Experience a life-changing safari at our seasonal camp located on the southern banks of the Linyanti River in northern Botswana. Linyanti Wilderness Reserve is a private concession boasting splendid scenery of untouched grasslands, riverine forest and meandering lagoons. The sumptuous style belies the simplicity of the camp. Organic layers with a comfortable lived-in feel are imbued with elegant touches of copper and cut-glass add a dash of old-world charm. Underscored by our ethos of eco-sensitivity, this Linyanti safari lodge touches the earth lightly. With only 6 tents, the camp has an intimate atmosphere, ensuring a personalized service for each guest. The main area has two canvas-covered hubs; a dining area with an exposed kitchen and an open lounge. As with most of our camps, the campfire is at the centre, drawing guests to enjoy the authentic experience of the African bush outside. The location of our Linyanti safari lodge in the northern region of Botswana enjoys an abundance of wildlife. The area is frequented by vast herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra that attract iconic predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs.

Linyanti Expeditions was the second camp on our 12 night Botswana Safari and gave us a very different experience to our stay in the Central Kalahari and the Delta.
We saw large buffalo herds, lots of elephants and giraffes and a leopard on a night drive. Coming across a big (4 or 5 meters) southern African python was both exciting and a little scary. Other animals we saw were zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, ostrich, hippo and so many more. We heard lions & hyenas but didn’t see them.
A must do is the Mokoro. Very peaceful and is a relaxing way to see another side to the African bush.
Our guide, Max, was great as well as good company.
The tents were more than comfortable and the communal areas were well set out with good views across the marsh. The food was delicious (best of our trip). The staff were very friendly and their enthusiastic singing on our last night was a highlight.

Linyanti expeditions camp was our 2nd camp that we stayed at during our fantastic trip through Botswana and Zimbabwe. It was our first real experience of staying in a tent in the wild of Africa and certainly one we will never forget! Although a tent, it certainly didn’t lack creature comforts but you still felt closer to nature. All the staff were amazing, warm and super friendly ensuring we all had the best of times. Huge thanks to the wonderful Obi for looking after us so well and to Ken, our brilliant guide - always so passionate about his work and so informative and fun. We will always remember you guys!

Linyanti Expeditions was the first stop on our 4 camp African safari with African Bush Camps through Botswana and Zimbabwe. It was absolutely wonderful - the staff and team was out of this world, the kindest individuals. It was the first stop on our honeymoon and my 30th birthday trip and they were out of their way to celebrate with us. The team host Obie made us feel so at home and welcomed. Our guide Gerry was very knowledgable and always found the best stop to see the sunsets :) Thank you to everyone at Linyanti Expeditions!

Linyanti Expeditions had great service from the staff. Obie and the staff did a great job of checking on our family to make sure we were doing well. Meals here were all family style which was nice and allowed us to mingle with the other guests. The food was very good. Our guide Ken was very knowledgable about the area. He told us that Linyanti means buffalo, and we saw a ton of buffalo there. The biggest challenge for me and my sister was the room without running water. For the sink basin we were provided with a bottle of water to wash up. The shower was a bucket over an enclosed area attached to our tent. It would have been alright except that the bucket was too high for us to reach well and the piece to open the valve was too tight for us. We had planned to shower at night, but when we couldn't open the valve we were unable to shower. Once you are in for the night you cannot leave without an escort for safety. We did tell Obie about this situation and the following day they lowered the bucket and loosened the valve. However, on our last night someone raised it again and tightened the valve. For someone who was taller and had stronger hands this would not be a problem. For us this camp was a bit too rustic without running water. It was also quite dusty. When on the game drives we had to be sure to wear a cover over our nose and mouth as well as glasses and/or sunglasses to keep dust out. For some people who really like the rustic camping experience this would be a great place to visit. For charging any personal devices (phone, camera batteries, watches etc) we needed to go to the main/common area as there was no charging in the rooms. I carried a portable Mophie charger which worked great. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we did sleep well, even though one night we were surrounded by elephants on all sides! Quite the experience.

