Came back to Le Veranda for a second visit a year after to celebrate my birthday. This time, booked the Garden Villa, and was given a room quite near the main entrance and one of the annex building; however, wasn’t given an upgrade, boo! Was warmly welcomed with a welcome drink and my favorite tiramisu, alongside fresh fruit - the tiramisu was delicious. Thanks to the staff for arranging this! In regards to the room, I would have to say that my Garden Villa (room 203) was not very quiet in the mornings as I could hear all sorts of banging from doors in the next building, as well as noise from the housekeeping. However, it was quieter at night, although there was one night where I could faintly hear people in the balcony across from my villa, having a lively conversation but it died down before midnight. Oh, for some reason, there were less mosquitos in my garden villa compared to the sea facing villa last year, so that was a plus. The food was still good but service was spotty, especially at Le Jardin, which could be due to the fact there were more guests than last year, but it seemed that the staff weren’t trained to deal with simple requests, such as providing the correct cutlery and taking orders when there’s a lull period, although they seemed fine in the afternoon when it wasn’t busy. It was nice to see Shamir again on my return visit, and to catch up after a year. Thanks for the delicious mangoes during breakfast! Cryslyn was pleasant as well and handled my requests graciously and the staff at breakfast were kind and friendly. For some reason, the sea this time was riddled with tiny insects or plankton that kept stinging me so I didn’t enjoy swimming in the sea. The beach was fine, although there were some cigarette butts littered around the seats. It was a pleasant stay but could have been better, such as the location of the villa, noise during the morning housekeeping shift and spotty service at the Le Jardin restaurant due to the influx of guests. Hope they can look into improving the soundproofing. Let’s see if I come back next year. ;)

The hotel is outstanding. Colonial feel with exceptional service. From the moment we were picked up from the airport we were so well looked after. Our beach side room was great and we loved the fact that bars and restaurants were only a short walk away.

Situated right on the beach, this stylish hotel has character - in the best sense! Excellent food with a smart and formal restaurant as well as less formal “jardin” restaurant area across the lawn and spilling onto the beach. The large comfortable bar area in between has undertones of colonial days. Service is efficient, friendly and always ready to assist! The staff throughout the hotel were welcoming and helpful - so pleased Kuoni recommended this. Although it is in an area with various types of accommodation and shops, we found it quiet and, because of the beautifully designed jungly gardens, it was quite secluded too. The private beach area was very well managed and maintained. Fine white sand and excellent swimming. Loved it

What a fabulous and romantic place to spend eight nights! Our room was beautiful and well appointed. The beach is relaxing with plenty of places to walk to for a drink or a meal. The property and landscaping are lush and luxurious. And the food and drinks are outrageously delicious! We appreciated thoughtful amenities like nightly homemade treats with turndown service. The team is amazingly warm and welcoming, starting with the airport pickup. Literally every single person we encountered offered smiles and hellos throughout our stay. Among all of the exceptional team, we especially thank Kham (bar) who anticipated our order each night, Trieu and the beach crew who enthusiastically welcomed us and knew where we liked to sit, Sam (guest experience manager) who made sure every day that we were enjoying our stay and knew about special events, Thao (Le Jardin) who took such great care of us, Chef Sin whose food is incredible and who greeted us with such warmth every morning, and the reception staff (Crislyn and others). Our memories of La Veranda will always reflect the warmth and hospitality of the team. We would love to stay here again!

Dear Gina G, Bonjour! Xin Chao! Thank you very much for sharing your experience of MGallery Collection - La Veranda Resort. In colonial-era Indochine, service was prized as an art form. We try our best to resurrect this art from a bygone era by focusing on the finer details and we are proud to know you were satisfied with our genuine service. We are really delighted to share your feedback with the rest of the team, specially to Kha at the bar, Beach team headed by Trieu, Sam our Guest Experience Manager, Thao at Le Jardin Restaurant , Chef Sin from Kitchen and Crislyn at the Reception as it will serve as encouragement to strive for excellence. Once again, thank you for your kind words, and we do hope to welcome you for your next tranquil holiday in the Pearl Island. Bien à vous, La Veranda Team

To my eyes, this is the most romantic and meticulously designed resort that I have been for a long time. It is a matter of personal taste. I love the French Colonial design. Service, food and staff are all excellent. We were given a free upgrade to a garden villa. We had to change back to my original room because the air conditioning in the villa is less effective and the villa is more open to the elements. If only they can improve the water pressure in the shower. But then again, it may be part of the French Colonial design.

Dear Ed L, Bonjour! Xin Chao! We are delighted to receive a positive review from you, thank you. We’re thrilled that you enjoyed our rooms so much. Our owner, Madame Catherine, used her fondest memories as inspiration for its décor and all the little details you see around your room. Her intention was for all our valued guests to make their memories while in La Veranda, as she once did. I have also noted that you're not entirely satisfied with the Water Pressure of the Shower in your room.At MGallery, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore, your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrences. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in our mansion by the sea surrounded by lush tropical gardens, for another amazing vacation with us. Bien à vous, La Veranda Team

La Veranda hotel is a lovely colonial style hotel. We had a relaxing break enjoying some sunshine and some quiet after a tour of Vietnam. We found the staff exceptionally good. They absolutely make this hotel very memorable. The breakfast was great, especially the Pho which we had every morning. We didn’t find the Peppertree restaurant particularly special…perhaps too much choice between Western, Vietnamese, Thai and Indian! Trying a bit too hard we felt. The menu in the beach restaurant whilst extensive is difficult to navigate. It was only after a few days we found some delicious sea food tucked away on the pizza page….!?! I would like to mention Kieu, a charming waitress who speaks exceptional English, she was so helpful and made our stay very special. Also on the front desk Crislyn and Canh both VERY helpful with excellent English. We had a really great stay in this beautiful hotel.

Wonderful small Ressort built in French-colonial style. With its lush vegetation it’s a very pleasant oasis at the busy Western coast of Phu Quoc. Great Food, excellent service! Generally quiet, only occasionally disturbed by the next door techno beach club during the evening. Very nice beach, however, we made unpleasant contact with nettle plankton in the sea (like in many places in south east asia).
