We had the most glorious few days at Reedsdell, it is truly a slice of heaven! The views are spectacular, topped off with snow whilst we were there - amazing! Our host Kath couldn’t have been more welcoming she made us feel like family. Great to meet Chris too- he’s a brilliant farmer. Plenty of space for the kids to run around in the beautiful garden. Topped off with delicious food and great staff, I couldn’t recommend Reedsdell more highly- thank you so much Isteds!!!

As a group of colleagues on business, we stayed over for three nights in June, which is winter and there was snow everywhere. The friendly staff made our stay very comfortable and very warm and homely. It's also very impressive that the staff is actually a family and they are the owners of the premises and they are very hands and cook the most delectable hearty winter dishes, giving the place a very country feel especially with its farm tranquility. The guest house boasts modern touches such as wifi and plasma tvs and electric blankets. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Overall stay was very pleasant and memorable.

A wonderful place to stay in this lovely mountainous area at the foot of Lundean's Nek. Really great food provided. Great walks in the area and for those who want to do a hike the 3 to 4 day Wartrail Skywalk is really great.

After a very tiring trip on the R393 from Telle Bridge over Lundin's Nek we felt at ease the moment we entered the chalet! We admired its interior which makes you feel at home. We forgot that we were tired and after a meal prepared on our own life was back again.
Suggestion: it would help to mention that the road R393 coming from the pass is very bad even for SUV.

After a 6,5 hr drive from Johannesburg we arrived at Reedsdell to be greated by Mamela who had not only baked us a chocolate cake and set out coffee and tea for our arrival but had also switched on the bedroom heaters and gas heater for our comfort. The cottage was so welcoming that we couldn't wait to sit and enjoy T.V in the comfort of our lounge with a crackling fireplace that was also set up for us every evening. Kath the owner prepared meals that were delivered to our cottage for both breakfast and dinner, meals that not even I could make using an exclusive cook book, the food was phenomenal. There is only 1 guest cottage accommodating a family of 4 although on special request Kath arranged an additional bunk bed for us as we are a family of 5. The spacious cottage is cosy and tranquility is truly the key idea. My Children thrived on watching the animals get fed early morning, the challenge of chasing the sheep, the long adventure walks down to the river and the short trip up to snow ski at Tiffendell. Kath was more than willing to drive out and show us some very historic san cave drawings which children in Johannesburg would never see unless in a museum. The whole farm experience was soul fulfilling and we can not wait to return in summer with our motorbikes for some great outdoor riding. Nothing I say could really prepare anyone for the amazing homely treatment that is offered at this wonderful guest farm. A little note to self, take own medications as the nearest hospital is in Barkly and hour drive down on the dirt road although Kath has a wonderful relationship with the other farmers/doctors in the area. Special thanks to Dr Marion for helping set a cast on my sons arm.
