Nestled on the idyllic Beau Vallon beach, STORY Seychelles garners praise for its romantic and intimate atmosphere that charms its guests. The spacious rooms offer comfort, though a few guests have pointed out cleanliness issues. While the hotel's amenities – including diverse dining options and a well-equipped gym – receive high marks, some guests feel the prices don't always equate to the value received.
The service is generally celebrated for being attentive, but it's not without occasional lapses. Despite this, the hotel's prime location and overall cleanliness are consistently applauded.

We stayed at the Story for my birthday and it was exceptional, we absolutely loved everything about it. The staff were cheerful, smiling and welcoming at all time. I would like to make a special mention to Lisianne and Merna who made our holiday. Lisianne went out of her way to make our holiday memorable she made us feel so happy, especially my birthday she was amazing!! Merna always has a smile and was a delight to see every morning with Lisianne. Waven brought me a coconut for my birthday, Genelynn at Trader Vics was great, Famidah at the bar and Abdou too. The facilities were great throughout. I had a lovely massage with Hemma on my birthday. Thanks for Ailish for checking in and seeing how everything was, she was wonderful. The staff really made our stay so special. The Story was 5 star throughout and we loved every minute of our holiday and highly recommend this hotel.

The breakfast buffet more or less meets the expectations of a 5-star hotel in the price range. There is plenty of choice and the service is really fantastic. My wife was pregnant, so we had to pay attention to some things about her (pasteurized or vegan milk, eggs/meat/fish fully cooked, etc.) The restaurants have always implemented our wishes and after a few days we no longer had to ask for them, but the employees acted proactively.
The beach is sensational. The location of the hotel could not be better. Only we had to deal with jellyfish for the first 3 days. But thank God these disappeared, so we could enjoy the sea, the corals and the many colorful fish.
The room is top furnished, the bed and mattress super cozy - which my wife and I really appreciated as we have a box spring bed at home. The room was cleaned daily and here too the service staff has constantly taken the extra steps to make our stay even more pleasant. They folded clothes, for example, or proactively left us more water bottles (as they noticed that we regularly asked for extra water bottles).
In general, I would like to emphasize the proactive service that runs through the entire staff.

We stayed 16 days as guests at STORY Seychelles. We stayed in a junior suite with balcony, with breakfast. The large room (56 m2) offered all possible comforts (TV, air conditioning, king size beds, internet, 2 bottles of water daily, etc.). The bathroom were very large with walk-in large shower, bathtub extra, toilet, 2 sinks, etc. Room service came daily in the afternoon and asked if anything was missing. The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful and cleaned our suite very thoroughly every day. The breakfast was very, very extensive and very high quality; nothing was missing. In addition, you could order fruit and cheese plates and egg dishes in all variations at the table. The staff in the breakfast room were always very friendly and attentive. Especially worth mentioning was the view from the breakfast area over the beach to the ocean. The entire resort complex has a very nice, large and well-kept garden, volleyball, boules and tennis courts, as well as a gym. We have borrowed a canoe for free. There was a large pool but we did not use it as the ocean and beach are right in front of the complex. In the evenings we had a lot of variety by offering delicious food at Vascos, Trader Vic's Restaurant and 1502 Bar. Our favorite was the French Polynesian Trader Vic's Restaurant. In a South Seas ambience, there was not only an excellent range of different food, but also many different cocktails and daily live music. The reception staff was always very friendly and helpful; especially Ms. We particularly liked Neige with her perfect German language skills. Conclusion: we had a very, very nice holiday and we can recommend the Story Resort without restriction.

