary....with the huge palm trees outside, and a little bit of imagination, you could believe you are close to the sea....
I would recommend this hotel to sleep over and have supper, if you are on your way to the Zimbabwe border....it is situated 16km from Louis Trichardt (Makhado) and you will be well rested to take your trip further.

The rooms are very large and quite comfortable. Food was ok and the service was also good. Very large bar and friendly personal. Unfortunately they were experiencing water problems due to the drought. I am sure this would have been sorted out due the recent good rains.

We were very disappointed in our stay here. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating but the place seemed a bit run down. Quite a lot of litter lying around the property and the swimming pool was an unattractive shade of green. The food was good but not good enough to tempt us back there.

Overall it was what you expected from any hotel and if you need somewhere to stop over and refresh over a trip I would recommend this place. The rooms were attractive and even though there was a limited choice of channels they were good. The food was enjoyable.
