The new tent-houses are nice basic chic, with an outdoor kitchenette. Large, comfortable shower and toilet. Lovely beds, good airconditioning. But no mosquitoscreens, so no window can be opened during the night. In december the temperature is around 18 degrees Celsius at night,

Dear Heleen, Thank you for the review. Glad you enjoyed the comfortable shower, lovely beds, the air-conditioning, pool and the excursion to Sossusvlei. We do provide air-conditioning and ceiling fans to regulate the heat inside the units. During your stay we had a national problem with the phone lines in our area hence no wifi could be provided. Looking forward to welcome you back. Best wishes, The Desert Quiver Camp Team

The property is about 5km from the entrance to Sossusvlei at the foot of some spectacular granite outcrops. It's clearly geared mainly for self-catering visitors and has everything you might need, apart from cooking and eating utensils, which aren't supplied. You are required to

Dear Chris, Thanks, the great rating and recommendation is highly appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the comfortable units, the air-con as well as the lovely pool and bar area! Our kitchenettes are only enclosed by the zip down covers (semi open) hence having the ammo boxes with utensils for those who prefer to self-cater - the concept is basically the same as a breakage deposit payable at most self-catering establishments in South Africa, here you only get your cash back immediately instead of a payback eft weeks after your stay. We are looking forward to welcome you back during your next visit to Sossusvlei! Best wishes, The Desert Quiver Camp Team

The new chalets are superbly appointed and the outside kitchen is a masterstroke. Great modern shower big enough to make love in. Really loved the views of the rock outcrops and the sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Close enough to the park entrance but far enough to make

Rooms are very good. Had a very comfortable stay. Just 5 min from the entrance gate of sossusvlei. There is no food on site but can be had at their sister camp Whig is about 2 km away. Recommend this place for the proximity to main tourist destinations in the region.

Sjorry, I'm a bit late answering. We were there in October last year. It was one of the most tranquil places we've ever been - it was fabulous! Traffic noise is certainly not an issue.

Dear Noura, Thank you for the question. Yes, Desert Camp and Desert Quiver Camp is accessible by a normal car / Polo. You should just drive cautious on the gravel roads and keep you speed below 80kph. The road inside the park is tared up until the 4x2 parking, but from there you can take the shuttle to the Deadvlei parking area. Or you can book a guided tour at the Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre. Best regards, The Taleni Africa Team

Dear TNVol49, Thanks for the question. Being a self-catering establishment most of our guests do have a car with them or if they are traveling with a group they normally have a bus transporting them. For Fly-In guests we suggest that they stay at Sossusvlei Lodge as all our activities depart from there and our restaurant is situated there for meals - unless they want to order from our starter pack to cater for themselves. Unfortunately don't provide a shuttle service between the Lodge and Desert Quiver Camp. Could you please contact our reservations office so that we can take a look at your booking and provide you with suggestions? Thank you! Best wishes, The Taleni Africa Team
