We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were neat and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner, Christian, was extremely informative about the history of the castle and surrounding area. We will definitely be staying there again.

No lodge luxury but a very nice and quiet farm-atmosphere with nice people and good rooms. We just had one night, so I can't say too much, but I have to fill the 200 chars that tripadvisor is requiriing as minimum.

We enjoyed Duwisib Guestfarm tremendously and can recommend same to every traveler doing the southern parts of Namibia. We would recommend putting up hooks in bedrooms and bathrooms to hang up coats and Travel bags.

Really enjoyable stay here. It was a one night stop en route elsewhere and actually would have been nice to stay a couple of days and explore the local area more. Also the owner is super interesting to chat to which we enjoyed over a delicious dinner. We had a self catered room just a minutes walk from the farmhouse which was comfortable, clean bedding, hot shower with good pressure, small kitchenette space (we didn’t use) and a small outside seating area. Perfect for what we needed and would return again.

Duwisib Guest Farm will now be a must-stop on every journey - we stayed 2 nights and can thoroughly recommend it! The lodge is in the beautiful old forge and workshops of the nearby castle, built of the same sandstone, at the same time. We stayed in a convenient self-catering cottage, at a short distance, but next time we would like to stay in the atmospheric main house - the meals were so good (thanks Laida!) and varied, that we had dinner on both nights! The conversation round the long table on the stoep, hosted by Jochen, was lovely after our solitary travels. Thank you very much!

Very nice host and very friendly staff. Very good dinner together with other guests and the host with interesting conversations, delicious breakfast. Very nice furnished rooms: room and dining room etc., beautifully landscaped outdoor area including swimming pool. The Duwisib Castle is just a few hundred meters away. With recommendations for a few walks around the farm. Very nice stay, I felt completely comfortable - thank you!

The guest farm is located in a beautiful location surrounded by the mountains. The rooms are basic, but clean and have hot water, and a nice little terrace with table and chairs. The food was simple and very well cooked - dinner was served communally with the other guests and the owner also joined us. We took a couple of drinks up the hill to watch an excellent sunset before dinner. Overall a lovely place to stop-over between Luderitz and Soussevlei.

A real highlight. The guest farm was originally part of Duwisib castle and a horse stud as well as a farm. Johan joined us for a lovely home cooked dinner where it fascinating learning more about Namibia, farming here, the county’s history and life in the desert. The rooms are in the old stables (they were very grand stables!), comfy beds, lovely hot showers, and plenty of space. Meals are in a huge old blacksmith’s forge with the old equipment still in place. An extraordinary handsome building. The kids played cricket outside, and enjoyed good WiFi! The meal was delicious home cooked food with a few options. We found Duwisib Guest farm a real highlight as we felt we got a bit of the insiders view of the country. I highly recommend it to anyone. The drive via the D707 is stunning too. A great way to beak the journey from Luderitz to Sesriem.

Room Tip: Drive via the D707. Climb the hill behind for sunset, there’s a nice stone table to watch it from.

This is a fantastic place, go there if you can. We stayed in a room, there is also a campsite. The location is beautiful, you can sit calmly and just watch all day. Our host accompanied us for meals with long and very interesting discussions and the history of the farm (we are farmers ourselves, so if you have such interests, this is the place!). Do not miss a visit to the Duwisib castle, the host can arrange for you. We also had a nice morning walk and an interesting guided tour of the farm. The service is perfect and also with a little extra - e.g. they prepared a special Christmas meal for us, which we took at the sunset viewpoint . Room, swimmingpool, everything is perfectly kept and food is very good and varied.
