Much cheaper than the hotels right at Ras Al Jinz - we stopped here for a few nights while roadtripping in Oman. I can't recommend this place enough - spacious rooms, comfortable bed, quiet rooms, clean bathroom, amenities, good water pressure, good internet, delicious big breakfast. Very easy drive to the turtles. But the thing that makes this guesthouse stand out the most is the 5 star service. Most pleasant staff encountered in the world - they really made the stay memorable. They are exceptionally polite and helpful and transformed what would be just a nice, comfortable clean guesthouse into a place I'd love to come back to and would happily recommend to friends and family. Excellent value, has everything a traveller needs - you'd be nuts to stay anywhere else. Yes it is

We stayed one night at Ras Al Hadd Guest house on our round trip of Oman. The Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve rooms were fully booked and Ras Al Hadd Guest house seemed like the most convenient nearby location to stay at. We arrived at night after dark and we had some difficulty locating the hotel in the dark - which isn't that surprising since there is no proper road leading there. At daylight it's easy to find as it is just on the other side of an old, unused air strip and is very visible. We had already booked our turtle viewing at Ras Al Jinz but the guest house also has their own turtle viewing option, which we did not try. Staff was extremely friendly and service oriented, the rooms were basic but very clean, bathroom was very clean, food was basic but good. Value for money.

In general, we definitely enjoyed our stay at Ras Al Hadd Guest House. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and we even got an "upgrade" (meaning we got the biggest room, including a large private balcony) for free. The location is just perfect in case you want to go turtle watching in Ras Al Hadd (walking distance) or the more well-known Ras Al Jinz turtle sanctuary (15 km; 15 minutes by car). The breakfast is rather modest but tasty. Also the view during the breakfast, which is served on the large balcony on the top floor, overlooking the sea, is very appealing.

Immediately, the hotel staff was very attentive and did everything to make us comfortable. There was separate WIFI on every floor which functioned very well, which seems to be rare at less expensive hotels in Oman. They offered breakfast and dinner, but we only took breakfast-- a lovely spread that they served us privately on the balcony whenever we decided we wanted it after waking up. The surrounding beach is beautiful to stroll around, and quite private, to the point where you could possibly be alone in your "western swimwear". It was a bit difficult to find, as the signage kind of stops, but you just need to drive over the old concrete expanse toward the beach and you'll see the big building-- the "roads" seem unimportant there. It is not too close to Sur, but an easy and