We had an absolutely wonderful honeymoon here this last week. The staff are fantastic, the many food options are excellent, the location is stunning, the rooms are beautiful and clean, and the spa treatments were lovely. There is so much to rave about we might not be able to get to it all. But the tldr is that while it was (for us anyway) pretty pricey, you absolutely get what you pay for in the best possible way.
The staff took really good care of us. We were welcomed by a lovely honeymoon spread including champagne, fruit, cake, flowers, and a welcome laid out on our bed (picture attached). We were allowed to both check in early and check out late. They answered all our questions confidently and capably. They took care of booking us our taxis, shuttles, etc for our activities. When we left the sign outside our door as not asking for cleaning service for two nights in a row they left us water bottles outside our door to make sure we didn't run out of water 🥰.
The food was all fantastic, the daily breakfast buffet was delicious, and we particularly loved Trader Vic's (which we reviewed separately) and Paris Seychelles.
The conservation work being done at the resort is also really cool and we really appreciated being shown the wetlands, river, and coral farming/restoration area. The wildlife (especially the herons, lizards, and crabs) were all really fun to get to share space with.
We had a wonderful time at the on resort spa (Sesel Spa) where we got the couples package on the first and last days of our trip. Our masseuses were attentive, the massages were lovely, the space relaxing, and the appetizers delicious.
Spending time by the pool or beach, sipping on a cold drink, nibbling on a fruit skewer, and playing cards with my wife will be memories I treasure forever.
One quick somewhat negative note about the beach itself. This is (I think) mostly a reflection of the time of year which is one of the two monsoon seasons. However the surf was pretty powerful and had somewhat torn up the sand / sea bed making walking out into swimming depth water fairly painful on broken rocks and coral. On one of our days there we saw and ended up helping an older couple who had been knocked over on the waters edge, and if you are on the older / frailer side or don't trust your balance I would recommend sticking to the pool rather than trying to make it out into the ocean in January.

Dear matthewg, Warm greetings from Story Seychelles. Thank you for taking the time to post your great review and for sharing such great details about your stay. We are simply delighted to hear that SO many aspects of your special honeymoon stay were so memorable and that we were able to exceed your expectations in so many ways. We are always honoured when guests choose our resort for special occasions and make every effort to surprise and delight them throughout their stay. We do apologise if the weather and sea conditions were not very favourable during your stay, obviously it is something that is out of our control, hence why we try to provide such a welcoming pool area with both our main pool and kids pool for our guests to enjoy throughout the year. Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back to Story Seychelles in the future, perhaps for a wedding anniversary celebration! Kind regards, Marlon Abeyakoon, General Manager

Just read Jane R review and could not agree more. Everything is on point. The hotel location is very favorable by being close to Victoria and Beau Vallon You have the option of dining outside the resort given the fact that the food at restaurant is just average. The menus are very limited and vegetables are almost non existent unless you want carrots Every single restaurant is very average and the prices are high. The rooms are nice and large abut could use an update and the beach is gorgeous but there are no beach chairs!! The few beach chairs are occupied at 8 am by people who leave their stuff on chairs and show up at 12!!! People sit on towels on the sand at a 5 star resort ????? The gym is large but there are no wipes to sanitize the old and broken equipment. Does the word maintenance ring a bell? Housekeeping is overwhelmed and it takes multiple requests to get a blanket or towels or anything !!! The hotel can be easily a 5 star but for now it needs to change rating to 4 or 3+! It’s a pure management problem which needs to be changed quickly! Story hotel wake up please ! So for now save your money and go to Kempinski or elsewhere …..

Dear Pemiliam, Warm greetings from Story Seychelles. Thank you for taking the time to post your review and share your valuable feedback about your recent stay. While we were pleased to see from your comments that some elements of the experience were pleasing such as the location, we are of course disappointed that we failed to meet your expectations. Your feedback regarding the food quality and selection as well as the lack of sun loungers and improvements we can make at the gym have been well noted and I am personally working with my senior team to take corrective action to avoid these areas of concern moving forward. Thank you once more for your review as all feedback, including areas of improvement, is welcomed and appreciated. We hope that should you return to the Seychelles in the future, you might give us a second chance to make a more positive impression. Kind regards, Marlon Abeyakoon, General Manager

Family holiday with 3 year old. Excellent hotel for the services that are offered and for the care and attention reserved. Starting from the entrance and reception the staff is very helpful and check in is quick and clear. There are many free activities within the resort (kayaking, snorkeling, volleyball, tennis etc.). Everything is explained exhaustively by the receptionists (the only note maybe leave an explanatory leaflet because the information is a lot, even if later you can view everything with a qr code or from the TV in the room). Very spacious and well air-conditioned rooms. Cleanliness of the room and common areas impeccable. Swimming pool with towels available free of charge. Well-kept beach, sunbeds should be changed as many are worn. Sea in front of the hotel very nice (you can snorkel and see corals/turtles). Full board includes buffet breakfast at the main restaurant, 3-course lunch (drinks not included) in a restaurant of your choice, dinner in the main restaurant or in 4 other restaurants in the resort with a credit of 45 euros per person. The food is very good and varied. There is also a very well maintained play area for children. Our stay was a real success.

