The hotel in its heyday had a great reputation, I don’t think the same could be said now. Until late 2020, the hotel was managed by Le Meridien brand, now its run by Story Hotels, who have a lot to do, in my opinion.
The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the location is also great with wonderful views.
The rooms/suites are in need of an upgrade. In the junior suites, the bathroom areas seem to have been upgraded in the past few years but they have not done the rest. Bedroom and seating areas are extremely dated with furniture looking like a bad IKEA venture!
Housekeeping is not good whatsoever, very dirty areas of room along with amenities and towels not being replenished.
The breakfast restaurant has a fair selection and food was fine (no buffet due to Covid) but the staff are uninterested and very slow.
Reception staff are excellent and efficient.
One thing that did stick out is that in my opinion, the hotel was not Covid conscious, I didn’t see the place in public areas, restaurant or indeed rooms being sanitised (compared to Dubai where I live, it was diabolical).
They rate themselves as a 5 star hotel which undoubtedly, once upon a time, it certainly was but sadly not anymore- they have a lot of work to get to that rating.
If they could just get their act together with decent staff in these certain areas, along with investing in the property, it would be great.

Dear Jenny, Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We are currently in the process of refurbishing and repairing the property and will hopefully have it back in shape shortly. I take note of your comments about the team and the Covid precautions and will discuss with the relevant department heads. I am happy to hear that you found the reception staff friendly and efficient and will share your comments with them which will definitely motivate them even more. My husband and I had a very nice stay at Le Meridien during the first part of our honeymoon in the Seychelles. I was getting nervous before our arrival after reading through some of the recent reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised once we got there. We booked with points, and we were upgraded to a junior suite prior to our arrival (of which I was notified via email a day or two in advance, which I appreciated) with an oceanfront patio. Yes, the property is dated, but the staff were so helpful and friendly, and the location at the far end of Beau Vallon beach was wonderful. The staff helped us arrange taxis and excursions, and they were quick to respond to any of our requests for assistance. We were there at the end of December, and a few weeks before our arrival the grounds had suffered some damage from strong winds. The pool was closed and undergoing repairs, and the beachfront was unstable and not usable, so we had to walk over to the H Hotel next door to have full beach and pool access. At the H, we were free to use their pool, beachfront lounge chairs, and we enjoyed a small discount on food and drink purchases. Yes, it was an annoyance to have to walk a bit to get to the H's beachfront area, but it quickly became a simple addition to our routine. Overall, if you're considering booking something in the Seychelles on points, this is an excellent option. If you're paying full price, you may want to at least consider some other options in the area; having said that, if you do stay here, I think you'll find that the location and the staff make this hotel worth your while. We were really comfortable here, and we were sad to leave it!

We spent 5 days here at the tail end of our trip to Africa which had been extremely busy and tiring, but excellent. The plan for Seychelles was to slow down, enjoy the beach and explore the island a little bit. We’re titanium elite and had booked on points and used 5 suite upgrades which cleared several days before arrival and we were given an oceanfront suite on the very edge of the property at the opposite end of the property from the spa. We liked the room a lot. We enjoyed the free breakfast every day and found the breakfast buffet to be quite good. We ate most nights at the bar restaurant. The other restaurants were quite expensive. We enjoyed walking on the beach in the morning and at night, swimming in the pool and ocean, snorkeling and paddle boarding.

The lobby is open air and beautiful and very much of the area. The property is older and in need of some maintenance, I knew this from the reviews I read before we arrived so it was not unexpected, things like tiles missing from the pool, etc. I’d go back/recommend for the value for points that we got along with the upgrades. I can understand that if you paid a fair bit for your stay here, you would not perhaps see the value for your dollar spent.

The staff at breakfast were good, the pool guys were helpful and friendly, the bar staff were inconsistent, some good, others quite slow and not really sure what to do.

We covered the entire island during our stay and we thought this location and beach were excellent and the best to be found on the island.

Flying from Gatwick to Dubai then to Seychelles with emirates was a joy, check in was quick and easy I was panicking leading up to holiday regarding paperwork ,you only needed The Seychelles form.
On arriving at the hotel at 8am you are welcomed with a cold drink which is really needed as it’s sooo hot. The view from reception is breathtaking. Check in is normally 3pm but the amazing reception staff got our room ready for us within half hour, I was so grateful after a long journey.
Our room was a seaview looking out to the sea and pool I couldn’t fault it, the staff at hotel are just amazing so helpful.
Breakfast was good eggs to order and buffet which did the job. The breakfast manager is a credit to hotel and made sure you had everything you needed.

I do have a few negative comments which I hope the management will view in order to improve and bring this hotel up to be a 5 star

Pool needs attention missing tiles, broken tiles in pool which could cut your feet open, steps in to pool need replacing.
Needs someone more active to attend to pool area, ie asking if you need drinks, also collecting dirty glasses up fro around pool area, if you ordered a drink your dirty glasses would stay till the end of day attracting ants and just looks awful.
Generally the hotel is very tired and needs attention if it’s to be considered a 5 star.

There is a lovely bar facing out to sea next to Paris restaurant which would be a great place to watch sunset, but no one uses it, I would suggest maybe some live music, happy hour? The hotel lacks simple things which make a holiday, no entertainment I’m not asking for a loud disco just some local musicians would have been great.
We went out to dinner everynight the Pearl noire is fantastic in my view the best in Mahé.
Trader vic very good
Eden very good
The boat house a must for cocktails
All in walking distance down the beach. But brace yourself for the price of food and drinks it’s very expensive, we spent a avarage of £170 a night for 2 people starters main and house wine.
We had a fabulous relaxing holiday it is paradise, would I return? Yes but only if hotel made upgrades.
In my option it’s a 3-4 star hotel.