Expeditions was the final camp on our Botswana trip and being fans of African Bush Camps, we had high expectations. They were all met without reservations. Like our wonderful host Obi greeted us: "welcome home", proved to be spot on. The location is superb within a private concession and just about without any other visitors. The staff is very professional without being overly formal. The 'feel at home' vibe was for us a very important asset. After all, not many camps are able to create this. Max our guide was probably the best we ever had. There seemed to be no limit to his knowledge and (driving) skills. Lots of wildlife and birds around and Max was able to find just about anything using all senses.
Unforgettable; the big male lion roaring in the middle of the night right next to our tent, calling his friend to meet him at this exact spot (and succesfully doing so). It made a good story over breakfast while examining the tracks.
Every time we visit southern africa, we want to return and the experience we had at Expeditions makes it just about impossible not to. We look very much forward to visiting either Nxai pan or perhaps a new camp.
Very highly recommended!

What KEN we say...
We stayed in Linyanti Expeditions as part of our honeymoon, and we would do it all over again!
The staff is FANTASTIC, and a special shoutout to our guide Ken, he truly is the best, also Obi, the manager, was superb and managed everything perfectly!
We loved everything about the camp, from the (early) game drives, to the food, to the tents...
As the name of the camp 'expeditions' suggest, you truly feel part of nature, with the back to basic experience (buckets of water to take a shower; limited Wi-Fi coverage etc.)
We will definitely be back!!!
Thank you for the fantastic memories!

Thomas & Davien

This is a mobile camp so it is only located in the Linyanti region part of the year. It proved to be an excellent safari destination with abundant wildlife - lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, honey badgers, African wildcats and many more. Although it is somewhat rustic one of the nice features is the “night sky” bedroom addition to the tents. Expedition Camp is quite small with very hospitable staff and management and our guide Max was superb.

This was our first safari camp experience, and it will remain a favourite! Amazing tented experience with all the comforts -- don't miss a chance to sleep under the stars in Botswana!
Hostess Obi, Chef and our guide Gilbert were outstanding. So kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The staff made sure our needs were not only met but anticipated!
Can't say enough about his wonderful place.

Stayed here for 3 days and had the place to ourselves for the first night, a truly wonderful location and exceptional staff!

check in/out - very efficient, started with the pick up from the flight in and a safari drive back to camp with a lovely stop along the route for snacks and drinks with Ken. Checking out we got 30 minutes from camp to be radioed as the flight was delayed a few hours, Max our guide took us for an impromptu game drive and then the camp put on a great lunch for us before setting off again, above and beyond!

Rooms - the luxury tents are very well done and the locations and views are breath taking, listening to the wildlife in the evening and morning made for a perfect stay. Comfortable beds, no bites with the netting and a fun bucket shower when requested.

Location - set above the vista on a fault line give a fantastic view out across the various waterways and pools, black sky at night with minimal ambient light gave some stunning night skies. The game drives were full of different animals and given the remoteness it is no surprise.

Food/Drink - food was always good and a few excellent evening meals, the last unexpected lunch was fabulous. Staff were always around but not overly so and quick to get refills on the drinks and make sure anything needed was at hand!

Service - Max our guide was exceptional, great guy full of information and his knowledge and enjoyment of his job shone through. Ken one of the other guides who picked us up and assisted during one of the drives was also very knowledgeable and we enjoyed our time with him at camp. Obi the camp manager was always there to greet us and take our water bottles, refill and chill til the next time we needed them, no request was too much for any of the staff and it was a pleasure to spend some time with them all during our down time.

Highly recommended accommodation, location and the staff just put the cherry on top.

Wow! Just got home from our stay with African Bush Camps and Linyanti was by far our favorite stop! The area is absolutely gorgeous, with plentiful animals and wildlife. We saw lions, herds of elephant, hundreds of zebras, etc. Plus, we enjoyed the fact that we were the only guests in the concession so there was really a feeling of remoteness ! In other locations, you will be one of 10+ vehicles surrounding an animal. In Linyanti, you really feel you are 'out there'.

The camp itself is beautiful, rustic yet has every comfort you need. We loved sleeping under the stars on our last night. Special shout-out to Max who was simply the BEST guide and knows the landscape so well, plus was very accommodating to the interests of my husband who is a birder. And thank you to Obie, the hostess, who made our stay so comfortable. The service and hospitality here is a 10/10.