This was the second time we have stayed at this lovely hotel. It has beautiful beaches, A fun pool area with Ripples bar. Lots of daily activities but it's a bit too humid for volleyball or tennis.
What makes the hotel is the staff. They are very friendly, smiley and can even be be given to the occasional fit of giggles.
Much of this warmth comes from the local l managers. Foremost is Blanche Neige (her daddy liked snow white). She spotted that our return flight was at 11.00 pm and spontaneously came up to us and said would you like to keep your room until 8 pm.... and I can extend your full inclusive to 5 pm if you like..... yes we did like very much.
Amongst the friendliest of the very charming young waitresses were Shakira who organised a surprise good bye cake for some friends who were leaving and Merna who made a special trip to our room just to say goodbye.
At Ripples bar there were Kevin and Fernando ( who was blissfully unaware of Abba - but perhaps my voice wasn't quite up to the song). Kevin had an 8 week on daughter but managed to be bubbly all day mixing incredible cocktails. Must mention Leroy and Barry the twins (brothers I believe) who rushed round the pool keeping everyone happy
The wonderful staff struggled against what appeared to be interference from an ever changing higher management- all who wished to leave their imprint from their 1-3 month stint at the hotel. A change we noticed when eating at the Japanese restaurant. The food was delicious but at the end we got a bill for 700+ rupees (about $60) for the 2 glasses of house wine that we had both had with the meal. Since we were on all inclusive deal we were somewhat outraged. This was apparently one of the changes from the previous year when we had been to the same restaurant.
The on duty manager agreed that had been no information to let us know of this petty change and organised a refund.
Do these managers really think it is progress to infuriate your loyal customers in this mean money pinching way?

We’ll start off with the good. Some of the staff were extremely nice, the rooms were nice and the hotel is on a nice beach but that’s about where it ends!!
Check in was horrible. We arrived early so only two people got to check in early for $200 extra. I got an email stating to pay for a full day if I was going to arrive early. Then the other 4 guests rooms were ready and again I’m still waiting. The lady from the front desk literally came out and said that everyone’s room was ready but mine so needless to say I waited in the lobby until 3pm. We were allowed to eat but food will be next as the food isn’t worth the price and I’m saying this as someone on the all inclusive package.
Checkout: just as bad as check in. Everyone in my group was able to extend checkout until 5 but me as our flight doesn’t leave until 7pm. Idk if they have something against me but this is crazy.
Room cleaning: Again as the only person who had to wait until 3pm to check in why was there an open razor in the bathroom that stayed until checkout. It was never removed. I had to call the front desk multiple times for wash clothes and for the third night I didn’t receive any at all, good thing I usually bring one of my own.
Room service: the menu for room service is very limited and the options aren’t good at all.
Food: One of the most important aspects! The food was decent at minimum. The first night after waiting around in the lobby all day we received lunch. I had steak from 1502 that was burnt and wasn’t very good at all. Later that night at Trader Joe’s we waited over 1.5 hours for our main course. It took so long that I actually left the restaurant, it was just that bad (and as a side note the food was not worth the wait). Same thing with food ordered from the pool and other places.
Needless to say I wouldn’t return!!!!!

Very good location right on the sea. Spacious garden with beautiful pool overlooking the beach. The beach is maintained every day, sunbeds included and beach towels in unlimited numbers. Staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. The rooms large with nice bathroom and toilet (separate). The food, we had booked breakfast and sometimes went to eat at the hotel, in buffet form is excellent and offers something for everyone. It was a lovely, unforgettable time we spent at this hotel.

We did B&B only and ended up eating in the hotel every night due to lack of nice restaurants walking distance. Decent choice between the main buffet (which is very nice) and the other three hotel restaurants. So if going again I’d do half board. There are beach restaurants but they’re very casual and not really what I’d call a dinner venue. If you’re prepared to drive, then there’s a couple of options short drive away. All incl seemed a very expensive way to go, so unless you drink like a fish and have 3 full meals a day, then not worth it.

That's about right I'm afraid! The hotel bar is very expensive, as you would probably expect. Out and about it is a bit better, but still close to prices you would expect to pay in a big UK city centre. For example, at a very good bar in Beau Vallon we went to a lot, The Boathouse, our usual round of a bottle of Corona and a small beer (a bit more than half a pint) was 170 rupees, which works out about ÂŁ10. Good takeaway food nearby though with meals at 100 rupees. Having said that, the island is just out of this world and well worth the additional costs! We loved it so much we're going back in April, but just spending two nights at The STORY and self catering the rest of the time to keep costs down a bit!
There are more places to choose from in the Beau Vallon area.