We spent a week here. Everything from check in to check was perfect. Special mention to Lynn, Julia and Ralph - such genuine hospitality that made us feel like it was home away from home.

The rooms are spacious and we had an unobstructed view of the ocean. We opted for the half board package, and enjoyed a different set menu (with options) every night. Potions were great and the food was scrumptious. Breakfast is pretty standard but there's something for everyone.

Since the hotel was not packed, we were able to use the facilities without it being too crowded. There's an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Spa and gym were closed, but you could use them at the neighboring H hotel if you pre book. It's a short 5 minutes walk up the road.

All in all was a relaxing break, considering this was our first vacation in over 2 years.
Definitely coming back to this gem of a place.

Such a shame to continually read the same complaints about this lovely situated hotel.
We stayed here almost a year ago and it seems the hotel management have learned nothing from the complaints regarding the pool, surrounding timber boarded area, state of sun beds, and lacklustre attitude of members of staff. Every response to a review by management is almost the same without actually doing anything.
In my opinion, the hotel needs to close for a period of around 2 months in order that a complete makeover be carried out to many areas of the hotel, both structurally and aesthetically. Such works cannot be carried out when guests are present, hence my suggestion that it should close for a minimum of 2 months. It is in a wonderful location, with a great beach and so much going for it that it’s about time the owners spent money on it. The H hotel next door is a prime example of what can be achieved when money has been well spent.
Such a shame that this hotel seems to be running itself into to the ground and SPG or Bonvoy Marriott need to send a representative to stay here for a while and see just how poorly the establishment is. If money was well spent on upgrading most areas and investing in a good manager who can motivate the bored staff and run it as a so called 5 star should be run, it could once again be a great place to stay.
Sorry for such a review, sometimes the truth hurts.

My girlfriend and I had a great time here. The hotel is well located next to Beau Vallon beach. There is a side entry to the beach, so that during the day there is no need to take the Main Street to go there.
The hotel is in a walking distance from the restaurants of Bel Ombre (ca 15 min) as well as from the diving centers. There is a bus station where the bus is taking passengers to Victoria in 10 minutes (around every 30 minutes). Prices in the hotel‘s restaurant were what you could expect from a 5 star hotel, for a pasta marinara 20€ and a beef tenderloin 30€. We usually got lunch outside eating some samosas (30 cents each when bought in small local stores) as well as some pizzas and so on and then ate dinner at the hotel. A nearby restaurant definitely worth trying is the Boats house where they also prepare a creole buffet in the evening.

So, so disappointed with this property. In my opinion, it needs to be closed for a total refurbishment.
Staff were fantastic
5 Star rating.. I am sorry, it is not. Not in its current condition.
Pool Absolutely needs urgent attention to tiling and ladders. Water is sparkling clean but pool missing tiles on floor and walls. Bits of slate have been used on floor to repair in places but these are not level with existing tiles. Access to pool is by ladder x 2 but it really could be made much more accessible to older people especially, with walk in steps at shallow end.
My room was upstairs and had not seen any sort of upgrade since its inception. Beautiful sea view and adequate balcony. I did not appreciate having a bath encased in a dark wood frame sitting so close to my bed. Resembled a coffin.
Instant coffee 'Nescafe' sachets x 2 in my room not really conducive to a 5 star rating, as were the 60's? fixtures and fittings.
I had a pre existing injury restricting my walking so asked reception if they had the facility to change currency. The reply was yes, but unable to change foreign currency that day as the resort daily limit had already been reached. Maybe this needs to be addressed.
I could touch on other areas of the hotel, but suffice to say my disappointment was immense.
Please, please bring this property back to its former glory.

This hotel suprises you a LOT! As soon as you walk in , you are greeted by smile and then to overpower that also it just stunning view from reception. It felt so relaxing after long journey that we checked in and came back at reception just to sit for while. Being a Bonvoy member helps and a message i passed to the hotel before arrival and they made my day by upgrading us free to Ocean View room with huge garden infront. The swimming pool is excellent and sunset bar is just awesome. Room was very comfortable of course. You can see crabs, cats etc what not just roaming calmly in resort. Probably the best place i have ever stayed. Hospitality is awesome and people are so helpful that they would personally guide you by marking on city map etc so that you not troubled and tell you exact ways how to reach other destinations. Location is excellent. Just 2 things to keep in mind before even landing in Seychelles. Taxi’s are expensive but you should negotiate as much as possible and hotels are expensive so try to budget everything. On otherhand at hotel, loads of options of liquor and food which is amazing.

Pictures, stunning resort with manicured gardens and attention to detail and quality, well positioned on this popular stretch of beach. Reception staff are well informed and very supportive to guest needs and will go the extra mile to meet your needs to explore the island's. Staff very friendly, professional and attentive to guest needs. The resort design and décor is fresh and pleasing, rooms clean and quality of linen to cutlery at the next level of tread count and well know top brands. We looked at other resort and this resort is good value for the option we took in terms of views, garden, open space and quality and positioning of the resort.

I would strongly advise to look for other resorts like Kempinski who is property equipped for children activities and accommodation. We've stayed at Fishermans Cove and over 80% of customers are elderly and the rooms and premises are old since the hotel was first built - I believe the first in Seychelles
