The staff of this resort were very professional. Some were more friendly than others but one expects this. The food was good - only complaint is that there wasn't enough Caribbean food on the menu and the one restaurant that offered it was often closed and was adults only -

We really enjoyed out time at this amazing resort. Traveling with two big daughters and my husband, we liked to relax and sunbath as well as a bit of yoga and pilates in the early morning. Amazing waters to swim in and an afternoon boat trip to the coral reef. The afternoon tea

I’ve thought long and hard about writing this review. We lead fairly hectic lives and always try our best to get 4-5 days away in February. This year we found we could get a week away so rather than ski we decided sun / warmth was on the agenda. This hotel came as a personal

We had a wonderful holiday at the Carlisle Bay in Antigua. The room was beautiful, the staff kindly remembered us from the previous year's visit and made us very welcome. The lobby and bar are beautiful and the kids club is excellent. The food is delicious although sometimes

Dear misbournelady, Thank you for your lovely review of your stay at Carlisle Bay. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the resort and particularly the service from the team. I have noted that the watersports team did not provide our normal levels of service and of course will address this with them, I do apologise. We do hope that we are able to welcome you back to Carlisle Bay again at some point, and will certainly ensure that we have a warm and welcoming watersports team, equipped with a working pedalo! With best wishes and appreciation for your feedback, Camilla

How is the beach? Is the water clear and swimmable?
the beach is calm and excellent for swimming BUT don't expect blue water!! i don't know why it's green, but it's not classic caribbean water. it's much more like "central american beach" in that regards. you can take a car trip to find pale blue water a very short distance away, but not here.

have you emailed the hotel? there is a children's side and an adult side. they will likely give you a cot for her. if she's considered an adult, the rooms have a sofa, but there's no privacy from your bed, despite the large room. most important: there is a door to the shower and a door to the w.c. but none to the bathtub and sink. it's not really set up for privacy for her. she'd have to change her clothes in the shower stall and you'd all have to forgo taking baths! it's weird that way!

Do people tip for the beach service, breakfast service etc?
No we didn't! It was included in our hotel bill so we add a tip at the end...

Not crowded sufficient loungers etc for all on beach and pool, everyone super friendly and it a safe environment for your children to feel free within the resort they can sit on beach you by the pool or vice versa as its all so close etc... however theres no night life as such so if they're party people it may be a bit quiet for them...
