We have been at Meintzinger with three couples in October 2020. the rooms are big and very nice. The area is silent. Sometimes there is a bad smell in the air. If the wind come from the area Ochsenfurt you smell the sugar factory.
Such a wonderful find! Two friends and I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Weingut Meintzinger in mid-December 2019. It's such a special place. We only stayed one night on a driving tour of Bavaria and are already talking about going back. In the limited time we had, we managed a wine tasting in the beautiful tasting room, dinner in the dining area as well as the phenomenal breakfast as well as utilization of the spa the next morning. From the friendly, helpful and accommodating staff to the gorgeous property, this is a must-stop if you've go the time.
We had the House of Friends, a building owned by the hotel, to ourselves and we had a wonderful time living in the wine town. First, the town is beautiful, entering through the tower gates and then to the winery/hotel in the center of town. Service is impeccable. The breakfast ladies are the best and the buffet is massive and well done. Front desk services supports, separately, the winery and the hotel. The House of Friends is a short walk from the main hotel through the churchyard. It is two bedrooms, each with separate large bathrooms and separate sitting areas, with a kitchen 30 Euro to use the facilities other than the fridge, a sauna 25 euro to use the sauna and separate living area. The entrance has a glass door on the floor looking to the wine caves below. Parking is in-front of the house. It is quiet here. Two restaurants in town. The wines produced are amazing, especially the sylvaner. Walk through the vineyards and views across the Main river. Amazing.…
What a place! Fantastic hotel and wineary. Wonderful breakfast!! The small village was also very nice and all the people we met were very friendly (including staff at local restaurant). We would love to visit again :)
My girlfriend that I spent two nights at the Weingut and Hotel Meintzinger as part of our trip along the Romantic Road in Germany. What I loved most about the hotel was its great location. It's located a short drive away from Wurzburg and the small town that its in, Frickenhausen, is a lovely little small town as well. It was easy to get to and from the hotel and with so many restaurants nearby we never had to venture too far away to find something to do or eat. The hotel itself is quite grand with an imposing lobby and lots of small hallways and staircases that are used to get to and from the rooms. On the second floor is a beautiful balcony where you can relax and enjoy the sun if you're visiting during the warmer summer months. We had a large spacious Suite with a separate bedroom and it was great to come back at the end of the day to relax on the couch with the window open to listen to the sounds of the town. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful with Helping us plan our trip to some of the nearby smaller towns and other interesting tourist sites. There is breakfast available at the hotel and I recommend grabbing a seat on the balcony if the weather is nice. The breakfast was well done with quite a few options depending on what you feel like eating. We aren’t wine drinkers but there are some options for tasting and buying wine at the hotel if you're so inclined. The wifi worked great and there is free parking right out front of the hotel. Overall, I would recommend the Weingut and Hotel Meintzinger if you're looking for a romantic and luxury stay while visiting Wurzburg or touring the Romantic Road.…
